Description

My doctors told me there was nothing wrong with me. My body disagreed.

My doctors told me there was nothing wrong with me. My body disagreed.

Like so many others, I spent years looking for answers. I've been dismissed, misdiagnosed, or told to "try yoga and meditation."  I've tried to live with pain, exhaustion, strange symptoms, and the frustration of nobody believing me about my own body.

Finally, I clawed my way to a diagnosis: hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

And nobody told me what comes next.

The Dazzle Roadmap is the compact read I needed when I was diagnosed. I can't give you a magic pill, but as a recovering scientist, I'll share how I got here, what I've learned about the biology behind EDS, and what's helped me build a life that works with my body instead of constantly fighting against it.

You'll find accessible explanations of the science behind connective tissue, cellular energy, immune dysregulation, and other systems that may help make sense of a body that has never seemed to follow the rules. You'll also find the messy, often darkly funny stories behind those lessons: years of medical gaslighting, painful discoveries, and people assuring me that everything was fine while I bled to death.

But this isn't a book about resigning yourself to chronic illness. It's about what comes after the diagnosis.

How do you find doctors who listen? How do you manage your energy when your body has different limits than the world expects? How do you approach movement, physical therapies, treatments, and everyday life when the usual advice doesn't fit?

There may not be a cure. There may not be a simple answer. But there can be a roadmap.

If you're newly diagnosed, fighting for a diagnosis, caring for a "Zebra", or trying to figure out how to live well with a body that doesn't cooperate, The Dazzle Roadmap offers science, hard-won perspective, practical tools, and something I didn't have when I started this journey: hope for what comes next.

Your diagnosis is not the end of the story. It's where the roadmap begins.
