Three years after the War of the Lotus, alliances have already begun to unravel. As Rowen Locke struggles to maintain peace, troubling news reaches him from every corner. I enjoyed this book and am waiting on the #2. I think Maddoc is one of my favorite characters after Locke. I was hoping that Keidu would have played a slightly more imortant role in the story and was quite upset with how things worked out for him. All in all a very enjoyable read.

I was worried having not read the previous Trilogy whether I would be able to relate to the characters or follow the story.
This was a brilliant read with the story engaging me from the start.
The characters are full of depth and although in places I could have done with reading the previous Trilogy I just could not put it down.
