I read this book wiht a big grin on my face - it's witty and smart and makes mincemeat of compulsion to understand everything we read or observe. It is a set of erudite exchanges by two widely read andintelligent minds - with philosophical bents. Sometimes I don't know what it all means (except that I think they are both in agreement with the introduction's point ... that perhaps the meaning feels right even if it's not in words explicitly) - not so much a disquisition on post truth but comment on what was going on al the time with Lacan -sometimes he was simply about shaking you up to see what fell out .. and then interpretation begins. Very smart (maybe i like Cassin better) but I was very taken with this and learned a lot without having to pour over it laboriously - we are advised there's no need to strain for meaning - it will come, it will come
