A great story that kept me guessing to the end and I didn’t work out what was happening.

Punchy thriller that will add a zing to your TBR!

Stepping outside the box of general thrillers, this fast paced novel draws you in with building suspence and intrigue and spits you out the other end, while your head spins from the twists and turns.

Certainly a book for those seeking a light bite of fiction and a race through it's pages.

Enjoyable beach-read type of thriller. Some nice ideas, even if some of the characterisation is a weak, but still enjoyable enough to pass the time.

Although well plotted this just wasn't the book for me

LIES is a well written debut psychological thriller by T.M. Logan. This one is sure to please and will have you flipping the pages.

But the conflict between the two men turns violent, and Ben is knocked unconscious, Joe's young son has an asthma attack and Joe must leave the scene in order to get help.

When Joe returns to the scene to make sure Ben is OK, Joe is horrified to find that Ben and his car have disappeared.

And then Joe’s world falls apart! He starts to receive emails and text messages from Ben! Ben says he's going to take everything away from Joe ... his wife, his house, his son, his job!

Ben’s wife reports to the authorities that Ben is missing…and Joe becomes the suspect!

Joe must discover the truth to prove his innocence.

This is a well-written debut psychological thriller with well-developed characters, and an excellent plot. The first-person perspective worked really well through Joe’s POV. Fast-paced with lots of twists, turns and a major final twist that I didn’t see coming.

I had decided, early on, that Lies was not going to be as straightforward as it seemed. This helped me figure out some of the outcome of the story, but gave me my share of surprises as well. Joe was my favorite character, as he endures his fate as his life as he knew it changes. Lies is a fast paced thriller worthy of a read by those who are fans of the genre. I look forward to reading more by author T.M. Logan in the future.

I really enjoyed the book, it has everything I love in a novel from start to finish. I can’t wait to read what the author has planned next!

Lies by T M Logan was a great psychological thriller that I struggled to put down.
It was a gripping story that hooked me in from the first few pages.
Lots of twists and turns that I did not expect, just as I thought I could guess what was going to happen I was very much wrong!!
A great debut book I can't wait to read more by this author. Deserves 5 stars from me.

I really liked Joe’s character, although rather naive and at times found myself wanting to shout .... NO !!!

The premise of this story had be really intrigued, and I was not disappointed by the execution. The story moves at a really good pace, with new clues being dropped along the way, leading to a truly clever ending. This was my first book my Logan, but I will keep my eye on this author!

I love the cover of this book, it completely drew me in! This is a great debut novel, it captivated me from start to finish.

Joe is a family man who is happy with his life, has no reason to question anything. So when he spies his wife in a car park with a family friend when she should be at work, he is intrigued and follows her. From then on, his life changes beyond recognition.

The pace of this book is fantastic, it really grips you and the twists, wow wow wow!!!

Technology and social media play a huge part in the plot which adds an extra element of fear as we see how easily lies can be manipulated to appear as truth. Is anything real? Who can he trust?

You really feel for Average Joe and although he's not the most dynamic leading man, I enjoyed his perspective. I totally thought I had it all figured out around halfway into the book and I couldn't have been more wrong.

I love, love, LOVED this book. It's one of those 'just one more chapter' kind of books that you just can't put down. I whizzed through it like a tornado, not knowing what was the truth and what were lies and boy are there a lot of lies in this book, as you would expect from the title.

Joe thinks he has the perfect marriage, he is married to Mel and they have an inquisitive little boy, William. One day Joe is driving William home when William spots 'mummy's car', Joe humours him at first then realises the car isn't just the same make and model as Mel's it IS Mel's car. What is she doing going into a hotel car park when she is supposed to be playing tennis? Joe follows her into the hotel and sees her arguing with Ben, a friend of the family. Joe goes back to the car park with William and confronts Ben but as the pair square up to each other Joe pushes Ben and he falls. As Joe bends down to see to Ben, William gets out of the car with an asthma attack and there's no inhaler in sight. Joe's choice: check Ben is ok or save his son's life - no brainer, so Joe heads for home and returns later to find that Ben has gone so he must be ok, right? WRONG!

A few days later Ben's wife reports him missing and when she also uncovers a secret mobile phone containing naked pictures of Joe's wife Mel, the police focus all their attention on Joe. There may be no body but there's also no sign of Ben and as the evidence mounts up, it's only a matter of time before Joe is arrested for Ben's murder. Joe believes that Ben is still alive as he is posting on social media so Joe heads up to Sunderland, Ben's home town, to get proof of life and clear his name. I always enjoy seeing places near where I live in print, so it was a nice surprise to see Sunderland mentioned. Joe has no idea what he is up against or how much danger he is in...can he uncover the truth before it's too late?

Phew, what a scorching read; I almost got third degree burns I was flipping the pages so fast. I thought Joe was a bit of a weak house-husband at first, but when his family life is threatened he really steps up to the mark. He is so trusting that he believes everything he is told and wouldn't be able to spot a lie if it had a label attached to it. That was what was so great about the book: trying to work out who was lying and who was playing who. A couple of times I asked myself, 'is nobody telling the truth in this book?', then answered myself, 'er, the book's called LIES'.

Lies is a VERY impressive debut; I actually had to double check it was a debut novel. It's so addictive you really won't be able to put it down and it will have your brain in such a tizz that you won't be able to tell truth from lies, so don't even try to guess the ending!

I'm saying no more other than dont try and second guess the storyline just read the book and take in it.

I read this and then listened to it on audiobook Brilliant.

This was a gripping, psychological thriller that was hard to put down. It follows Joe, high school teacher and main caregiver of his son, William, as his life disintegrates at an alarming rate. After watching his wife, Mel, in an argument with Ben, the husband of Mel's best friend, Beth, Joe makes the fateful decision to confront Ben. What follows is fast-paced and with twists and turns all over the place. The author does a great job of integrating the dangers of social media into the plot. I was surprised to learn this is T.M. Logan's first book. Wow! I thought it was very well written and the plot was excellent. Joe was authentic and likeable and his first-person perspective worked really well. While I had my suspicions about one of the characters from early on, I didn't see the ending coming at all. I loved it! Although this required a little suspension of disbelief at times, I was so busy turning the pages desperate to discover the next bit that I wasn't unduly bothered by it.
I look forward to seeing what this author has in store next.

After collecting his son William from school Joe was driving home when they were stopped at a red light.
William spotted his mums car told his dad who thought he was mixed up but when he checked it was Mel's car it was going into an underground car park for Premier Inn hotel guests. Joe decides to surprise her and detours back to hotel car park.
William is excited to show his mum his school certificate he presses the lift button, when they reach the floor there's no sign of Mel then through a gap Joe sees her with her back to him and she's with Ben Delaney one of Mel's closest friends husband. Ben seems angry he's thrusting his hands and pointing Mel seems upset not wanting William to see this Joe takes him back to the car. While waiting for Mel to return to her car he spots her gets out his car telling William to stay where he is but he's too late Mel had already driven away.
Joe sees Ben getting out of lift Joe speaks to him he gets angry clutches at Joes shirt and thrusts him against his car he went to do it again that was when Joe pushed him away Ben then fell over his case slipped and banged his head hard on the ground Joe wasn't sure if he was breathing then he heard a sob William had gotten out of the car seen everything he was now having an asthma attack Joe rushed to car to get inhaler there was none so they rush home to get spare one leaving Ben. Once William used inhaler and was back to normal Joe returned to hotel to see if Ben was ok only thing is he's gone no sign of him or his car.
Great storyline lots of twists and turns loved it a definite must read.

I enjoy books that are set in places I recognise so from the get go this was a book I already felt would be a good one. However I didn't realise how good it would turn out to be! I was swept away with the angst and dilemmas that raced poor Joe but the writing was so good that it never became too obvious or trite. What a grea WTF moment at the end - something I didn't see coming. Great plotting and great writing. I'll be looking out for more from this talented author

This is a good solid modern thriller. It has a thrilling plot and a major twist of an ending. Worth reading.

I thought this book was great. Totally living in the modern world with an unexpected ending. Can't wait for more from this author.
