Loved all the color and excitement in this book. I read it with my nephews and they loved looking at all the little chickens and talking about what they were doing. This book entertained them for over an hour! They loved all the detail of the country fair, and got such a kick out of trying to count all the chickens before the other one did. It was clearly a hit. They also really enjoyed the rhyming and repeating along with me as we read.

This rainy afternoon I settled down in my reading chair and snuggled in with both of my kids to read Count Your Chickens by Jo Ellen Bogart. The book was perfect for both my children (aged 2.5 and 6). It captured their attention with the sing-song like rhymes and vibrant illustrations. Even my youngest enjoyed the finding the chickens in their funny outfits in their exciting locations.

These chickens have a ball riding trains, ferris wheels and much more. Your children will love laughing along as you read, finding and counting the chickens. Any book that combines silliness and learning is a hit in my house! Add in chickens in clothing and you have a sure winner. I highly recommend this book to families with little ones – or anyone who is just a fan of chickens.

I love this book about chickens everywhere. The illustrations are fun and the rhyming makes you want to keep turning the pages. This would be a great book for read-aloud.

So many silly chickens on each page! However, I wish there had been counting instructions on each page, too.

Clever little counting book! I thought it would be like a 1 chicken , 2 chicken, etc... I was pleasantly surprised to find another take on counting! Kids and their caregivers are going to enjoy this book. I loved the illustrations and seek and find in them! Fun!

Count Your Chickens is a colorfully illustrated book that does more than just count chickens! The story is in rhyme format and the storyline follows most of the chickens in town as they head to the county fair. A lovely storybook for ages 4-8. Little ones will enjoy the funny clothes and situations the chickens are in, and older children can participate in the counting aspect of the story - there is a handy question/answer guide in the back for added activity.

I look forward to recommending this title - thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Publishing Canada for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Count Your Chickens is an absolutely adorable children's book featuring rhyming text and fun illustrations that fill the pages.

Not only is Count Your Chickens entertaining, it's educational. With graphics of each page depicted in the back of the book, child readers are encouraged to count the various numbers of chickens. An answer key is available, thus allowing children to read the book and practice counting without the aid of an adult.
