Description

An evil force is mutilating people in modern-day London, and the horror resembles that of another era.

In the 1600s, a small town in Transylvania grew increasingly panic-stricken as more than five hundred young women lost their lives to a mysterious fiend. Some believed that a demon lurked in the woods, craving the blood of girls. But most locals never questioned that the fate of their daughters and sisters was related to something happening behind the walls of Čachtice Castle.

When corpses begin to appear in the twenty-first century, apparently bled with antique torture devices, forensic researcher Dr. Emanuel Mason reluctantly takes the case, knowing it could lead him to an old nemesis and reopen barely healed wounds. He’ll soon find that to prevent more carnage and uncover a killer practicing an ancient rite, he’ll need to look to the past and analyze one of the most sadistic minds in history.

A Note From the Publisher

Born in Seville, Myriam Millán began to write novels in adolescence. Even though she can’t remember a time when writing wasn’t her greatest ambition, she put it off for a while to study industrial relations at the University of Seville. Years later, after becoming a mother, she returned to an unfinished novel and Décima docta (The Tenth Ritual) was born.

In the Mouth of the Dragon is her first book to be published in English.

She feels lucky to live with one foot in reality and the other in fantasy, and this dual residency is the source of her writing. She is already working on her next book, which features a historical setting, romance, and ancient rituals.
