I really enjoyed this book, it was an accessible way of creating a meditation practice. Rebekah runs through everything clearly and in a good step-by-step way. she doesn't sit there and tell you that you need all this expensive equipment, in fact, she does the opposite. Definitely a good book to turn to time and time again.

This was such a long book, although it could easily have been condensed into a short blog post. The author uses personal stories to offer inspiration and then walks you through how to pose, where to sit, when to do, how to breathe, what chakras (sp?) to visualize, etc. for 20+ meditations to do things like get over grief, find love and lose weight. In each case, you get a long winded personal story and then lots of inspirational cheerleading with a smattering of quotes from famous motivational speakers and the bible , then you have some mantras to pick from that you say to yourself for four minutes. Ironically, it takes you a half an hour to read any of these four minute meditations.

I'm in the process of reading through some ARCs of books that I downloaded right before one of my kids had a health crisis, that sat on my Kindle unread. I'm working my way through them to finally give feedback. If not for that, I would not have finished this one. I really had to push myself to keep plodding away at it.

I was torn whether to give 2 or 3 stars, and ultimately rounded up to 3 because it will likely be helpful for people who enjoy this sort of thing and out of guilt for taking so long to review it. This will be a great book for some, but it wasn't for me.

A real honest and inspirational book that gave me a lot of great tools to use in life.

Apologies but I'm not able to review this book. The text as seen on my Nook is fragmented and too difficult to read.

Meditation seems like a huge undertaking. Being newer to the practice of meditation I have struggled to find time, space, and the quite that meditation so often demands in order to practice on a regular basis. This is why I was thrilled to discover Rebekah Borucki's book You Have 4 Minutes to Change Your Life: Simple 4-Minute Meditations for Inspiration Transformation, and True Bliss. While meditation is accessible to everyone, this book brings to the forefront how easy it can be to set aside time to meditate, no matter what. It's a practical guide for those looking to start the practice or those looking to grow their practice. Beginner or pro, you will love this book!

The author provides several personal stories throughout the book, making it easy to connect with her and relate your own experiences to the topics discussed within the book. Not only does the author share with you various poses and hand positions/gestures (mudras) to add into your practice, but she also shares some knowledge on chakras and how they can enhance your mediation.

I really enjoyed all of the various meditations in this book, however, two of them really stood out for me. The first was the Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway meditation and the second was the Release What No Longer Serves You meditation. The releasing meditation is one I have practiced each day since learning it. It helps me to let go of things not serving me and allow love and light to flow into my life instead of holding on to things that create stress and pain.

The Blessing in the Breaking, in Chapter 10, also really resonated with me. It helped me see my pain and my struggles differently. I love what the author says about the topic, "When you feel like your heart is breaking apart, it's actually breaking open and revealing the blessing." She reminds us that whatever has caused us to break has not changed the fact that broken glass still reflects light just as well as a diamond. Wow, what a wonderful outlook to have!
This book uplifts and helps you to see the good in life. Give it a try, believe me, you have four minutes to change your life.

I received this book from NetGalley for this honest review.

You Have 4 Minutes to Change Your Life by Rebekah Borucki provides detailed descriptions of how to get into meditation poses, briefly explains chakras and offers some personal stories while advocating the ability for anyone to reduce stress by meditating just a few minutes each day. Borucki subtitles her book: "Simple 4-Minute Meditations for Inspiration, Transformation, and True Bliss." She describes meditation for these different purposes and includes many specifics. Early chapters focus on connecting with ease or accepting where you are in the moment (and self-esteem) or for peace and calmness. Later ones deal with easing grief or cultivating gratitude, for example. The author emphasizes that by reading the book and trying meditation you will learn how to handle life's challenges better. The explanations are straightforward and generally helpful; referring to You Have 4 Minutes to Change Your Life in print form would allow the reader to underline and add post-it notes.

I think this book would be great for anyone wishing to start a meditation practice and not just those who think they don't have enough time. It really felt like a friend talking me through every aspect of the meditation process.

If I had one regret it was that I was reading this on kindle and what I really would have wanted was a physical book that I could refer to and put sticky markers in the pages. I have now ordered a paperback copy as it will work better for me.

I love Bex and have followed her Youtube videos for years including her popular section "You have 4 minutes to change your life" during which she interviews health and wellbeing personalities. I thought her book would be more of the same and was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be part memoir/part self-help.

This was a clear, simply written book that stripped away the mystery and complication of meditation, and made it real for every day life. It really helped me see that I don't need to "get ready" or "get set up" for meditation, it can be done anywhere, at anytime.

The format felt like a mix of personal story and instructional, told in a cohesive and flowy way.

I took my time reading it, mainly because I wanted to absorb and incorporate the knowledge into my life and my thought process. It's a very positive and informative read, and I'm happy I started the year off with it.

This was a very interesting read. It is part self help meditation and part auto biography, a interesting read. This is a time of year where many of us look and do our best to start over, live life better and gain control of our own happiness. This book is a great motivation tool for anyone looking to add meditation to their repertoire. I enjoyed reading it and I truly do believe that in taking time for self care you really can change the way you look at your life.
