YES! What a good thriller. This is a book that you should read again when you've finished it, to see all those obvious things you've not registered. This is a book that I've read at the times that I was supposed to sleep, couldn't put it away!

Pros
Perspective: The POV in this book is so strong. You actually try to find out what is happening and what happened together with Joe. You don't know anything other than what he is experiencing and that's what makes you read the book while being in the dark all the way. Maybe I'm a little naïve, that I didn't figure out the plot, but I truly believe this was a really strong plot.
Plot twists: This is great! There is so much happening all the time, it's never dull and when you're trying to cope with something that happened, the next surprise is around the corner already. This book is filled with plot twists and a lot of WHAT HAPPENED THERE-moments.
Action: So fast-paced. A lot of action is going on and I did not have one dull moment in this book where I felt that it needed faster pacing. It was 418 pages long but that did not feel like it at all!
Couldn't put it away: So yeah, I was kinda tired today, because I kept reading. I was waaaaayyyy past my bed time.. And with waaaaaayyy I mean, like, 3 hours or so! I really wanted to finish the book last night, but a little rational voice in my head told me I had to work today, so I finished this book after work.

Cons:
Are you kidding me?

I need a thriller like this once in a while, a fast paced book where you try to figure out what happened together with the main character. Joe was so likeable and I felt a close connection with him. The plot was great, I did not figure it out and I would easily read this book again in a couple of years. Definitely a favorite!

That awkward moment you wish you'd kept on driving!!!! When Joe sees his wife's car he follows her and something happens then the story begins!!!....this was a great read even though it's written from Joes perspective and I wanted to strangle him sometimes as he was sooooo frustrating I thought it was a great read. The twist I didn't guess which is always a bonus and I thought the ending was perfect. Fast paced after the first few chapters and well developed characters too. A really enjoyable and gripping read for 2017!!!!

Lies, lies, more lies and lies on top of lies

Whee doggie...I loved this British psychological thriller.

Joe and Mel Lynch have been together for twelve years and married for nine of those years. Joe feels like a blessed man. He and Mel have a four year-old son, William, who is the light of their lives. They both have jobs they enjoy and Joe still loves his wife madly.

Then his world starts to fall to pieces. He and William are driving home one day when William recognizes his Mum's car. Joe follows it to an underground parking garage at a hotel, follows his wife in and finds her arguing with the husband of her best friend.

That's when this rollercoaster ride of a book really takes off and it doesn't slow down until the last page. And once I was finished with the book I was still thinking about it and trying to fit puzzle pieces together.

I didn't see the ending coming - at all - and that's unusual for me. So if you like mysteries, thrillers, or psychological suspense books I find it hard to believe that you'd be disappointed by this winner.

I received this book from Twenty 7 Books through Net Galley in exchange for my unbiased review.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this book. It was fast paced and held my interest throughout. I was interested in this book right out of the gate and wanted to know what was going on. I didn't find my interest waning as the book went on, I stayed engaged the throughout. I like a book with a surprise ending and this had it. Throughout the book, I assumed I knew what was going on and it was just going to be a matter of how it was pulled off, but I was glad to see that there was a lot more to it than I had thought. I liked this author's writing style, I didn't feel like he got overly bogged down in unnecessary scene description. I thought this book was very readable. I was really impressed that this was a first novel and I will definitely read the next book from this author.

An entertaining thriller, pacy and well written, but it lost me slightly at the ending. The plot is clever, and the author does a great job of gradually increasing the tension for the lead character, and by extension the reader, making this a book that is hard to put down. Joe, our protagonist is a very sympathetic character, a happily married man with a son he loves, whose world comes crashing down when he finds his wife at a secret meeting with an old friend in a hotel. Things go from bad to worse and soon he finds himself on the hook for a murder that might not have happened. Forced to try to clear his name before he is arrested, and unsure of who he can trust, he races against time to find out the truth and takes the reader along on a thrilling ride.
As I mentioned I was a little let down by the ending as the plot takes a turn out of left field that not only did I not see coming, but I felt didn't really make sense in the context of the book as a whole.

This is a great book, a modern day whodunnit that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Joe is a teacher who is also the primary caregiver for his son. After discovering his wife at a hotel with a family friend, the next week of his life is thrown into turmoil.

This is an easy read, that keeps the reader enthralled throughout with a surprise ending that does turn a little predictable.

Thanks to netgalley for a pre release version of this boom for an unbiased review.

If you love psychological thrillers, you need to get a copy of this book. This is a pulse-pounding ride of a story. Joe Lynch’s life starts on a downward spiral the moment his 4-year old son spots Mom’s car in traffic one afternoon. The first lie he uncovers is just the beginning. As the author takes us step-by-step through the deceptions you can’t help but wonder if Joe is being set-up or is he covering up? The final twist will take you completely by surprise.

Joe Lynch is an average guy, happily married, adores his son, and teaches high school English. Ben Delaney considers him an underachiever. When Joe confronts Ben about the affair he is having with Joe’s wife Mel, Ben threatens to destroy him. With each new day it seems more and more likely that Ben will succeed. I couldn’t help but like Joe from the beginning and continued to like him even while questioning his guilt or innocence. This story has lots of twists and the author keeps the plot moving forward at a good pace throughout. I highly recommend this book!

I love psychological thrillers so I was very keen to read this one after reading the description, and it certainly didn't disappoint.

It is full of twists and turns especially the latter half of the book. I did guess one part of it so that part wasn't a suprise, but the other twist I did not see coming. I can't say more without giving things away, so I will leave it there!

Overall a great book and I would definitely read further books from this author.

5 stars.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview LIES. Wow - This book captivated me from page 1 till the end.
Joe Lynch is an ordinary guy - he has a wife, child, good job, and all is well in his world. That's until one day when he is driving and sees his wife with one of their friends in a parking garage. Joe doesn't know what's going on, but he intends to find out. This detour changes Joes life the way he knows it. If you could change one thing you did in the course of a day in hindsight, you just might do it and Joe Lynch wishes he never followed his wife into that parking garage.
This is fast paced, written in first person POV, and takes the reader on Joe's roller coaster ride. One day he is a ordinary man, and the next he is a fugitive wanted for murder.
Logan does a great job getting the reader invested in the plot immediately and with a surprise ending, readers will be engaged till the very end.
My first book by Logan, and not my last. Recommend.

Sometimes, secrets are best kept that way.

T M Logan's debut novel 'Lies' is about that decisive moment when everything changes and you find out something you didn't want to know. That pivotal 'Sliding doors' moment, the seemingly harmless 'yes' or 'no' choice that sends your life down a particular path, whether you want it to or not.

Joe Lynch is a normal guy with a wife, a young child and a normal job as a teacher. Pottering around doing normal, everyday things, he sees something a little unusual and on the encouragement of his little boy, William, he makes an innocent, snap decision, and suddenly, his life is irrevocably changed. In less than two weeks, Joe finds himself go from Mr Normal, to someone who suspects his life is not based on the solid foundations he thought it to be. Oh, he's also arrested on suspicion of murder and realises he doesn't know his wife, Mel, anything like as well as he thought he did. Bummer.

Joe narrates his forced descent into hell and we are quickly drawn into his nightmare, spending most of the book trying to figure out what on earth is going on and how is Joe going to get out of this - as is poor Joe! Trial by social media, trapped by technology and ostracised by his friends, you can't help but root for Joe even though he makes some bad decisions - his naivety is one of the things that makes him seem so normal.

All in all this is a great read - I read it in two sittings and the time just flew by. There are quite a few twists and turns; it's a story full of surprises! The ending seemed a little far fetched, however I do think this would work really well on screen. I look forward to reading more from Logan.

WOW, what a debut - great writing, great build up and an absolute I did not see that coming slap in the face ending. Thank you Mr Logan, can't wait to read Every Good Deed.

LIES BY T.M. LOGAN

Wow, this was a fast paced psychologias above average and pulls you in from the first page and doesn't let you go. This is probably tcal thriller that is fresh and unique in that it is told by the main protagonist Joe. The writing whe best psychological thriller that I have read this year. I have read too many and most of them follow a cookie cutter writing style. Not so with this one. This book begs the question of the consequences of a single decision we make and how much that decision can change your whole life.

Joe is driving his son William, whose favorite game is to pick out other cars on the road and name them. William says to his dad Joe that he just saw mummy's car. Joe notices that the car does in fact belong to his wife because he has memorized her license plate and it is surely his wife. Joe's wife name is Melissa but he calls her Mel. Mel just turned into an underground parking garage at a hotel. William asks Joe if they can go visit mummy and Joe reluctantly follows his wife into the same parking garage. Joe and William go up into the hotel and he sees Mel arguing with Ben who is their friend.

Wanting to shield William from the altercation Joe and William make their way back to their car. In the next minute Joe sees his wife Mel walking briskly to her car. Joe yells out his wife's name trying to get her attention, but Mel doesn't hear or see Joe and she drives out of the parking garage. Next Joe sees Ben walking towards his vehicle and Joe asks Ben why he was arguing with Mel. Ben starts acting belligerent towards Joe and things get physical. Joe pushes Ben away from him when Joe hears William's voice and Ben falls to the hard floor and bangs his head and is unconscious. William starts having an asthma attack and Joe looks in the glove compartment for William's inhaler but it is not there.

Joe is suddenly in a quandary about getting Ben some medical attention or William who is deteriorating with the asthma attack. There is blood coming out of Ben's ear and Joe tries to wake him up. Joe decides he will rush William home as he panics and once William has his inhaler he stabilizes. Joe then calls the hotel and tells the young man who answers the phone that there is an unconscious man laying on the ground. The hotel employee is not cooperating and isn't getting help for Ben. When Joe's wife arrives home he asks her about her altercation with Ben and she lies to Joe at first and then says Ben was wanting her help concerning Ben's company business.

At this point the twisty turns start and Joe's life starts getting very difficult. If Joe just didn't make that impulse decision of following his wife would he be in this mess? Joe comes across as a sweet father to his son William but at times he is naive. This is a fast paced roller coaster ride with plenty of action and suspense. There is a shocker of an ending also that I didn't see coming. Fantastic for lovers of psychological mysteries and thrillers. There is a lot of suspense and surprises in this one.
I would highly recommend this book. 5 Stars.

Thank you to Net Galley, T.M. Logan and the publisher for providing me with my digital copy for a fair and honest review.

When Joe Lynch sees his wife going into a hotel during the middle of the afternoon, his curiosity gets the best of him and he follows her in. After seeing her in an altercation with a family friend, Ben, he comes to her defence and ends up taking part in a brawl. When Joe’s son has an asthma attack during this argument, Joe makes the quick decision to leave and take his son to safety. After this, Joe is filled with guilt about the fight and tries to apologise to Ben. But Ben is missing. And Joe is a suspect.

Lies, the newest psychological thriller by TM Logan, takes readers on a path of secrets and revenge. I read this one as a buddy read with Danielle at The Blonde Likes Books (you can check out her review here). I found this novel to be fast- paced and complex; this plot had me hooked from the first pages.

The novel opens with husband and father, Joe and his son, William, out participating in their normal afternoon routines. William sees his mom’s car (Mel), and Joe, trying to surprise her, follows her into an underground parking garage at a hotel. After seeing her in a fight with her friend’s husband (Ben), Joe confronts Ben in the parking garage and knocks him unconscious. Later, when he tries to seek repentance for this action, he finds out that Ben is missing. Joe quickly becomes a suspect and, as his life unravels all around him, he begins to realise that everything he knows has been built on lies. As he fights to find out the truth, and clear his name, he finds himself in grave danger. From the first page, this novel unfolds with non-stop action.

The novel is narrated fully by Joe as he struggles to find out the truth. I enjoyed his character and found him to be endearing but incredibly naïve. I felt physically anxious as Joe becomes more entrenched in the investigation and, in turn, accidently implicates himself. He truly is an ordinary guy who finds himself in a mess, partially because of technology and social media. This was one of my favourite features of Lies; I loved that this novel toyed with the ideas of social media, technology and how crucial it can be in a developing a person’s perception of a situation.

Although I found most of the novel to be considerably predictable, I was pleasantly surprised by the ending; it truly came out of left field.

Overall, I enjoyed this novel and I believe that fans of psychological thrillers will enjoy this one too! I gave it 4/5 stars!

Wow what a great read. A really intriguing storyline which was made more interesting by the use of social media. The characters were well written and believable. I really felt for Joe and wanted him to piece things together and work out what was going on. There was a great twist at the end which really changed everything and added extra depth to the story. Well done, a fab debut novel. I will be looking out for future books from this author.

Spine chilling, scary, nerve wracking, on the edge of your seat reading. I know these are all cliche's but this was how I experienced this book. I was afraid for Joe the whole time whilst reading Lies. Some of the scenes it felt as if it was happening to me, all the emotions that I experienced. This book was absolutely brilliant and it will go to one of my top reads for 2017. Brilliant characters and great writing that pulls you into the story, a book that you can't put down.
Thank you to Bonnier Zaffre and Netgalley for the copy. I will recommend this book to all my friends!!!!

Thanks so much for the opportunity to have read this book.
From the start you question everything you read, don't know whether anything is the truth or not. I couldn't stop reading it, because I just had to see who the bad guy was!
The plot unfolding was done just brilliantly and the book is really worth the effort. Do read it please.
