I really love all of Patricia Bradley's books! The elements of this story have everything I like - faith, romance and suspense. Add cold case stories and likable characters and the mix is wonderful!

Andi Hollister´s sister had been murdered 18 years ago - and her murderer is facing his execution day. Is it possible that the innocent man has been sent behind the bars?

I love Patricia Bradley´s work generally, so I am not happy to report that this book is a slower start into her new series (which I will read nevertheless, as I am a huge fan). While there is a twist in the end, it is difficult to write a good mystery when the reader knows the "identity" of the real perpetrator - the sleuthing of the characters/police investigation then suffers by some perceived (by reader) slowness or ineptness to catch the killer. And why would the killer even hunt for the missing items after almost 20 years?

But I like Andi´s personality and her being addicted to the painkillers. This is a realistic issue and it gives her an added depth. The same goes for Chloe´s sub-story, so sad a reality!
I also love how the romance was put on the backburner here, which adds to the steadiness and bases the relationship on stability.

Anything written by Patricia Bradley turns out to be a 5 Star read. No exception with Justice Delayed. It grabs the reader from the first line and holds on to you until the final line. I loved it. Fast paced and a clean read.

4 Stars!
I have read and loved all four books in this author's Logan Point series, and I was really looking forward to her newest release. Unfortunately, I have to say that I have some mixed feelings about this book because while there lots of things I absolutely loved about it, for example: Brad's overprotectiveness of his sister Andi, which made for some totally awesome moments; the camaraderie between Andi, Brad and Will; Will himself, need I say more? I just loved him; the mystery was very intriguing and kept me riveted to the page, and while I personally wasn't surprised by the identity of two of the villains I was surprised by another; the climax of this book was very fast-moving and suspenseful, I loved it and I also loved that it was totally different from any climax I think I've ever seen in a romantic suspense before.
There were also some things that bothered me a bit and caused me to knock my rating down to four stars, these things were: I spent a large portion of the book wanting to shake the main character Andi because of a very bad choice she kept making (not going to say what to avoid spoilers) it just really annoyed me that she refused to see the truth and I didn't feel like that thread was resolved as much as I wish it had been; this book had quite a large cast of characters and potential suspects and I sometimes had a hard time keeping track of them all; while I did love the climax I must admit that the ending did feel a bit rushed to me, it just seemed to end kind of abruptly leaving a few threads that didn't get tied up to my satisfaction, but it is very possible that those things will be resolved at a later point in the series; I know from personal experience that Faith and learning to trust and rely on God (which seemed to be the theme of this book, at least to me) can be messy and imperfect, but I was disappointed that Andi never seemed to make the choice to rely on God at any point during the book, I would have been totally fine if things hadn't been tied up in a neat little bow, after all life is rarely like that, but the book ended without me really feeling that Andi had grown closer to God or learned much of anything from her mistakes which definitely did leave me feeling a tad disappointed.
See what I mean about mixed feelings? No book is perfect and there were these few things that bothered me, however, I really did love the rest of this book and found it hard to put down. I recommend this book and I am looking forward to the next in the series, I'm hoping the author will write a story about Brad, as well as one about David and Maggie. I so want to how you get Maggie from the name Madeline? :)

A crime reporter works alongside a Detective to investigate if the right person is being charged for her sister's murder as he's about to be executed for the crime in this compelling thriller that has a little bit of everything to keep you engaged. The beginning chapters are a little overwhelming with too many characters and plotlines but it resolves itself after a few chapters.

The suspense in this book was riveting. It kept ramping up until the conclusion. I thought it was an interesting take to have the main characters try to save someone on death row and prove that he was innocent of the crime he had confessed to. I liked that there were enough bread crumbs for me to feel like I was figuring it out but not enough for me to have it all figured out before the full story was revealed. There were a couple of loose ends that weren't tied together by the end and weren't really explained how they fit into the story. I don't know if those parts will come into a later book in the series but I doubt it. Overall, it was a well written romantic suspense.

Justice Delayed by Patricia Bradley promises it all—romance, suspense, evolving characters with hidden motives, a convict on death row about to be executed, and a headstrong heroine battling a secret addiction. This book started out more slowly than most of Patricia Bradley’s books, but it did pick up somewhat once the groundwork was laid for the many characters involved in the plot. Patricia Bradley is one of my favorite authors, but this book is not one of my favorites. The main character’s personal struggle was well intentioned, but was not really delivered effectively. I look forward to the action picking up more in subsequent novels in this series. I received a digital copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.

This is an author who is quickly becoming a favorite. In Justice Delayed she once again creates characters who are believable. You become attached to the characters, as if they are good friends. This book, however, moves rather slowly. I would like more of her nail biting suspense, as in other books written by her. On the other hand, the situations presented in the book are very real, and work to pull the reader into the story. All in all this is a great book, and I would definitely recommend reading it. Grab a blanket and a cup of coffee or tea and get ready to fall in love with the characters in this story!

This story is book 1 of 2 of the new series called “Memphis Cold Case”. This story was very intense, suspenseful, well written and kept me guessing until the very end. There were several characters and relationships to keep up with, but by the middle of the book I wasn’t so confused. Because Andi and Detective Will are investigating a murder from almost 20 years ago, the book goes back and forth to past and present events so readers can get a glimpse of what happened.

This is one of those books that you want to read from cover to cover without interruptions because it’s so intriguing! I can’t wait to read book 2!

Although this is a clean book for adults, I wouldn’t recommend it to young adult readers due to the violence and other aspects of the book like alcoholism, drug abuse, physical abuse, murder-to name a few. This book isn’t graphic though and I really enjoyed it!

Justice Delayed by Patricia Bradley is compelling mystery sprinkled with clean romance.
Andi is an up and coming reporter who has a knack for getting into trouble. Her sister, Stephanie was killed and the killer is on death row. Andi's brother is Brad and his best friend is Will. They are now both police officers/detectives. Will's cousin, Jimmy, is on death row for killing Stephanie. Andi and Will are starting to develop feelings for each other after having grown up together.

There are a lot of characters and admittedly I got some of them confused at times. There were a group of women who were flight attendants with Stephanie when she was murdered. All of those women and their boyfriends are mentioned quite often. The main storyline is that we are starting to question whether Jimmy really killed her. There are several plot twist and it's a great who-done-it as we try to guess who killed Stephanie. I love the side story of Maggie and David and hope they get their own story in a future book. Brad needs some developing but maybe he'll get his story eventually. I will definitely read more by this author.
It has all the romance, suspense, wit and surprises that we love.

Sexual content - some attraction, and a kiss
Violence - Stephanie was murdered, some shots are fired,

Cold cases are fascinating to me. You know that someone out there has the answer, it's just a matter of finding that person. The other thing that I am intrigued by is a case of wrongful conviction. It's interesting to see the reaction of people when the wrongfully convicted person is exonerated. Don't the people involved want the correct person imprisoned?

That's where we find ourselves in Patricia Bradley's newest novel. There is a convicted murderer on death row awaiting his sentence in a little over a week. The crime was awful and it seemed pretty clear cut that they got the right guy, but then a letter that says differently brings doubt about the conviction.

Andi Hollister is a crime reporter and is closely related to the case. The victim was her beloved older sister. For years Andi has believed they arrested the right guy. But now things just aren't quite adding up. With the help of the Memphis Cold Case Unit she dives right in to find out the truth.

Will Kincaide is the detective assigned to the cold case. It's also very personal to him. The convicted criminal is his cousin. Will has never been able to believe that his cousin was capable of such an act. Now he has the chance to prove it.

If you've ever read a Patricia Bradley novel you already know you are in for a ride. The timeline of a week makes all of the action tight and intense. The continual twists and turns keep you flipping pages long after you should have put the bookmark in. I won't spoil the end but it was something that I didn't see coming until the very last. I enjoyed how developed the characters were. You could feel the agony of wanting justice yet also wanting to make sure it is the correct person. The tension between the facts and not wanting it to be so was palpable. If you love a little romance mixed in with a suspenseful story then this is the book for you!

There be tension galore in Justice Delayed!

Along with the romantical kind (not just one couple either!), there’s of course the action-and-suspense kind. But there’s also the added tension of racing against the clock to save a possibly-innocent death row inmate from being unjustly executed. Making that tension even thicker is the fact that Detective Will Kincaide’s cousin is the death row inmate in question. And the crime for which he’s about to be executed? The brutal murder of Andi (Will’s love interest) and Brad (Will’s best friend) Hollister’s sister Stephanie years earlier.

There are lots of suspects and not many of those that I could easily eliminate as I tried to solve the crime along with our cold case team (Will, being the only official member lol). Mysteries that keep me guessing are my favorites, and this one is nicely done! Enhancing the drama are the well-placed and well-written flashbacks that Bradley incorporates into the present-day narrative – as well as the chilling scenes told from the killer’s perspective.

Bottom Line: If you like a little bit of romance mixed with your suspense (whether you put the emphasis on ‘little bit’ or on ‘romance’), Justice Delayed will give you the best of both worlds. From the cold case to the present one and all the details in between, the tension remains high from the first word ’til the last. Because this is the first book in a new series, there are a bevy of characters to meet and not every subplot is tied up neatly at the end. Don’t worry, though! The main storyline is brought to a page-turning conclusion, and I expect that the hanging threads will be ongoing throughout the series. I’m already looking forward to the next book!

This was such an intense read, I was kept on my toes from page one. I really enjoyed the level of suspense in this book, and it was a standout in the christian fiction for that reason. I look forward to reading more by Patrica!

Overall, I really enjoyed the fast pace and interesting premise of this novel. The latter being the urgency to find a killer before an innocent man dies. I also found the twist in the whodunit to be fun. However, I had a couple of issues that are keeping me from rating it five stars.

First, maybe it was me, but I found the heroine a tad annoying and immature. She's thirty or thirty-one, but from some of her actions and attitudes, I kept seeing in my mind a much younger woman. Second, I didn't care for the abrupt ending. I won't discuss it in detail. I'll simply say the build-up to the climax really stressed the heroine's physical issue, but she sailed through that portion with no more problem or reference to it. Then the novel suddenly ended with an HEA but no resolution to her issue.

Otherwise, it was a compelling romantic suspense, leaving the reader eager to learn the truth and see the guilty punished.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher. My opinions are my own.
