Description

Magic is real, and hungry—trapped in ancient texts and artifacts, only a few who discover it survive to fight back. Detective Sal Brooks is a survivor. Freshly awake to just what dangers are lurking, she joins a Vatican-backed black-ops anti-magic squad: Team Three of the Societas Librorum Occultorum. Together they stand between humanity and magical apocalypse. Some call them the Bookburners. They don’t like the label.

The fight now continues in Season 2 of this gritty urban fantasy...

The tide of magic is rising and the Bookburners must sink or swim. This means their usual strategy of "Contain and Archive" is going out the window to make room for "Experimentation and Field Practice" - much to the dismay of some and the glee of others. Big secrets - about the Society, the world (both ours and the Other), and the murky pasts of our heroes will come to light....that is, if the team can stay alive to learn them.

Season 2 Episode 3: "Mistakes Were Made"

Questions abound but answers are few when Team Three visits a magical conference in the third episode of Bookburners, the gritty Urban Fantasy presented by Serial Box, now in its second season.

Asanti and Liam sneak invites to a magical conference in Russia, and find the bad coffee and cheap cups the least of their problems. While Asanti struggles with her feelings towards the Society and its mission, everybody else struggles to stay alive.

This episode brought to you by Brian Francis Slattery who asks that you turn your attention towards the screen and save your comments to the end.

Bookburners has everything I want from episodic storytelling - strong writing, a rich premise, and memorable characters that will keep me coming back week after week. ”
– Mike Underwood, author of the Ree Reyes Geekomancy series

Bookburners satisfies my craving for pulpy, demonic chaos with sharp writing, deliciously sinister magic, stellar black humor, and a kick-ass cast. The serialized story perfectly suits a sorcerer’s codex of baddies while the plucky Sal digs for deeper truths in her work with the Black Archives squad. ”
