This is absolutely stunning! The imagery is vivid and the writing is lyrical throughout. Perfect short read.

I realize I'm probably among the minority, but I disliked this book. Will have to mark this as DNF. The writing was simple and the story was insane.

Two great fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen, this book contains The Wild Swans and The Nightingale.

The Wild Swans
This tale is about a girl who is banished from her castle by her stepmom and so are her brothers. She grows up and wants to save her brothers and no longer live in poverty herself.
I really liked this fairy tale!
It did sometimes comment on 'The Lord' or some other sentences that made it seem very Christian, but it wasn't too prevalent.
The images throughout this story were wonderful!

The Nightingale
This is a fairy tale I've read before, but I nevertheless enjoyed it very much.
The story is about a Chinese emperor who wants the Nightingale to sing for his court. A member of his court soon designs a mechanic nightingale and it competes with the real nightingale.
This story was really nice as well, but sadly didn't have any of the wonderful drawings.

I would totally recommend picking up this copy, as it's a collection of 2 fun fairy tales with wonderful drawings inside!
