I requested this book via NetGalley and received it in exchange for an honest review.

I thought, for the first 1/3 or maybe even 1/2 of this book, that this would follow The Formula-- you know, the one where you can predict pretty much everything happening exactly the way it typically does in books like these. And while, in some ways, it absolutely did follow The Formula, it did do it in a unique way, and it took longer than I might've guessed. It was funny (loud-out-loud, even, at times) and so wholly Sophie Kinsella that I'd recommend it to those of you who, like me, really enjoy her writing and her stories.

This one is probably among my favourites of hers.

This was very “The Devil Wears Prada” at the beginning but it ended up being a romantic, pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps sort of book. It makes you think about how you would bounce back from having your hard work and dream crushed and what kind of person you would want to be. This was a brain candy sort of read but very enjoyable.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley for review consideration.

I haven't always liked this author's work so I wasn't sure what to expect when reading this one. I really, really enjoyed it! I liked the main character's journey and the ending was sweet.

Sophie Kinsella does not disappoint. By far this is now my new favorite book by her. Great humor. Interesting characters.

This was a light read, typical Sophie Kinsella chick lit - part romance, part I Love Lucy comedy. When I pick up one of her books, I know what I'm getting into, so I'm never disappointed, and this one didn't disappoint.

This book was hilarious! A bit mean at times though, I think the revenge part was taken too far. All Katie had to do was to take pride in what she accomplished back home and said this is what I am capable of but instead she chose the immature path. The book redeemed itself in the end though. I'm glad Katie realized her dream and made it happen even if I prefer it done another way.

Funny and emotional. Pretty typical of Sophie Kinsella.

I think that this book will serve as a reminder that everyone is human. Everyone has issues that no one else can see. Be kind to one another

ahhh a typical, predictable sophie kinsella book and i LOVED it. i didn't think i would like it as much because the synopsis sounded kinda eh - i feel like i've read a ton of books or stuff lately about people putting the perfect on social media and not believing it, blah blah blah, but as usual sophie kinsella was absolutely delightful. the book did start off a bit slow and take a bit to get really good, but then i couldn't put it down. i loved the characters, i love love loved alex. so good. kinsella always manages to weave in serious things with light things, her books are funny, light, fluffy, serious and sexy. this might be my favourite yet. i loved watching the characters grow and develop. once katie got fired, the story moved a lot quicker. i just really liked it! thanks netgalley!

First off, I've enjoyed ALL of Sophie Kinsella's other books, iesoecially love the Shopaholic series, I was really looking forward to reading her newest work. It definitely wasn't a terrible other waste of time read, but I just couldn't get into the story. I think it may have been just a young character I couldn't relate with. I still recommend it to fans if chic lit and the author. Thank you for the opportunity to read.

My Not So Perfect Life is a fun chick-lit read. Katie (Cat) Brenner is living in London and working in the world of advertising for an oh-so-perfect woman who has it all: the high powered career, the perfect kids, the husband, the social life, and the perfect house. Katie is paying her dues, sharing a flat with 2 terrible, off the wall roommates, and dreaming of the day she'll get her perfect life too. After Katie is let go from the agency due to cutbacks and is dismissed by a boss who can't even remember if she had fired her yet, Katie moves home to help her father and stepmother with their glamping business. When her former boss and seemingly perfect family turn up for a glamping reservation, Katie is faced with an unexpected opportunity - will she use it to seek revenge? Or to get another shot at her dream life?

I find Kinsella can be hit or miss for me and when I started out this one I was thinking it was going to be a miss. It reminded me of a mish-mash of Bridget Jones and The Devil wears Prada and I found myself rolling my eyes a lot. After awhile however, I felt Kinsella made it more believable and heartwarming. There were her normal slapstick scenes but she never took them too far and all of them advanced the story line. You ended up routing for Katie as she grew and loved the 'perfect' life she ended up with.

Cat/Katie is making her way from small-town farm girl to big-city gal. Her boss is a dolt with connections, and no room for competition. She meets up with one of the firms partners and some typical chick lit adventures ensue. This isn't my favorite book by this author, but a good palate cleanser.

Most of the time when I pick up a chick-lit book, I am looking for something lite and easy on the thinking brain cells. That being said, I do find the occasional story that lifts my heart and makes me reflect on my life. Not My Perfect Life by Sophia Kinsella has done this. As I follow the situations and issues Katie, a.k.a. Cat faces within the story, I reflect there are times that I do judge a book by it's cover or a person by their actions. I also find that there are times that I am in a similar situation as Demeter when people judge me by my actions and reactions. We all handle situations based on our experiences and how we interrupt people, places and things through the lenses of these experiences. A story like this one reminds me to be open, honest and nonjudgmental with myself and others. Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this wonderful story.

I'm a big fan of Sophie Kinsella. This book, however, wasn't as "fun" as her previous novels. It took a while for me to get interested. I get that it had a "bigger message" but I miss the fun books where I can get lost in something fun from Ms. Kinsella.

I loved this book. It was a refreshing tale about a girl struggling but preserving throughout those times. But what I really loved is that the main "enemy" in the story had a complicated story and is given a background. It isn't just a woman hating another woman, but taking the time to really explore their characters. I was laughing out loud and invested in the story.

I haven't read Sophie Kinsella in a long time, but this story was refreshing and light., if a bit juvenile at times. It's good for some laughs, though an doesn't disappoint. Cat AKA Katie is a riot and makes the story worthwhile.

Loved this laugh-out-loud funny story! You've got office antics and a touch of romance, told in a truly hilarious way - what's not to love?

Sohpie Kinsella is pretty much a sure thing when it comes to the feel good, chick lit genre. You pretty much can't go wrong with her if your goal is to shut out the outside world for a moment and enjoy a bit of humor. Escapism at its finest.

We have Kate/Cat who is trying to make it big in the branding business in London. She runs into a bit of trouble with her boss and things go all over the place from there. I have to say, I did have a lot of mixed feelings about some of the antics here. But I'm glad to see how it all wrapped up in the end.

I really enjoyed the characters and the idea that nobody is perfect, no matter how hard they try to prove it to the world.

A great summer, beach read!

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Loved it!
