This is a review of the full book.
In this final installment of the Thunder Road series from Katie McGarry, tensions are running high. Violet's ex-boyfriend Chevy is still involved with the Reign of Terror MC, and she's still attracted him. I don't blame her! Chevy is totally swoon-worthy, and his emotional pain from losing Violet is written all over him.
When Violet's car breaks down one night, Violet and Chevy are thrown into a terrible and dark situation with a rival MC. In the process, they uncover secrets that rock their world and everything they believed about people they loved. As Violet and Chevy try to find the truth, they both uncover truths about themselves that may keep them apart or help them find a way to be together.
I loved this couple. Violet is strong-minded and strong-willed. She's not willing to give up her personal rights for anyone, even Chevy. I loved that about her, although it was clear that it also tore Chevy up. And Chevy knows one thing -- he loves Violet. He's got a heart of gold and the depths of his feelings are written so beautifully, I felt that love on the pages.
There's a lot of family drama going on here, mostly centered around the influence the Reign of Terror has on their lives and decisions. Katie McGarry peels back the layers of what it means to be family in much the same way families do -- sometimes delicately, sometimes brutally.
With a wonderful tie-in to the Pushing the Limits series, Chevy uncovers his truth and I loved how these two series connected. I was definitely a bit happy and teary-eyed at the same time. Violet's transformation was equally satisfying as she resolves who she can trust and what's important to her.
This is not a simple YA love story. There's a depth to Long Way Home that made me fall in love with these characters and want to know how they would find their way. I'm a little sad the series is over, but I'm looking forward to what is next from this author.

Great sample. I can't wait to read the rest of the book. I am not posting any review yet as I need to read more of the story before I can give it an accurate review.

This was only a sampler, but it seems like it'll be good.

I love this series so much!! Violet has been one of my favorite characters from the beginning, so I was so excited when I found out she was getting her own POV! I was expecting great things from this excerpt, and I got exactly that. I can't wait to finally read the rest of this book!

Because I only received a digital sample I do not have enough to say for a review but if you are into bad motorcyclists boys and a very hot and heavy relationship I very much so recommend this read.

As always, Ms. McGarry is a brilliant story teller. And since this is on a digital sampler of Long Way Home, it is just making me want more. Very excited for the release of this book.

the latest installment of the thunder road series, long way home, gives us chevy and violet's story. both of them have grown up in the reign of terror motorcycle gang. their fathers were both members, but they both struggle with living in the gang and its culture and having a normal life.

i have to say, i've read each book in this series, and i struggle with the culture. i know we are supposed to see the gang as the heros, but the way being a member of the gang controls the life of everyone involved, even those who didn't choose the life, is so hard to swallow. i have rooted for every one of the guys in the previous novels to leave the gang behind, so i'm sure i'll be disappointed in chevy, even though out of all of them, he stands to gain the most from leaving the motorcycle life behind.

he's an all-american guy, the star running back in his football team, someone who has so much possibility if he dares leave the reign of terror behind. but his grandfather was the club's leader, now his uncle eli runs things, but he's on the track to run things too, if he wants it. he's not sure what he wants. his mother would love it if he took a step back. and then there's violet, whose father died on club business, and who is dying to leave the motorcycle club and their small kentucky town far behind.

they broke up when it became clear that chevy would choose the club over her, but will he keep making that choice as they face unspeakable danger? violet would do anything for chevy, chevy would do anything for violet, and being mixed up in dangerous club business could get either of them killed. so who knows where things will go?

i don't know, because i only got a sneak peek, and i'm dying to see what will happen on page 64. page 63 was kind of a cliffhanger!

as conflicted as i am about the motorcycle club, especially the misogynistic and paternalistic attitudes that guide them, the characters really make these books so readable. so i keep coming back for more regardless. and who knows, maybe this time things will end differently?

Oh Katie McGarry, you've done it again. The torturous thing about this item is that it was just a sample of what is to come. You've piqued my interest, as always! Can't wait to read the full version- our library has it on order, but I pre-ordered a copy for myself as well. Just couldn't resist. =)

This is the perfect amount of a teaser/sample to get readers interested in Katie McGarry's newest book Long Way Home. Readers get to know the connection between Chevy and Violet, and they get to understand the love Violet has for her brother and the need to protect him. There is tension and the story goes in a direction that I never expected. I can't wait to read the complete book.

Fantastic beginning!! Katie McGarry has a way of pulling me in and not letting go. I'm so glad that Violet and Chevy finally got their own HEA. Even so, the sampler stopped at a very crucial moment, the short few chapters were already intense and incredibly thrilling. I can only imagine how fantastic the rest of the book will be.
Violet already went through so much tragedy in such a short span. I loved how feisty and strong she was. And Chevy, he was so wonderfully protective of her and her brother. I fell for him. He is being pulled in two different directions. Which path to go. I can't wait to read the rest and I believe Long Way Home will be the best so far.
