A mystery. One that needs solving.....
On December 7, 1941, the lumber carrier Cynthia Olson and her crew vanished without a trace after reporting that it was halfway between Seattle and Honolulu and under attack from a submarine.
You would think that had it been destroyed in the submarine attack, there would have been some trace of it remaining, some floating debris, a body recovered at some stage, timber? Nothing.....
And so Stephen Harding examines the Cynthia Olsen story. What happened to the ill–fated ship? What happened to her crew? And was she Japan’s first American victim of the Pacific War?
An interesting and intriguing read. Does he solve the mystery? Read it and find out.
