What a great story. The Author has done a superb job of writing this very entertaining book. It’s quite a unique story, and as I read through each chapter I was amazed at how someone’s life could become a complete mess. You would think being twins would be the greatest thing in the world. The one person you could depend on to be there for you. Unfortunately for Max his brother Chase was the exact opposite of that. Chase was intent on causing as much mischief as he possibly could from an early age, and he would often get Max involved whether he wanted to or not. Then if they were caught Chase would pass the blame onto Max. Things certainly didn’t improve when they got older, just allot more serious. Chase took it to the next level and was caught for an armed holdup, and not even trying to hide is identity. Unbeknown to Max his brother had been caught driving unlicensed and gave the police Max’s name when caught, and of course he didn’t show up to the court date. So when Max was pulled over for a routine stop, the police found that he had a warrant out for his arrest, ant that definitely shocked him. From that point on Max’s life turned into a complete nightmare because of his brother. Having an identical twin was not the greatest thing in the world. Not even close. This is definitely a page turner, and well worth reading. I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for this Author in the future.

Can you imagine having an identical twin? Can you imagine the fun they could have fooling other people? Can you imagine the horror if your identical twin stole your identity and spent 20 years committing crimes and left you to get the blame?

That's what happened to Max. Max is the good twin, striving to make good in the world. Chase is the bad twin, who pursues a life of crime and is quite good at it.

For 20 years, Max has to battle the legal system to try to prove who he is .. or who he isn't. He spent a lot of time in jail that he should not have; spent a lot of money he didn't have.

Max is tired of battling and he wants revenge..... this is his story.

This was a roller coaster ride of emotions. It goes back to the question of nature vs nurture. Both boys raised by the same parents, in the same loving home. How do the boys gravitate to opposite ends of the spectrum?

The story line is a good one ... but the middle third of the book is somewhat boring. It's basically telling and retelling Max's story to any number of attorneys, judges, advocates, police. Once or twice would have been enough. But the beginning is really good ... watching the boys grow up ..and apart. The ending was not what I had expected, but it fit.

Many thanks to the author / Black Rose Writing / NetGalley who provided a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
