Description

A seductive story about corruption, sin, lust, and redemption The series opens as Ives Andrich, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Division of the FBI, is confronted with investigating the woman he has waited a lifetime to find. Because of her more than accurate novel about an Italian crime lord, the Bureau, against Ives' wishes, asks for her help in infiltrating the internal organization of the nation's most nefarious Mafia don. When the Bureau's plan fails, and she becomes dangerously entangled in the private life of the United States' most wanted criminal, Ives tolerance for Bureau mishaps vanishes. No holds barred, he puts everything on the line to save the woman he loves in the first book in The Killing Game Series, a suspense thriller series by The Black Rose.

I think that the author has some explaining to do because there is a lot of detail stuff you don't just make up! FBI, New york... Love... mafia all twisted in to what reads like it is really someones life, kind of makes you wonder?! You will not want to put this book down when you pick it up so but out a large block of time to read when you open it or be sad! Can't wait to see whats next! I received this on a review.

She was a fiction writer, but this time out, her tale of an Italian crime lord mimics reality far too closely. He was the FBI Special Agent in Charge of bringing a treacherous crime lord down, but the FBI needs help and Allina is asked to work undercover to bring Luca down. Can Ives stand by as the woman of his dreams becomes the latest elbow dressing for the devil? Will the bureaucratic mistakes made by the Agency put Allina in even greater danger? Ives will turn his back on everything he believes in to save the woman he loves as he plows on, head first into danger, deceit and death, all at the hands of one egotistical mafia don.
The Black Rose spares nothing in providing rich details, intimate encounters and the passion between two people who begin to lose themselves in the world they have infiltrated. From start to finish there is suspense, all unfolding into more suspense in the ever tightening web created in a world that scrapes the underbelly of society raw.

THE KILLING GAME is filled with intense details and often an almost overly dramatic love affair that is the thing of those magnetic soap operas. The bad guys are vile and brutish, and the intrigue of who is spying on who and who is playing both sides of the fence become apparent as Allina refuses to walk away and Ives discovers one of the biggest mistakes of his life. He never should have allowed Allina to do what is asked of her, but she proves her meddle as she stands up time after time to the monster she is stringing along.

Highly charged, over-the-top action and some dialogue that one would get Allina shot, this sting is riveting from start to finish if you let go of wanting less minute detail to enjoy the meat and potatoes of this dark tale.
