Ive read quite a few Amish books by Kathleen Fuller and WRITTEN IN LOVE is exactly why I love her stories! WRITTEN IN LOVE is the first book in the Amish Letters series. After reading WRITTEN IN LOVE I will read every book Kathleen Fuller has written. I instantly felt like I was sitting in Birch Creek, Ohio helping Phoebe try and figure out what direction her life was heading to. WRITTEN IN LOVE is filled with just as much hope as it is with uncertain feelings. My emotions were all over the place while reading and I was even holding my breath at some parts that I was afraid to keep going. How much more heartache and grief could Phoebe put up with?

WRITTEN IN LOVE is filled with struggling with the choices we have to make and once you start reading, it will be impossible to put down. Phoebe receives a letter addressed to someone else. Instead of throwing it out, she mails it back to it’s sender. Jalon responds back to her and their friendship begins through letters. Keep the tissues close by because this will be one heck of an emotional journey. Phoebe is a young woman with a child and lives with an aunt who is very strict. Will Phoebe ever find her place in the world and be happy once again? Kathleen Fuller does a wonderful job of teaching the reader what Phoebe is going through. Kathleen Fuller normally writes Amish Fiction, but let me tell you, she really knows how to write about family drama, heartbreak, and forgiveness. I can not wait to read more by this wonderful and heart tugging author.

“‘Dear Mr. Chupp’ – with those three words, a pen-pal relationship is ignited and two lives are changed forever.” (back cover) WRITTEN IN LOVE is filled with likable and relatable characters that will find their way into the reader’s heart. Kathleen has a way of grabbing your heart and just squeezing it until you swear it is going to burst. Then she hands it back to you, slightly bruised but still in tact. How an author can do that is beyond me, but I love when it happens. WRITTEN IN LOVE is going to stay in my heart for a long time to come. My heart is still aching for Phoebe after all she went through when her world came crashing down.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given.

Love reading Kathleen's books. She has a way of telling her story that has you hooked from the beginning

I love letter writing, so the meet-cute via postal service was one that caught my attention and was so sweet! For the amount of communication Jalon and Phoebe do in the beginning through letters, they have an awful lot of miscommunication once they meet in real life. Jalon is a private person and finds it hard to verbalize his feelings, which is probably why letter writing was easier for him than face-to-face interactions. Despite his reticence, Phoebe can see his compassion, kindness, and strength, especially with her son. I liked that neither of them are perfect, but they draw close to each other even though their flaws create conflict that they must overcome. I loved being back in Birch Creek from the author's previous series- it has a wonderful sense of community and Phoebe finds herself finally welcomed and not condemned for her past. The family members and neighbors of Jalon play a big role in working together to support Jalon and Phoebe and resolving many of the challenges they face. I'm looking forward to getting to know them more and seeing where the series takes them!

It is so easy to get stuck on rules and appearances that you miss finding grace.

Such a sweet story of grace in the midst of turmoil. The narration begins with a letter that was sent in error to Phoebe's aunt house. Phoebe in a letter returns the letter to Jalon and with a sweet letter, a relationship begins. Each of them hiding in pain of shame and regret. The letters turn into something more when they both realize how important these letters are to them. Jalon takes the plunge and expresses his feelings in a letter hoping that those feelings will be returned. However, when Phoebe does not respond, Jalon with the encouragement of a friend, goes to Phoebe's aunt to check on her. This meeting starts a friendship of learning to trust in love and the love of God.

Each of them dealing with past sins and hurt to move forward to love again. A real do over! The relationships were tender and raw has Phoebe and Jalon walk in faith. It was easy to fall in love with the characters as they struggle with faith and fear. Loved this one!

A Special Thank You to Thomas Nelson Fiction and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. I love how they started out their Friendship. This book was hard to put down once i started it. I would recommend it to everyone.

Phoebe is living with her mean Amish Aunt. She is making Phoebe suffer for her past transgressions. Jalon sent a letter to his disabled cousin and it goes to the wrong address. This book is about healing and forgiveness. I am sure that you will enjoy it.

Ever mail a letter and it goes to the wrong address? Did the wrong address resident mail you a letter back? I don't think too many of us have had that happen!

Imagine that it does happen AND that a friendship is formed between the sender and the receiver. This is what happened to Jalon Chupp's letter that was sent to Phoebe Bontrager by accident. Phoebe sends a small note with the letter back to Jalon, from there letters are exchanged.

Jalon and Phoebe both have made past mistakes, that each are afraid the other will judge. When one's impulse of the heart leads to the other's doorstep and at least one secret is found out, what will happen next between Jalon and Phoebe?
I can't tell you what happens next, you'll have to read "Written in Love" by Kathleen Fuller. It's the first book in Kathleen's new series Love Letters.

"Written in Love" by Kathleen Fuller is a page turner from beginning to end! Kathleen has out done herself again with this one. The words just flow through the pages giving the right details and words of encouragements and inspirations to readers.

If you are single for whatever reason and feel like giving up on love yourself, then this book is for you. It will give you courage to keep believing that there is a person out there for just for you.
If you are married, don't get discourage, there's inspiration for you, too, written in "Written in Love".

I look forward to reading the next book in the series by Kathleen Fuller titled "The Promise of a Letter". It's set to release on August 15, 2017.

I received a free copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review. No money was exchanged. This is my honest review in my own words.

Kathleen Fuller does it again…I love reading her books!

Phoebe and her son Malachi were living a very unhappy life with her Aunt Bertha. A letter arrived in the mailbox by mistake one day which started a friendship between Phoebe and the writer of the letter, Jalon. She sent him a short note to let him know his letter didn’t arrive at it’s intended address. He wrote back, she wrote again, and so on…they were penpals!

One of the bright spots in Phoebe’s day was the arrival of a letter from Jalon which she kept secret from her aunt. She also kept something secret from Jalon and he from her.

After exchanging a good many letters back and forth, feeling developed between the two. Could those feelings survive the secret they’re keeping from each other?

Pick up a copy of this well written book and find out!

I absolutely loved this book. I loved the way the book started out with just the letters going back and forth between Jalon and Phoebe. It allowed me to formulate in my mind what their circumstances were and enjoy learning if I was right or not later on. Such a sweet way for these two people to "meet" and strike up a friendship. It allowed them to focus on getting to know each other without the physical component.

This was a great reminder of the importance of not letting your past define you. Jalon had a hard time letting go of his past mistakes, and I'm glad the author wrote it that way. It made his character believable and relatable. We all have things in our pasts we're not proud of or regret. And sometimes, like Jalon we try to run from it. When his past came right in front of him, I could feel the tension and guilt rise. But the author did a beautiful job in writing these scenes, kind of gently nudging Jalon instead of nagging him.

I enjoyed Phoebe's spirit throughout the book. What really got me was how she never apologized for her son, and never referred to him as a mistake. In fact she would correct anyone that may imply it, even though not intentionally. She was a strong character who wanted to do right by her family, and placing other's needs in front of her own. She deserved to have something good happen to her!! She may have tried to make a few hasty decisions that I didn't agree with, but overall I really liked her character.

I loved the supporting characters, and although I'm not sure they'll be in a future book, I would love to see Leanna, Adam and Karen have their own stories. They deserve happiness too! Perhaps Ms. Fuller would contemplate that!! Amish fiction fans will adore this book. And be prepared to read it all at once - that's what I did!

I received a complimentary copy of this book through the publisher and NetGalley. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A sweet story...thanks for sharing it w/ me...have shared it w/ my reading friends.

I can remember when I was younger , I had a pen pal who lived in Scotland. I looked forward to his letters and read them over and over. It was like having a friend you hoped to see one day but until then you got to hear about their country. Phoebe is a sweet and kind woman. Something has happened to make Phoebe and her son Malachi come to live with her overbearing aunt. Oh I didn't like the aunt at all and wanted Phoebe to leave her as soon as she could.

When the mail is delivered one day, Phoebe notices that she has gotten mail not belonging to her. She writes to the gentleman named Jason . Now I don't believe in coincidences so I believe Phoebe was suppose to get that letter. They soon start writing to each other, but there are secrets between them. I loved how the author slowly developed their friendship . Will it turn into something stronger? I cheered when Jalon decided to go see why Phoebe had stopped writing so suddenly. It made me think of a knight in shining armor. Phoebe sure could use one in her life. I loved how Jalon stood up to Phoebe's crabby old aunt when he saw how Phoebe was being treated by her.

With nowhere else to go, Jalon takes Phoebe and her son to his farm. It's funny how their letter writing had turned into perhaps something more. It must have felt uncomfortable for Phoebe to go to someone's house she didn't really know well. What would you do if you needed to escape from a bad situation? I was quite surprised at the anger that Jalon showed when Malachi had disobeyed and put himself in danger. Was he angry at Malachi for not listening? Did he blame Phoebe for not watching her child better? Or was his anger directed at something else going on in his life?

Phoebe and Jalon have done things they regret and they have let themselves feel ashamed and not knowing how to forgive themselves. It seems it is easier to forgive others than it is to forgive ourselves. Do you think it is our pride that won't let us forgive ourselves? I loved when the author talked about worry. I'm so guilty of worrying about everything. Jolen and Phoebe are struggling with the same thing. "Worry was about living in the future and not the present. If we're focused on each day and not fretting about tomorrow, we won't worry."

I have fallen in with Malachi. He is a dear boy who is looking for acceptance and someone to tell him how important he is. Have you ever felt that you couldn't do anything right? The author has created characters that are easy to relate to. Their story is emotional and it shows that we all make mistakes, but we can't let the enemy use it to beat us up. I have enjoyed this story so much and have fallen in love with the characters. Wouldn't it be nice to see letter writing become something we do again? You never know when you may find a new friend. I'm looking forward to the next book in this enchanting story. I'm hoping to learn more about Karen and Adam.

I received a copy of this book from The Fiction Guild. The review is my own opinion.

If you, like me, love Amish novels, this one will not disappoint. This one begins when Phoebe, who is living with an aunt gets a misdirected letter from her aunt's mailbox. She returns it to its sender, along with a note. Jalon, the original sender of the letter, responds back, thus beginning regular correspondence between the two. The letters are a nice respite for Phoebe from her aunt's biting tongue and cruel treatment. They are also a bright spot in Jalon's life. After a period of time, deeper feelings than friendship begin to grow between Phoebe and Jalon. Things begin to get really interesting when Jalon suddenly didn't receive a reply from his latest letter to Phoebe. Becoming very concerned for her, he traveled to see her.
I do not wish to ruin this book for those wishing to read it for themselves, so I will end this saying it's a sweet story of young love, family, grace and forgiveness.
I was given an ecopy of this to read from the publisher Thomas Nelson and Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This novel opens with letters between two Amish young adults, which began because of misdirected mail. Readers learn to know Jalon and Phoebe much in the way they discovered each other. Eventually the text turns to telling their story in the usual way. Although attracted to each other, circumstances and past errors may keep them from a happy future together. My heart went out to these realistic characters for all they went through. The story’s satisfying conclusion fit the difficult tale. I recommend the book. I received a copy from the publisher upon request through Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Please Forward!

Ahh….It’s so lovely to get a new book written by Kathleen Fuller. It’s like a breath of fresh air! And so that is how I felt upon holding Fuller’s latest release, Written in Love, first in her Amish Letters series. Readers are in for a treat!

Written in Love tells the story of Jalon Chupp and Phoebe Bontrager. The two become pen pals due to a fluke. Each soon realizes that they need these letters – this life-line – in their lives. Yet both of them have secrets – secrets they are haunted by, secrets they fear to trust anyone with. When Jalon makes a surprise visit and shows up unannounced at Phoebe’s aunt’s door, their worlds collide. Will they be able to weather what heads their way next?

I was given Written in Love in exchange for my honest review. I thought it was fantastic. I loved the feeling that I was peeking in as notes were passed between friends! The storylines were gripping and compelling. I do wish the ending had flowed a bit better – either shorten it, or lengthen the novel as a whole – but overall I was mesmerized by Jalon, Phoebe, their friends, and family. Way to go, Kathleen Fuller!

Written in love is a conundrum if you ask me - it is a true love story of two people who never would have found each other except for the hand of Providence - isn't HE wonderful? Phoebe receives a letter from Jalon by mistake and she sends the letter back to him and he writes her back and there starts the letter writing and romance - with each person hiding a secret past which tortures them both and they hurt themselves by keeping those things a secret. Will they reveal their secrets and move on and let GOD enter their lives and heal? It is awesome though they do let GOD rule their lives for everything else but for forgiveness - redemption - they feel they need. This book is fabulous, faith-full, abounding in love, elaborate in it's plotting, and one of the most downright imaginative Amish books I have read in a while. I love this book.

Get ready for a unique opening and touching story in Written in Love by Kathleen Fuller!

This story opens letting us read the correspondence between Jalon and Phoebe. I was instantly drawn into this story as I read the letters sent between the two of them and had the chance to watch their friendship grow.

I was actually sad when the letters ended and the format of the book went to the usual storytelling. This was not bad in any way, but just shows how much I loved the concept of the letters.

The other thing I liked about the letters was the unique way they were to the story. I don’t think I’ve read any books that are letter format like this one was. Between the storytelling and the format, this got me hooked on the story that was about to unfold.

Phoebe has an overbearing aunt and my heart broke for her. Kathleen did a great job of helping me connect with the characters and feel their pain, especially that of Phoebe toward her aunt.

Jalon wants to meet Phoebe, but there is a difference between what is shared in the letters and how life truly is. Both have pasts and mistakes they have made.

This book was both engaging and relatable. With characters that I was able to get to know and feel their emotions made for an enjoyable read. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

I’ve never read a Kathleen Fuller book I didn’t love. Written in Love is a wonderful addition to my “Kathleen Fuller books I love” list. A unique story told in an original way made this story interesting and riveting. This was a book I just could not put down.

Written in Love tells the story of Phoebe and Jalon who meet when Phoebe accidentally receives a letter Jalon had sent to someone else. The two form a friendship of sorts by becoming pen pals. The book starts out with a series of letters written between the two. I loved the unusual way this story began. It was a neat way of being introduced to the characters and getting to know them.

The storyline of this book is great. I enjoyed the realness of it. Not everything is rosy for these two and this made me like them even more. They struggle with their friendship and different things in their lives but this just made the story more real for me. This book showcases the fact that the Amish don’t lead perfect lives and they have struggles and issues just like everyone else.

In her typical way, Kathleen Fuller has written a book with characters who are realistic and a story that is compelling and heart-wrenching. This is a must-read book for fans of the genre.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions are mine.

This story starts off with an exchange of letters. The reader doesn't know anything about the characters except what is revealed in these short letters. It was a very unique way to start a book. I wanted to keep reading! I found the beginning of the book rather slow moving. After a few chapters I was thinking this book was going to take forever to finish. But then! It started to get good. Secrets started to come out. The plot thickened and I was hooked. This was a book I had to finish in one day. I was rooting for the main character and had to find out what happened at the end. It was such a lovely story with beautifully painted diverse characters and settings. I love Amish stories that are outside the box... that don't paint a perfect picture of Amish life. I hope there are more stories about these characters.

I received a digital copy of this book from netgalley and the publishers in exchange for my honest review.
