It’s a pleasant story with a cute couple, and I was happy to see again previous couples but it was too short as always with novella.

Daphne was going to the Full Moon Bar in the French Quarter . The bar was owned by Angus- Daphne’s Alpha. Daphne had been back home in New Orleans for a month. She hadn’t had a chance to get out much as she was still getting settled into her new program at school. Daphne was letting loose tonight. Part of her hoped Hector was working tonight as he was the sexiest shifter Daphne had ever seen. He had rejected her four years ago but she had changed a lot. Daphne had been best friends with Leta who was Hector’s sister and she had crushed on Hector through HS. Daphne was a lupine shifter and could defend herself against most things. But lately Daphne felt like someone or something was watching her. She didn’t have any proof but she never ignored her animal ability to sense danger. When she got to the Full Moon Bar she could sens Hector looking at her and she ignored him. He was at a table with a very pretty woman. Then Daphne scented Hector near her and he said to her “ too good to say hi to me?” Hector always went out of his way to make people feel at ease. Leta is pregnant and daphne and Hector talked about that for a bt. . Hector said he was going to talk to Angus about it- Angus was his boss but he totally trusted Hector even though he was a jaguar shifter and didn’t belong to a pride. Hector was clearly aware of Daphne now. Hector moved to New Orleans to take care and be with his sister Leta- she had always been his priority. Hector asked Daphne to dance Being so close to him made it hard for Daphne to think straight. Hector may want her physically but not for the long distance he had made that clear four years ago. Although Daphne didn’t know shortly after her eighteenth birthday Hector had noticed her for more than Leta’s friend but she was so young and he was ten years older than her. But she was older now. Daphne was on the dance floor with another shifter. Hector walked straight to the dance floor and told the shifter-Jesse- to get lost. When Daphne asked why Hector did that he said he didn’t want anyone touching her but him. Daphne had tutored Troy at school and then he became obsessed with her but he was human. But now he shows up at her apartment and he is a new vampire. Hector had caught him slipping around in the shadows until he got to Daphne’s place. But Hector had already pinned him then Daphne said she new Troy. Daphne felt Troy was stalking her. She didn’t want to tell Angus because she knew what would happen to Troy. Hector tells Daphne he was staying the night. She informed him he would be sleeping in the guest room but he sleeps-just sleeps in her room.
I loved this book It was a novella but had everything it needed in it. It kinda ended in a cliffhanger but it wasn’t too bad and you at least knew where it was going and why. This was a short intense romantic read and I loved it. I loved Hector and Daphne together and how they interacted with each other. I loved the pace and plot. I read this at one sitting. I loved how protective Hector was of Daphne but also Leta. I was glad when he killed Troy. Happily I found nothing to criticize in this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

His Untamed Desire by Katie Reus is a short, sweet paranormal romance with danger elements in the form of a dangerous, unstable stalker. This is the story of wolf shifter Daphne and jaguar shifter Hector. Daphne has moved back home to the pack after having been away at school. Daphne has crushed on Hector since before she left – but, he hurt her when he rejected her advances back then. Now, that she’s back, she’s determined to make him notice her as a woman.

I thoroughly enjoyed His Untamed Desire even though I wanted to shake the heroine for much of the story. That’s a first for me with one of Katie’s books – probably because my son has had a recent experience with a stalker of his own. Daphne was just too naïve for me for most of the tale. Hector was an alpha, growly and hot! I loved him and the plot… and, thankfully, Daphne did come to her senses acknowledging the very real danger she was in, near the end.

Katie is one of my favorite authors. Basically, if she writes it, I want to read it. His Untamed Desire is a sexy and gripping paranormal romance. It’s a must read for fans of the series as the ending sets up the next Moon Shifter book!

Thoughts: No one does paranormal romances like Katie Reus. Huge fan that I am of her, every book she issues is a one-click buy for me. And this hits on one of my favorite troupes, the friends to lover troupe, with the added best-friend’s brother angle thrown in. Reus does that emotional angst and craving like nobody’s business – you practically feel your chest clench with emotion as you read. This one was perfect – a little short, but that’s okay….Reus knows how to make use of the pages she gas, and you never feel cheated in her books.

I love when I find a great paranormal romance and especially a shifter book but unfortunately that was not the case with His Untamed Desire. I don't know if it is the fact that I haven't read the previous books in the series or if it was due to it being a novella that the story just lacked depth, but whatever it was i had a force myself to finish instead of it being a dnf.

Daphne was immature, naive and disrespectful at times especially to her alpha. She rubbed me the wrong way from the very get-go. Hector I wish would have grown a set and not only claim her as his mate but to set her straight more than once. I don't know, I felt there was zero chemistry or connection between them.

I do not think I will be reading anymore of this series because I just don't see it getting any better unfortunately.

This was a fun read! It was short, but Katie Reus did a great job of creating fully developed characters and a complete plot. It was a great take on best friend's older brother. I liked Daphne. She was strong and independent. She took her opportunity to leave for college to figure out who she was and what she wanted. Hector - hmmmm everyone should have a Hector in their life. Not only was he yummy, he understood Daphne needed her time away to be who she was supposed to be.

Reus' story move quickly, but it never felt rushed or half-done. She resolves the conflict in this story while setting up the next one. This was fun and awesome short read!

Katie always writes amazing paranormal stories. I wouldn't say that this one disappointed me but I did feel like it wasn't as well rounded as her other stories have been (the ones I've read anyway).

Don't let my dreariness discourage you from reading this because it was still a great story, just a shorter one than I've come to expect from this author.
These pages contain one smoking hot jaguar shifter who puts the A in alpha. The heroine isn't a timid little mouse either.
If you like shifter romance (with the occasional vampire popping by) you will enjoy this book.
