There is something between Maddy McKay and Quinn Holcombe. And not just the spark going on, but a killer, too. A hidden killer, playing the cat and mouse game. So how to be on the run constantly and at the same time find the ruthless serial killer, who calls himself The Chosen One?

Yay! A nice read - if you forgive my enthusiasm about this killer ride (a pun intended). This one has all the attributes of a winner - an interesting hero hunted by his private demons, a lovely yet tough-as-nails heroine with some past issues herself, a smart psychopathic serial killer or two and the serious food for thought tossed into all the running, hiding and catching mixture.
I love how catchy the killer plot was - with a fast start of the heroes being kidnapped to n isolated island to play a game for their life - and then the novel continues with similar tempo and gusto. And while our heroes fight and sleuth, they finally start to recognize the proverbial spark. But there is the baggage and the faith issues and the need to grow.
So good! Just if the killer would not be THAT much hidden to be revealed so late in the game! But this might be my personal pet peeve.

But anyways - this is readable and catchy and thrilling novel - and deep, touching and moving. Great work, Ms Eason.

I absolutely love Lynette Eason's work and "Moving Target" was a book that I devoured every page within two days. If I could have stayed up all night I guarantee I would have read it in one sitting. If you haven't read a book by this wonderful author it is time that you pick up one of her books. I guarantee you that if you love a clean suspenseful read you will absolutely love this one.

"Moving Target" is the third book in Ms. Eason's Elite Guardians series.

Lynnette Eason's books always leave me on the edge of my seat. Her writing style is riveting and her attention to detail is shown in each chapter that she writes.

I love the characters and backstories that she creates. They are real and believable. The story flowed with ease and built onto the climax of the novel. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Lynette threw another curve and left me guessing all the way to the end.

Such a great novel. I cannot wait for the next one!

MOVING TARGET is a page-turning suspense that will keep you glued to the pages while the hero and heroine run for their lives. I told my fifteen year old daughter that I realize we live in a fallen world and "there is nothing new under the sun" but it absolutely terrifies me that something such as written about in this book could actually happen -- and did happen in the author's mind as she wrote the story. My daughter responded with "I think all suspense authors are scary." Hmm. Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know any in real life.

Whether Ms. Eason is scary or not isn't what is in question though. It's this story. And for the screamish, it'd probably be best to throw the book down and run screaming in the opposite direction. There are dead bodies everywhere. And more terror than you can imagine. For the not screamish, prepare to get no sleep until you finish this book because you just can't put it down.

The faith message is very solidly worked through the entire book, in both the characters' private lives and in the suspense. I felt sorry for Quinn but I didn't actually like him and he and Maddy argue almost constantly so I'm kind of wondering how well a relationship between them will work out.

The suspense itself keeps you guessing pretty much. I did sort of figure it out when something was mentioned early on in the book, but I didn't completely figure it out. Then the whole thing seemed to end too soon, and the characters are like "we're safe" and I'm like no you aren't, there's too many pages left... and then unbelievably the heroine does something totally INSANE and that of course is the real black moment when all will be revealed.

Not my favorite Lynette Eason book but a still a page-turner.

This is book three in the series, but it stands alone. Still, fans will want to read Always Watching, Chasing Secrets, and Without Warning

I got a copy off Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

I have absolutely loved this series!! This particular book is probably my favorite with its spine tingling, suspense-filled mystery! Maddy is strong and independent and the tension between her and Quinn is overcome only when a psycho killer tries to hunt them down. It is a constant page turner. I have really enjoyed this series and am looking forward to sharing it with my family and friends!

Moving Target is a Serial Killers playground or so they think. This book is like an amusement park ride - which ride? Well the Space Mountain - you are going along up and down and Wham! A smack in the face - Surprise in the ride. You are reading the book and Quinn and Maddy are after the Serial Killer and Wham! Something happens - you then hit a Whip in the ride from one side to the other and you are like what the heck just happened? In the book you have the Serial Killer turning the tables and you wonder with the breath beaten out of you what is coming up next? Are they going to survive? Will they get the Serial Killer? Who is the Serial Killer? and when you do see light of day and the ride (book) is over you are soooo upset because it was too short and you want more so much more...but then you think hey - maybe they will write another one if we are lucky.......

If you are searching for a spine-tingling, suspenseful thriller that will keep you peering over your shoulder, then look no further! Moving Target is a chilling who-dun-it that will keep you guessing until the deliciously creepy conclusion. Maddy McKay is one tough cookie who has an Achilles' heel where a certain tenacious detective, Quinn Holcombe, is concerned. However, a romantic relationship can't even be considered until they find the psychotic madman who is bent on exacting revenge by hunting them down like prey.

I love Quinn and Maddy. They both were dealing with family drama, and on top of that a mad man wanted them dead. This book has kidnapping, attempted murder, murder, bomb threat, embezzlement, suicide, and a whole lot more. Quinn blamed himself for what happened to his sister. He felt his family had turned their backs on him. Maddy's FBI unit had been set up and everyone blamed her for what happened, including her father.

The story follows Maddy and Quinn as they face an enemy with an unknown agenda bent on causing destruction. The two friends draw closer together as they learn to rely on each other for protection.

The book was completely high impact and not one slow moment from page one to the last page. You will be on the edge of your seat. You find yourself sucked in and you just can't put the book down.

I highly recommend this series to anyone looking for great suspense with a little romance thrown in for good measure!

Third in the series doesn't disappoint. Nonstop action kept me up all night. Couldn't put the down until I finished it. Eason guarantees an exciting, great read.

Maddy is an ex FBI agent and she was good at her job, however things happened and it seem to blow up in her face and now she is a body guard of her own company. She is happy with what she doing and is glad to have her friend Quinn back on his feet, however it seems that someone is after them and now they need to find out why and who. Quinn has a few secrets he plans to keep close to his heart and he does have a way of keeping people at bay. But when he pushed his friend away a little to hard he knows he needs to apologize. However when someone seems to be after him and Maddy he is not more concerned about staying alive and keeping those close to them safe.
Oh. My. Gosh the author knock it out of the park with this book and did not disappoint one bit. The book was completely high impact and not one slow moment from page one to the last page has you on the edge of your seat. You find yourself sucked in and you just can't put the book down. I have really enjoyed this series completely and this book was no different and it will not disappoint. Grab this series because you don't want to miss anything.

Lynette Eason writes such good suspenseful books and I find myself loving all of them , and this latest book in the series is no exception.

This book follows Quinn and Maddy. Quinn is recovering from his accident that took place in the previous novel, but he’s back at work on the force and they are hunting for a serial killer. Quinn and Maddy are expected at a birthday party but never make it and they wake up in a place that is unfamiliar. They quickly realize they are in the clutches of the killer who Quinn has been searching for. They have to work together to escape from him, and are only able to rely on themselves for it. No one knows the true identity of the killer.

This is a fast paced novel with some heart stopping twists as they get captured very early on in the book. Overall, a great read and I would definitely recommend it.

Maddy McKay and Quinn Holcombe have stuck by each other through good and bad, she is one of the Elite Guardians and he is a police detective. Quinn has just finished physical therapy to help him recover from breaking both his legs in the last book.

Maddy and Quinn find themselves in a mysterious room with a map on the wall. They soon find themselves in a race for their lives on a island full of booby traps trying to stay one step ahead of the man who calls himself "The Chosen One" who is hunting them.

Maddy and Quinn are forced to use everything at their disposal and their wits to survive the madman's game. But whatever they do, he seems to anticipate their every movement. Meanwhile back home, the rest of the Elite Guardians and Quinn's partner Bree are doing everything they can to find out where they are.

Maddy has moved on with her life after the controversy around her leaving the FBI, she is a good friend and loves her co-workers. She has loved Quinn for a long time, but doesn't see it ever working out long term. She is strong in her faith and challenges Quinn to face the demons in his past.

Quinn is irascible, but good at his job, Maddy get's to him like nobody else, be he's afraid that the things in his past will come to hurt her. I like how their situation brought them together and forced them to trust each other more, and face things head on.

An intense read full of suspense. I loved getting to read about characters from the previous books in the series, even though you don't have to read them to enjoy this book, it does make the characters more familiar. Fantastic read, and some serious The Most Dangerous Game vibes.

What a book! Usually when I'm reading an advance review copy of a book, I like to take notes for my review. But, with this book, I didn't have the time to take any notes because I was sucked in from page 1 and couldn't put it down! Such an intense combination of fast-paced action, twists and turns in an intriguing plot, memorable and relatable characters, solid presence of faith component! This book is actually my very first full-length Eason book I've read. I have read her novellas in different collections and I love this genre so I knew I will enjoy her books; my only regret is I didn't read her books sooner! Now I have to read the first two books in this series and all her other books (and not having read the first two books prior to this book didn't have any negative impact on my enjoyment of the third book in the series)!!
In the "acknowledgement" section of the book, I also discovered that Colleen Coble, Carrie Stuart Parks, and Ronie Kendig are her brainstorming partners. So....if you've enjoyed the mentioned authors' books but never read a book by Lynette Eason, I can guarantee you'll love her books, especially this one.

The premise is a little disturbing - a psycho/sociopath hunting down humans to fulfill a perceived mission. Quinn and Maddy are completely broken and hurt people on the brink of a relationship. The romance in the book is a bit unusual in the sense that it's not about two people meeting and falling in love as the story unfolds but about two people letting go of the past and barrier to be able to admit their long-held love for each other. And trying to escape becoming the next victims of a crazed killer.

The plot is well-crafted and totally worth staying up through the wee hours to finish the book.
The thread of faith is strategically well-placed in the story to let the reader know of its importance in the characters' lives and decisions.

Definitely looking forward to book # 4!

I was given a digital advance review copy of the book by NetGalley and its publisher. I was not required to write a favorable review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

This latest series from Eason is amazing. I am loving these characters and the plots so much. This one had so much suspense and mystery to it I almost felt like I was in the middle of a tv show or movie like Criminal Minds or something equally disturbing! I wasn't completely surprised by the ending or who the "bad guy" was but I was thrown for a couple loops throughout.

I really loved the importance of second chances and forgiveness in this story. But even more so I appreciated the fact that relationship with God was placed before romantic relationships even when feelings were quite strong.

Another aspect of the book that I really loved was the fact that in addition to the main story line there were also background stories for both Maddy and Quinn. Getting to know how their past influenced their present really added a great depth to this story that I find lacking in many books I've read lately.

If you want non-stop action, great romance, and lots of suspense then this is the book for you.

I can't wait to read book 4!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Moving Target by Lynette Eason tells the story of Former FBI agent Maddy and Police Detective Quinn who are on the hunt to find a serial killer and become his prey in the process. They become caught in this killer’s deadly web and frequently struggle to get out of his grasp. At times, scenes in this book are reminiscent of the Hunger Games and at other times, the book dives deep into personal issues of tragedy and connection. I highly recommend this book! I received a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

MOVING TARGET by Lynette Eason, the 3 rd in Elite Guardians Series. Maddy a former FBI now a bodyguard, sitting across table from Quinn. Quinn wants to recruit Maddy to help find the serial killer. There has been 8 victims in 6 months. Maddy is the best, she can get into his mind, but takes a toll on her, doesn't want to go back to doing. She mentions his surprise birthday party the next day, Quinn replies he's not a party person. Words are spoken, and Maddy leaves, Quinn was shocked by her reactions, knew he needed to apologies, he couldn't lose her. The party, they don't show up, guests wonder, did they take a vacation . The Chosen, does he have them, been sending notes. He feels he is fulfilling his destiny, needs 2 more victims. A race that begins, and doesn't stop till the end. The story flows, and characters are well define. You feel the emotions, from the beginning as Maddy wonders why she loves Quinn. He was too broken, damaged, to trust her, and let her in. The stress and roller coaster of being around him. You feel for her, and what Quinn is going thru, also.
ARC from Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Moving Target is book 3 in the Elite Guardians series and focuses on Maddie McKay and Quinn Holcombe. We first learned of Maddie in the first book when she was critically injured in an attack. At that time her life was hanging on a thread but she survived. She has an on again and off again relationship with Quinn. Maddie and Quinn are kidnapped by someone evil wanting to involve them in a cat and mouse type of game. He traps them and then sets them free on an island but can they survive. Did Maddie survive being critically injured to die so soon? I loved how the story unfolded. It kept me in suspense. I wound up staying up late to finish reading it. I read some other reviews that compared it to be like a combination of Hunger Games and Survivor. I kept trying to guess who the villain or villains were but this book took me totally by surprise. I look forward to reading the next book in the series which is Chasing Secrets that is due out Summer 2017. I am sure that it will be as suspenseful as this one.

Thanks to Netgalley and Revell for providing me a digital copy of the book to review.

Moving Target is the third book in Lynette Eason’s Elite Guardians series. Each book in this series is better than the last. Eason is hard for other mystery/suspense writers to top, so it is amazing that she continues to top herself. Her writing is fast paced, believable, and engaging.
I had lots of things that needed to be accomplished over the last two days, but very few of them were as I was totally engrossed in Quinn and Maddy’s story. Over the past few years, Quinn, a police detective, and Maddy, a former FBI agent turned body guard, have found themselves working cases together. A friendship developed in spite of Quinn’s prickly personality, with Maddy realizing that she has fallen in love with him. Quinn is much slower to embrace the turn in their relationship as he is holding onto a complicated past. While he may have eventually come around, having his world rocked by their becoming the targets of a serial killer certainly worked as a catalyst. Even so, Maddy comes to the realization that both she and Quinn have family issues that are best rectified before they take their relationship any further, not to mention Quinn’s tenuous relationship with his heavenly Father.
Quinn had hoped to convince Maddy to join the task force searching for a serial killer. Maddy, while interested in once again working with Quinn, was reluctant to use the skills to get inside a murderer’s mind; getting back out was not easy. The decision of Maddy’s involvement was made for them when both she and Quinn were targeted by the madman, or was it madmen? Who exactly was it who had whisked them off to an island of terror? What connection did they have to the previous victims? Even when it appeared that answers were in hand, more questions were just around the corner.
I highly recommend Moving Target to mystery and suspense fans. Fans of romantic fiction will also delight in this most recent offering by Lynette Eason. I thank the publisher for making a copy available to me in exchange for my honest opinion. I received no monetary compensation for my review.
