Lord Edmund is very arrogent and cocky he came to America to find a wealthy wife thats high in society. Because in his fathers will he needa to marry wealthy to remain the Lord. That was all before Abby  she knocks him on his ass. With her smart mouth and beauty but Abby is working class after losing her parents all she has is a store thats only half hers.
Edmunds friend Will puts him on a show to pick a wealthy wife but all he can see and think about is Abby. Will millions of people watching Abby somehow by mistake ends up on the show. And the audience sees the connection they have. Edmunds attitude completly changes because of Abby he loves her and he is willing to give everything up for her. But Abby walks away because she cant be the reason a few yeara down the road that he hates her for losing everything. Edmund doesn't marry but on his 26 birthday the will is read and because he changed so much and was selfless and gave his money to charity's and people that needed it including Abby. That everything was left to him. Abby comes to see him thinking he is married but to he surprise he only has eyes for her and only loves her. Money can't define you being a good person and helping when you can thats what puts a smile on people's faces.

I absolutely loved reading this book. I loved the comparisons to Pride and Prejudice, as well as Jane Eyre. Both are favorites of mine and I saw the comparisons in this book. Very creative writing indeed!

Edmund was a titled Lord from England who had come to America to escape and to "find a suitably rich, titled wife" to satisfy the demands in his father's will. He had no interest in getting married. He was living the bachelor life and wanted to continue to live footloose and fancy free. He met Abby who was helping out as a waitress in her friend's bar. Abby was the only woman who had not fawned all over him when she learned of his title and wealth. He was incredibly handsome but not for her. She was a poor store owner with nothing more to offer. As the two continued to see each other, she helped to "change" Edmund. He became a better person and she began to see the wonderful qualities he possessed.

I won't give away the story but suffice it to say that this was wonderfully written and well developed. I will definitely look for more by this author. There was a little swearing and a sex scene that was part of the story. I didn't need all the details but I have definitely read some that were much more graphic and unnecessary.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Portland Oregon

Abby Forester is working as a waitress to pay off her college loans and bills left by her Dad when he died. One table she’s waiting on has an English guy in the group whom she can tell is quite wealthy. A guy who had been in one of her classes, Will Simpson, is at the table and tells her that he is now the host of Love Match, a dating game show on TV. Abby is being run off her feet serving beer and fighting off groping men. Just as Abby is nearly forced to break a bottle over a guy’s head, Edmund, Lord Rushwood, rushes over to assist her.

It turns out that Edmund has been told that his father’s will stipulates he must wed a rich and socially acceptable bride by his 26th birthday or lose his inheritance. His mother’s friend suggests he look for a bride in America so he heads to Portland to escape and visit with his friend, Will Simpson. So Will talks him into going on his Love Match show as Lord Bachelor ensuring him that some of the women contestants are wealthy in their own right.

But Abby and Edmund have formed a friendship and are truly attracted to each other. Is there some way they can get around his inheritance stipulation that he must marry a wealthy woman?

This is a clever enough novel that can entertain a reader for awhile. However, I didn’t bond with either of the main characters.

This was one of those books, you know the ones, that you start reading and you just get engulfed in it. The characters Abby Forester, is a college student and shop owner of vinyl recorders. Her father left her a half owner of it. She is just a young, lonely, romantic girl trying to get by.
You see her mother passed when she was younger and her father always felt somewhat guilty never giving her another mother. So, he hastily brought an evil lady to their lives. She may have had bloodline but she had no culture no morals. Luckily, he never married her but he did give her half of the business. But she had Raify to help her handle the burdens of each day with Kendra.
So, when her father fell ill she quit school to care for him and this evil woman was nowhere to be found except when she came by to tell him he was lazy and to take money from the till. Then, of course, when she had to show the public she was the mourning girlfriend at the funeral needing assistance to walk and everything.
When one night she goes to help her friend Tommy at his bar who was shorthanded and an ex-classmate is there with a friend. She disliked Will a lot. Wanted to avoid his table at all cost he thought he could buy his way through life. Not her. But his friend she couldn’t seem to stop eyeing.
Now this guy, Lord Edmund Rushwood, he had money, looks, and tons of the women in the bar dropping off their numbers to him. When she gets back up to the bar she’s told one of the waitresses is on a break and needs to go to their table. She says, NO! Tommy says, Yes! So, she goes.
She ignores Will and engages Edmund who right away starts flirting. The way she and he banter is titillating for both of them. After a while, Will makes his presence known when she goes to get their drinks he tells Edmund to let it go she is not worth the effort. And that he won’t get first base. That was like flying the red flag in front of a bull.
You see Edmund was in the states to find a wealthy wife to marry and one with a good bloodline. He needed one per his father's will. All before his 26th birthday in three months. As the evening went on he became more intrigued with Abby. But Will kept him focused.
Then Will came up with having him be on the game show he hosted but for him, they could change the name to “Love Bachelor” who finds a bride. All through this, he can’t stop thinking of Abby. Then there is an altercation at the bar between a rugby player and Abby and Edmund goes to help. He gets her out of the way. She likes it but she doesn’t. Which only wins him over more. To the point of tracking her down.
This is a modern-day fairy tale. So, cute. Well played out. Abby’s character was under no delusions but wanted to keep hope and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. She wanted to believe that romance existed. Edmund surprised me is all I am going to say. I give this book: 5 stars. Provided by netgalley.com. Follow us at: www.1rad-readerreviews.com.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Lord Edmund Rushwood, has until he turns twenty-six to find a wealthy bride or lose his vast inheritance. Seeking a break from the situation he heads to America to visit a friend. Edmund agrees to participate in his friends tv show in the hopes of finding a bride.
Abby Forester is content to live out her father’s dreams in his vintage record shop. Invariably drawn to Edmund she is reluctant to have anything to do with him. Abby somehow ends up a contestant on the tv show as one of Edmund’s potential brides.
While I did enjoy the book it’s an easy, readable story featuring attractive characters,
I found it to be overlong. I lost interest as the ending was drawn out unnecessarily. I would give it a cautious recommendation.

This was an absolutely-delightful, romantic romp. It had a modern Cinderella-esque vibe and all the essential elements that make for the kind of read that you just can't seem to put down! The story line was interesting, and the characters were complex, identifiable and rich with life. I enjoyed this book immensely!
