Feel awful that my lack of organisation has meant some reviews on NetGalley haven't been updated...
I know I'm not remotely in the target audience for this, but I know I have to be aware of books that younger students might enjoy. Wilson is a perennial favourite, and it's lovely to see that each story she writes offers something to her readers without feeling like she's regurgitating the same old stuff.
While the settings and stories might be different, the characters are often the same. Clover Moon is a historical read - but her character could be an opinionated young woman from pretty much any time. That gripe aside, this will offer some readers a chance to dip into a new time and focus on relationships/events through a different lens.

This is another great book from Jaqueline Wilson, she is my granddaughters favourite author. The story is good and the readers learn lots about victorian England. Clover moon is a great character and and her trials and tribulations encourage the reader to keep on reading to find out what is going to happen.

Unfortunately I couldn't get into this, Maybe too young for me. The writing was too slow like Wilson still writes for younger audiences and believes them to not understand.

This is the first book I have ever read by Jacqueline Wilson and being WAY out of the intended age range I wondered if it would read too young for me but it was absolutely delightful.
When I say delightful I certainly don't mean the life of Clover Moon, the main character whose mother has died and her father has married a ghastly woman named Mildred who mistreats Clover so badly. Clover, despite being a child herself has to act as a mother figure to her many brothers and sisters and the other children who live near her. She strikes up a friendship with the man who owns a local doll shop and the scenes between them are really nice to read after the awful relationship she has with her stepmother.
I was really surprised by how real the writing is. It certainly isn't light for a children's book and doesn't shy away from difficult topics. I have found out there will be a sequel to it released next year and I will definitely read it.

Well, growing up I was always a massive fan of Jacqueline’s work and it is thanks to Jacqueline that I found my love of reading. I must also admit she is still one of my guilty pleasures.

Clover Moon is brilliant. It would appeal to older mature children and readers. This book is set in the victorian times and does include the subjects of death, poverty and even beatings. Clover Moon is written well and easy to read but does contain quiet long chapters for a children’s book, it is a long story but one I loved. There were characters I loved and characters I hated but I must say what a brilliant storyline and especially a nice ending, making the perfect children’s story. Children reading this story will also be learning about victorian times which is also a bonus.

I think Clover Moon would make a brilliant film. I awarded a well deserved five stars and would highly recommend this story to you all (yes, even those older children like me. Don’t be ashamed). Reading Clover Moon took me back to my younger years and I enjoyed reading every chapter of this, it has brought a big smile back to this face.

I loved this book and would highly recommend to 10-14 year olds. I've never read a Jacqueline Wilson book before, though I'm familiar with the contemporary Tracey Beaker series and know that she is an extremely popular author. The Victorian setting, childhood play on the London streets, the harsh life of a less wanted child of poor parents with many children are written with just the right level of detail. If sometimes Clover is a bit too nice to be believable, that is fine too. Her love of painting makes this a perfect book for an arty child as well.

This was a cute read, but I didn't enjoy it as much as some of her other books. But still a really good story for kids!

Jacqueline Wilson is a mainstay of UK children's books for a reason, and she delivers more of her dependable, familiar style in this addition to her works of historical fiction. The pacing was unremarkable and the plot fairly predictable, so I don't think it will stand out as one of her all-time greats. However, young fans will undoubtedly have snapped it up eagerly.

Another great book by J.Wilson. I really enjoyed reading it, as did my 10 year old daughtef.

This is a typical Jacqueline Wilson book - family drama centred around a feisty and slightly quirky heroine. This time the setting is Victorian, and although I think this will appeal to many Jacqueline Wilson fans (it is a common topic in primary school), as an adult reader I found it rather unconvincing.

Clover is a likeable heroine, with both admirable traits and an evil stepmother, and I'm sure sure many young readers will enjoy her story.

As fabulous as you would expect from Jacqueline Wilson, this is a book that will appeal to the younger reader. Told with warmth and a great deal of heart, I loved this book and would highly recommend it to all the young people in my family.

A fantastic 5 stars.

Clover Moon lives in Victorian Hoxton with a large family including a father, a 'wicked stepmother', a sister and several half brothers and sisters who all rely heavily on her to look after them.

I haven't read any Jacqueline Wilson for about 20 years and really enjoyed revisiting this author and meeting the unsquashable Clover. There are several other excellently illustrated characters in this book including Mr Dolly.

This book is set well in Victorian England, and whilst being true to the time and is no way a fairy story, Wilson does get across the gritty nature of an impoverished life.

I have to admit that I did cry several times when reading this, so I think that's a very good marker of a great read.

I feel like all of Jacqueline Wilson's book are exactly the same. Clover is likeable, but the story is pretty unbelievable

I love Jaqueline Wilson, and over the years i have used her books by reading them and reusing the stories to help myoungsters in my work.
So whether you are 8 or 48 or even 80 you can glean something from her books.

Clover Moon a Victorian little raggamuffin ,a 'mum' to her siblings at an early age and abuse and neglect sing out from every page.
It is extremely sad but such a compelling read that it doesn't take long to read!
Your heart will break for this child but will glow for some of the things she does.

I love the humour that has been used, some cheeky child humour that any adult can read into in their own way.
A5* book with a 5* cover something that really grabbed me too:)

I was enchanted by Clover Moon from the first chapter.
It is set in the victoriana era of London and is written with so much charm I felt like I was actually there with Clover.

My heart goes out to Clover as this young girl has been through so much heartache and abuse she is still determined to get her happy ending.

Clover lives with her Dad and younger sister Meg, their step mum and her children.

Clover's Dad comes across as broken since her mother passed away. He re marries and Clover's new step mum is cruel and bullies Clover, so much so she really hurts her one day taking things a step too far!

I wanted to take her away from the abuse and care for her.

Clover has to grow up quick and learns to be a Mother figure to all the younger children. Even though she is still a child herself. Clover is strong and incredibly determined and kind.

She builds up a beautiful friendship with an elderly man who owns a doll shop.
He is very kind to Clover and teaches her things.
Clover's Step mum hates him and bans Clover from seeing him again.
Does this stop her?! .... no way!!

Heartbreak strikes when her sister Meg gets I'll and passes away.
Clover can't take anymore and decides to set off on a journey to London to find a better life.

This book takes you on a journey and really touches your emotions.
There are some very raw subjects that are touched upon within the book, illness, death, physical and emotional abuse. Jacqueline handles these subjects in a way that the reader feels the emotions and lives out the pain.

This book is aimed at younger readers but I loved it.
I fell in love with Clover and wanted to look after her.
She really is a fabulous, Strong, determined young girl.
Fantastic book tugged at my heart strings.

I applaud Jacqueline for writing yet another amazing heartfelt book.

Fantastic novel from Wilson yet again. Small note for future titles - maybe time for a male lead?

Clover moon by Jacqueline Wilson is a middle grade and children's fiction read.
Clover Moon’s imagination is her best escape from a life of hardship in poverty-stricken Victorian London. When tragedy plunges her into a world of grief, Clover realizes that everything she loved about the place she called home is gone. Clover hears of a place she could run to, but where will she find the courage – and the chance – to break free? And could leaving her family be just what she needs to find a place that really feels like home?
This was a lovely read. I loved clover. She was my favourite character. 5*. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book from netgalley.

Review!

This book is everything you would expect from a Jacqueline Wilson book, it has been around 7 years from the last time I have read on of her works and this was no let down. Now some may think "Aren't you a little old to be reading Jacqueline Wilson books?", The answer is NO! The topics she writes about are still very inspiring for a girl at any age to read.

I cried at this book, I smiled during this book and I felt like I knew the characters, which JW always is able to make seem very real.

This book is set in Victorian London, in a small desolate alley, where Clover Moon, her father, Step-mum, sister and 5 half-brothers and sisters all live. Clover is the eldest child burdened with the responsibility of running a house at age 11, as her step-mum Mildred takes little to no notice of anything other than Clovers mistakes.Image result for clover moon art
When a fatal accident occurs in the alley, Clovers family is struck with the worse possible situation...Scarlet Fever has struck the Moon house.

Clover with the help of a dress maker, an old dear friend, an unexpected encounter and a prestigious house for girls in need, Clover gradually finds her skills and blooms into a bright, imaginative and creative girl. The thing about JW books is that regardless of how old you are you will always appreciate the underlying message of hope she puts across to her targeted audience and her inclusion of girls from all socio-economic backgrounds.

Jacqueline Wilson is and will always be one of my most favorite authors and if you are a fan of her yourself, regardless of age I would give this one a go. Its typical yet heart-warming and will stay with me for a long time.

I highly recommend this for readers of all ages who love a little heart-warming, easy read..it was delightful!

I found this book to be a slightly uncomfortable read but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I know these books are very popular with older Primary School children but I am not sure how relatable Clover Moon is to the children in my class. I think the reason for this is the time period that the book is set in.

Clover herself is a character who is interesting and engaging but I couldn't help but feel that we only ever really skimmed her life. Yes, we learnt that her Mother was dead and that her father had remarried and that she was bringing up her younger siblings but we didn't find out why her mother died, or how this had effected her. Her relationship with the doll maker was beautifully portrayed though. I felt that after she runs away and goes to the home for girls I felt that things were a little forced and all a little convenient.

There were some genuinely beautiful and heart wrenching moments in this book and for that reason I chose to give it 4 stars - but I am not sure that many children would feel a connection to Clover Moon in the same way as they do to some other Jacqueline Wilson characters.
