As a licensed therapist in private practice, I wish I would've had the chance to read this book in graduate school! It's full of helpful, and useful, information and insights into nonsuicidal self-injury. I loved when Dr. Hollander stated, "Your child isn't "weak" or "defective" but simply endowed with a Ferrari of an emotional engine". What a fantastic, and strength-based, metaphor that I plan on using in my own practice.
