Not my cup of tea. I thought the story might be folk tales of how customs go started. It wasn't, exactly, that. It's a retelling of the Nativity and Christian families will most likely enjoy it. Not for me.

I had high hopes but it failed miserably. Saying Mr David and Ms Mary was really irritating (who uses Mr with a Christian name?!), putting words in all caps is annoying and the writing was incredibly stilted. This was made worse by the odd parts e.g. Why were the coins in tiny pockets rather than the body of the stocking? Who gets presents on the day they're born? Not sure that I am in favour of messing with the navity to this extent but if so it must be done better than this. Don't bother to read this book.
