Navy SEAls, sexy spicy heat, suspense, drama, and a great read! Tawny Weber consistently writes fabulous stories with sexy heroes and heroines and delivers a plot that is always captivating and exciting.

When a Poseidon mission goes FUBAR and they lose a team member and can't recover the body. The team is suddenly under suspicion and to keep his team lead out of the investigation focus Captain Nick Savino sets him on a mission to help clear not only the team but himself.
As the team leader Diego is the one who had the most to lose, everything he had worked so hard for could be taken away. His assignment is to get information on the family of the deceased team member. It is proving difficult since the woman in question works from home and is extremely protective of her son.
His opportunity came in the form of her son, Nathan, with a broken bicycle chain he didn't want his Mom to know about. Diego was able to fix it and get some chatter about his Mom and the frequent deliveries she gets. Part of that scene is in the excerpt below and is one of my favorite scenes.
Harper has raised Nathan alone, his father wanted nothing to do with her pregnancy and had in fact ordered her to get an abortion. She took the money for it but took off and had her son, working hard to provide for him.
When Diego had moved in next door it hadn't raised any questions since the owner frequently rented it out to business people in need of a residence for a few months or weeks. On the other hand, it didn't take much for Harper to notice how attractive her new neighbor was or recognize her own libido awakening in his presence.
The last thing Diego expected was to fall for the woman he was investigating for clues. Clearing his name and his team's reputation was his first priority anything personal had to take second place.
Lots of frustration at dead ends and more questions without answers as these two fall hard for each other. Suspense, drama and plenty of sizzling scenes, combined with the love for a little boy who deserves only the best, make this a must read.

Call to Honor is the first book in Tawny Weber's SEAL Brotherhood series, and, as usual she doesn't disappoint. I give this novel 4.5 stars.
We first meet the hero, Diego Torres, a member of Team Poseidon, as his elite group of Navy SEALs is being honored yet again for another successful mission, and afterwards he and his teammates all go out drinking, which is where we meet most, if not all, of the SEALs who will be featured in this new series. I found this introduction to the team somewhat confusing, especially since in addition to their actual names, they also have call names. As they'e checking out the local females and teasing one another with their sexual conquests, Diego learns that his friend and fellow SEAL, Brandon Ramsey, has a gorgeous woman waiting for him back home, and has the cell phone photos to prove it, and he then learns that she's also the mother of Brandon's son, but admits that he left them because his first duty was to the SEALs.
We next meet the heroine, Harper Maclean, a successful interior designer, and her close friend, wealthy socialite, Andi, who has been a huge help and supporter of Harper's for the past three years. The two women are discussing Harper's lack of a sex life over breakfast. We learn that Harper grew up poor in a rough neighborhood, and, at the the age of 17, got knocked up, deserted by her boyfriend, Brandon Ramsey, after being told to get an abortion, had the baby, who is now 7 years old, and made a life for herself and her son. Before leaving her, Brandon warned Harper that if she ignored his demand to get an abortion, his wealthy family would take her child from her and raise him as their heir. The fact that Brandon has been no part of their lives has been a blessing to Harper, but the fear that he'll find out about them has guided many of her choices. As a single mom, her life revolves around her career and more importantly, her son, Nathan.
When an op to rescue a hostage goes bad, leaving one SEAL injured and another SEAL dead, Diego Torres is torn. The SEALs never leave one of their own behind, but since the building they infiltrated blew up, there's no way they can get back inside to try to pull whatever remained of Brandon Ramsey out. But Diego sensed something wrong about the way the mission went down, and he wasn't alone in that. It seems that Brandon is suspected of leaking top secret information to the enemy, and that puts Harper, his ex, under suspicion as well.
When the team returns to the U.S., Diego is tasked with gathering information from Harper, keeping her under surveillance and learning if there has been any contact between her and Brandon. Remember, Brandon told a lot of lies about their relationship to his teammates, and since they couldn't find and retrieve Brandon's body, and they suspect him of treason, they need to know if Harper has been and is complicit, and if Brandon is really still alive. So, Diego moves into the house next door, posing as Harper's new neighbor. After being informed of Brandon's death, Harper is finally free of the fear of losing her child to Brandon's parents, and when her son befriends the new neighbor, and Diego and Harper meet, the attraction is instantaneous and the heat between these two is off the charts.
As attracted as he is to Harper, Diego is torn--can you start a relationship with a woman based on a lie? When they eventually agree to a sex-only relationship, Diego can enjoy Harper, and fulfill his mission objectives while planting bugs all over her house, but just watching and waiting doesn't sit well with him. When Harper's son disappears from his summer camp, the action revs up and the team comes into play, but that also means that Harper must be told why Diego was there and that everything she knew about him was a lie.
These are strong, vividly written characters, given real depth and emotions you can understand. Can they overcome the circumstances that brought them together? Will Harper be cleared of suspicion? How will they find Nathan, and will he be safely returned to his mom? And what of Brandon? Be prepared, because this novel, which does have a somewhat abrupt HEA ending, also ends with a bit of a cliffhanger, which makes this reader anxious to read the next novel in this gripping and intense romantic suspense series.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel.

Call to Honor by Tawny Weber is the first book by the author that I have read and it certainly wont be the last!
"The Poseidon team are hard-bodied, fiercely competitive Navy SEALs. But when a sensitive mission goes disastrously wrong, three of the team's finest will have to trust their hearts and instincts to uncover the truth… "
The above lines of the blurb and the author's name that I had always heard in high praise are the reasons I stopped to check out the book because frankly I just didn't like the cover. After reading the book, it just seems lacking and fails in giving the right impression of the book. The story is so much more than the erotic depiction on the cover. It is emotional, suspenseful, has a swoon worthy romance and realistically portrays the relationship struggles of lovers, parents and friends through the characters in this book.
The title and blurb are well done and apart from the author's already established following, it is this combination that will attract new readers towards this book.
The story follows Navy SEAL, Diego Torres who is given the task of gathering information from single mom, Harper Mclean when a mission goes awry and her ex-husband is suspected of leaking secret information to the enemy. Harper has been running from her ex ever since she understood the lengths to which he would go to take away her son.
Now safe in the knowledge that her ex doesn't know her whereabouts, she is both intrigued and attracted towards the brooding and smoking hot new neighbour who seems to have easily connected with her son.
Tawny Weber's narration style is fluid, vivid and easily sucks the readers in the story. I sat at the edge of my seat throughout the book and could not put the book down until I had finished it. She gives us an engaging story with well played out twists and turns, a thrilling suspense with plenty of danger and a sense of urgency to solve the mystery and a romance that is intense, sexy and super hot!
The characters are people I connected to easily and felt I knew them. I loved Harper and Diego and am eager to read Andi's story.
The only problem I faced while reading the book was remembering the names of the members of The Poseidon Team which confused me initially but after a while I could connect a name with a character.
All in all, Call to Honor is intense, suspenseful romance that is a through and through entertainer that I enjoyed reading and recommend to all adult readers. 4 stars out of 5 to it from me and I look forward to reading more books from Tawny Weber in the future.
I received an ARC from the author, the publishers and the tour organizers via Netgalley and I am very thankful to them. The above is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.

I loved this one. I was drawn in from the first page. Tawny Weber does a great job of introducing her characters. You get to see who they are, their personalities, motivations, and more, quickly, but organically.
Diego is a great hero. He's all about honor. About doing the right thing. He struggles with the concept that one of the 'brothers' in his SEAL team is a traitor, he just can't believe any of them aren't as honorable as he is. He also isn't sure what to do about Harper and Nathan. Diego hates the idea of lying to Harper, of grilling her and her son for information, but he's a guy who gets the job done even if it's hard.
Harper is a strong, devoted heroine. She's pulled herself out of challenging circumstances and built a stable, happy life for her and her son. Nathan was an adorable kid. He lets us see the softer side of Diego, the warm, protective Harper but also their fiercer sides.
The story flows well, slowly unfolding the mystery of the traitor (even if it's not a big mystery), but still leaving me interested in how things will turn out.
By the end of Call to Honor Tawny Weber has shown me enough about Team Poseidon that I'm eager to see what's going to happen next. This may be my first Tawny Weber novel but it definitely won't be the last.

Another great SEAL book by Tawny Weber. She writes such great characters. You can feel the brotherhood of the SEALs. This one had passion, suspense, and heart that make up the great combination for this story. I was sucked in right from the beginning. Fate has a funny way of working, but Diego and Harper are in for a world of surprise. Too bad for Diego he hasn't been telling the truth of why he moved in next door. Diego knows that Harper is off limits, she is his assignment, but that doesn't stop the attraction for flaring between them. Diego has to firgure out what happened on a mission before it's too late and more lives are lost.

I can’t believe it took me this long to read my first ever Tawny Weber book, but I’m glad that my introduction to her writing is via Call to Honor, the first full-length novel in her new romantic suspense SEAL Brotherhood series published by Harlequin’s HQN Books. This was a great story about, obviously, the brotherhood that a group of SEALs share, each of them belonging to an elite group known as Poseidon. This edition includes a bonus story—the prequel novella, Night Maneuvers, but I’ll get more into that one after I’m done sharing my thoughts on Call to Honor.
For the past decade, Lieutenant Diego Torres has found purpose and brotherhood as a SEAL. Being part of Poseidon wasn’t a privilege bestowed on every SEAL, but Diego shared it with eleven others, each of them brothers bound together by trust and honor. It’s been twelve years since Diego entered boot camp, and he wouldn’t change a single thing about being a SEAL or serving his country and beside the men he considers family. When that trust and honor is threatened by a possible betrayal, Diego is tasked to get answers by getting close to a dead man’s ex and his son.
Harper Maclean’s pride and joy is her eight-year-old son, Nathan. She’s struggled to give him the best life possible and now, with a business of her own, she’s finally making inroads. Nathan’s father didn’t want to have anything to do with them from the moment Harper informed him of her pregnancy. When she’s informed of Brandon Ramsey’s death while serving as a SEAL, the only thing Harper feels is bewilderment that he was even aware of their son’s existence or their location. She hasn’t been with anyone since Brandon, but her new neighbor definitely tempts her.
There’s something about a well-written romantic suspense novel that makes me all giddy. Maybe it’s the anticipation and it appears that Tawny Weber knows how to keep her readers waiting and then richly rewarding them in return. I absolutely loved both main elements in this book. The romance between Diego and Harper was flirty and fun, belying just how dire the consequences would be should treason be proven and how badly hearts are going to end up broken once the truth about Diego comes out and whether Harper is actually involved or absolutely has no clue.
You know who the bad guys are soon enough, but not everything that needs to be resolved is resolved in this series starter, proving that the series arc does have to do with the selling of classified information to hostile groups. This is where the supporting cast of characters play their roles and they do it well. I was intrigued by Commander Nic Savino, leader of the Poseidon team, and Lieutenant Elijah Prescott and Chief Petty Officer Jared Lansky, both teammates of Diego’s, as well as Andrianna Stamos, Harper’s best friend, so I’m excited for more SEAL Brotherhood.
The scene-stealer in this first in a series had to be Nathan Maclean. He was precocious and adorable, and the boy’s curiosity and maturity were winsome. He was also the bridge of sorts that allowed Diego and Harper to connect. He saw and understood beyond what adults thought he was capable of, and because of that, he holds his own at a crucial point in the story, but he remains an innocent child who only wants his mother to find happiness and for him to have a hero to believe in and look up to. Call to Honor was a fantastic five-starred beginning to an already good series.
As I mentioned earlier, this book does include Night Maneuvers, which is the story of Poseidon team member Chief Petty Officer Aaron Ward and the U.S. Navy’s new civilian PR specialist, Bryanna Raddison. Aaron’s the poor sap who gets the short straw and has no choice but to be the Bryanna’s interviewee. The last thing he wants to do is to provide information to some clueless journalist, but Bryanna is anything but clueless. When one night together ends with accusations of ulterior motives, finding a middle ground may mean the difference between love and a PR war.
I liked Aaron and totally got why he—along with the rest of the Poseidon team—were apprehensive about being made available for interview. In the case of Bryanna, well, I didn’t quite like her all that much. I can’t pinpoint what it was exactly about her that didn’t call to me, but I honestly didn’t get Aaron’s attraction to her. Then there was the whole “love at first sight” thing she was such a believer of, and I just couldn’t fathom how they connected and then felt what they had after one hookup was forever. Maybe I was just in a cynical mood. Night Maneuvers gets three stars. ♥

Excellent read! I really enjoyed this book, it's well-written, action packed and highly entertaining. The characters were well-developed with a suspenseful story-line. Can't wait to read more in this series.

Diego Torres is a member of SEAL Team 7, and also part of the elite spec ops group called Poseidon. They all went through training together and are the best of the best. They are the only family he has now, and "No Man Left Behind" is part of his mind set. After a treacherous mission that lost a member of the team, another seriously burned, they are devastated. Especially when there is no body to return. Suddenly they are being investigated by the CIA and NI for treason. Information was sold to the enemy from the location of their last mission, and every team member is a suspect.
Harper Maclean is a single mom and successful interior designer. Her son Nathan is the light in her life. At seventeen she was left pregnant and alone, and has fought for everything she has since then. The father has not had contact since she told him she was pregnant, which is fine with her. Suddenly she gets the information he has been killed on a mission. Harper feels nothing but relief. Not too long after receiving the information she is contacted by someone on his team with his belongings, and wanting to meet Nathan. No way!
The only connection the team can come up with to the supposed traitor is the woman who had his child. All their investigations into her life show nothing suspicious, but Diego moves into a rental next door to Harper to get up close and personal. His cover is that he is a security specialist. He makes friends with Nathan, hoping to get closer to Harper. Soon, he likes them too much, and the attraction has become mutual. The lies he is keeping would surely mean the end of them, but he's on a mission, and personal feelings must be left aside. Until the danger comes to close.
Suspenseful, sexy and SEALS........that alone makes a good story! Harper is a strong protective Mom that can handle anything, except threats to her child. Diego can't fight away the strong feelings he feels for them both. He's in his own battle to protect them, and still do his duty. Very exciting read.

4.5 Stars!
The story has laughs, steam, betrayal, secrets, and heartbreak. The Poseidon team is searching for the truth.
This is Harper and Diego‘s story. After a mission gone wrong Diego is put in charge of watching Harper a single mother but also a person of interest. But what happens when he learns of the full extent of his teammates relationship with Harper? But The pull between these two is strong and they ca only resist for so long. But is Harper hiding more secrets that could harm his or his teammates? Or is she an innocence in this battle of good and evil. Can the men of this SEAL team come together and figure out the truth or will Harper be taken down even if she knows nothing?
I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

What’s it About? Call to Honor is the first book in a new series by Tawny Weber and it centers around the Poseidon Team, a group of highly trained SEALs, the fallout of a mission gone wrong, a dead team member whose body is missing, and a traitor among them. Lieutenant Diego Torres wants answers and single mom Harper MacLean has them. Harper on the other hand just wants to start a new life and raise her son. She doesn’t like all the questions Diego keeps asking her about her past and her son’s father but his persistence and her attraction to him end up putting them all in danger.
Describe the hero in five words: Honorable. Persistent. Intelligent. Loyal. Charming.
Did you like him? Yes.
Why? I really liked Diego. His childhood was less than ideal and I loved that he recognized his team mates as the family he needed and wanted. Weber didn’t just write a romance between Diego and Harper, she took the time to show just how close knit Diego and his team were and how the possibility of betrayal affected them. I was just as interested in Diego’s relationship with his teammates as I was in his romance with Harper. Both relationships revealed more of who Diego was than anything else. I liked his dedication to his team and later his dedication to Harper and her son. He was a solid, strong character and his dilemma of getting involved with Harper romantically while he was essentially spying on her made things a lot more interesting than if he hadn’t cared about using her.
Describe the heroine in five words: Kind. Funny. Smart. Loving. Strong.
Did you like her? Yes.
Why? Harper was no pushover and I loved that about her. Her independent streak and kind heart made her the perfect balance for Diego’s personality. Harper was so genuine but at the same time she didn’t trust easily. I felt that it took the whole book to really find out just who Harper was aside from a mother and I didn’t mind. She was delightful and when it came to sex, she was a mixture of confident vixen and vulnerable woman. She managed to infuse her own brand of humor into almost situation and that humor made her even more likable. I felt like she was someone I’d be happy to hang out with every once in awhile.
How convincing were the main characters as a couple? Physical chemistry is super important to me in a romance and Diego and Harper definitely had that sexy spark between them. They didn’t disappoint in the heat department and I expected that the emotional relationship would suffer for it. But it didn’t. Harper brought softness and light to Diego’s very serious life and I loved how their connection went from the physical to emotional. I loved them together.
Is there a “Scooby Gang” worth mentioning? As I said before, Diego’s relationship with his fellow SEALs was important to Call to Honor and I loved getting to know them a little better. They were an important part of getting to know Diego just like Harper’s son Nathan was an important part of getting to know Harper. All of them were likable and yes, I was surprised because I normally do not like kids in romances but Nathan was different.
How “Lost” did you get in the story? Call to Honor hits the ground running and takes the reader on a fast paced, intriguing romance with two entertaining and likable characters.
Diego and Harper’s story serves as an introduction to a new group of characters but I never felt like the romance suffered for the sake of introducing everything. It didn’t take me long to get lost in the story or to finish it.
Click It or Skip It? Click it. Especially if you love honorable Navy SEALs, plucky interior designers, and fast paced romance.

Call to Honor went in a direction I didn't expect, but OMG did I enjoy every minute of it!
Diego and Harper are absolutely fantastic together, and when you throw in Harper's seven-year-old son Nathan? Pure magic. Seriously. I loved these three with an intensity that shouldn't be possible in a 300+ page book, but there you have it. They have to show up in later series books, because I am not at all ready to say goodbye to them!
There's a secondary thing going on between Harper's BFF Andi and Diego's teammate Jared here that has to get its own book (sadly, it's not book two, Call to Engage ; I'm holding out hope for #3 in the series) and the entire situation that Diego's team was trying to resolve in this book isn't finalized either--as if I needed more reasons to be first in line for the rest of the books in this series. Can't wait!
Rating: 4 stars / A-
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book via Netgalley.
A mission goes wrong for the Poseidon SEAL team and one of their own is lost. The team then come under investigation for treason. Diego is sent to watch and learn about Harper, ex-girlfriend to the missing man. To see if she holds the secrets of the missing man and the treason charge. Harper has but ONE secret: that of her son, Nathan. And when he goes missing from camp, the full force of the team that is Poseidon land in Harper's house.
You know how I hate not being able to word what I want to say? This book, right here. All I'm left with is nice. And NICE really isn't the right word but for the life of me, I can't find that bloody word!!
It's well written, from both Diego and Harper's point of view. Nathan also gets a little bit of a voice, and I loved that. Brave little man, that Nathan. It's sexy in places and it's deadly in others.
While Diego, Harper and Nathan get their happy ever after, the treason story line and that of the missing man is left unfinished. It lays the way for another team member's story, but that doesn't come next. Kinda knocked me for a loop, that one!
I loved how Diego discovered things as suspicious, and on the surface, they really could have been, but they were written away in a highly believable way. Someone trying to keep a secret takes things a little too far! I loved Andi, Harper's best friend, and the part she plays keeping Harper grounded.
Will I read future books in this series?? I hope to get the chance. I like the way Weber spins her tales, how she intertwines everyone and everything.
I wrote 4 stars at the top of the page (why yes, I do actually write them on paper before typing them up!) and I am gonna stick to it. Had I been able to find the right bloody word, another word other than NICE, I might have upgraded it but since I can't find the word....
4 solid stars
**same worded review will appear on: Goodreads, Booklikes, Mills and Boon UK, Netgalley, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com, and Barnes and Noble**

Call to Honor is a solid read, detailing the story of Harper, Nathan, and Diego. Harper and Nathan are mother and son, Diego is the Navy SEAL/Poseidon trying to clear his team's (and his own) name. Sent to watch a team member's ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, Diego gets more than he bargained for with Harper and Nathan. Harper has pulled herself up by her bootstraps, and made a good life for herself and her son. Nathan is a total dude, brave, fearless, and opinionated about heroes, which I quite agree with.
Call to Honor is a long story which delves into treason, betrayal, Cayman Island bank accounts, plus much more. Both funny and hot, it also has plenty of action. The main characters' story is mostly told, with a HFN ending. There are plenty of others to choose from for the rest of the series, although it is Prescott's turn next.
Well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, this was an enjoyable story. It just seemed so long, and I don't know why. I can't think of any gaps where nothing happened, but it just seemed to last for a long time. So, for that reason, definitely recommended if you want a Summer beach read to last a fortnight!

Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

I have had Ms. Weber 's books on my TBR for far too long and I do love me some Navy SEALs so after reading the blurb for Call to Honor I had to read it.
Diego Torres has risen above a difficult childhood, life on the streets, and near death as a gang prospect. He chose a future in the Navy and has risen through the ranks of the SEALs to be a part of the even more elite Poseidon team embedded within SEAL Team 7. He has found his family in the brotherhood, and with the lead role on a big mission coming up, his future is looking up. When that mission goes FUBAR and he is forced to leave a man behind against every instinct he has, Diego suddenly finds himself in a nightmare scenario where he and his team are suspected of treason and they have to go off the grid to clear their names. He is assigned to conduct surveillance on the beautiful ex-girlfriend of their prime suspect, but doing nothing for a man of action like Diego is his own form of torture.
Harper had a very similar childhood to Diego's in some ways, and she fell prey to the knight in shining armor routine of Brandon Ramsey when she was still in high school. Unfortunately that armor tarnished pretty quickly when she found herself pregnant at 17 and he immediately bailed after instructing her to end the pregnancy if she knew what was good for her. Instead she disappeared and has spent the last 8 years trying to build a life for herself and her 7 year old son Nathan on her own.
When keeping his distance as ordered is getting him nowhere, Nathan gives Diego the perfect opportunity to engage with Harper. Diego doesn't count on the young whirlwind working his way under his skin though, and he sees a lot of his younger self in the little boy who doesn't seem to have a father figure in his life. Add in that Harper is gorgeous and that Diego is just a guy after all, and he can't hold out against her forever. He believes she is innocent but needs proof and if getting closer to her helps him cross the finish line, then who is he to argue? His order were to use whatever means necessary, but at his core Diego is a good man with strong ethics and convictions so his conscience wars with his need to always complete the mission.
Things heat up all around when Nathan goes away to summer camp for two weeks. Diego and Harper give into the pull of attraction between them, Diego intensifies his search for answers, and their best friends start sticking their noses where they are not wanted. Jared, Diego's teammate who is also out in the cold, grows increasingly frustrated with his friend's perceived lack of commitment to clearing their name in favor of having too much fun with their target. Andi, Harper's best friend, is very protective of Harper and is more than a little bitter and jaded as she goes through a painful divorce so she is ready to start tearing apart Diego's backstory.
When an unexpected move by the adversary threatens to shatter Harper's world, Diego's lies and betrayal are the last straw for her. He can't get through to her until the situation is resolved, so he does what he does best: takes charge and leads the mission to set things right. Even Andi can't help but turn to Team Diego when he is in action, especially when he and his friends go even further outside their orders for her.
Call to Honor was an excellent read and a great start to this series, and I can't wait for more! Nathan was absolutely adorable and a little scene stealer on a few occasions, especially as he connected with Diego. Harper and Diego were both fun and hot, the suspense element was just right, and I am curious to see if the sparks that flew between Jared and Andi go anywhere.

4.5 Stars
Tawny Weber never fails to deliver! CALL TO HONOR is an engaging page-turner filled with sizzling chemistry, emotion, humor and suspense that will leave a reader wanting more. I know that because all I wanted wanted when I finished reading this book was to get my hands on the next one but since that's not possible,I settled for re-reading her back-list to tide me over until then.
Lieutenant Diego Torres lives and breathes the SEAL code of honor and brotherhood and when a mission he leads goes south and the future of the entire team is on the line, Diego is determined to get to the truth about what happened on the mission. All roads lead to Harper Maclean and while Diego is more comfortable on the streets, he'll brave suburbia for his men.
Harper Maclean has spent the last eight years building a solid life for herself and her son after being abandoned by his father as a pregnant teen. She definitely has no time for a man or relationships except professional ones, but her hot new neighbor is irresistible temptation and Harper may just indulge herself this one time since he will be gone soon.
I feel like gushing about this book because I loved it so much. Ms. Weber knows how to capture a reader's attention and keep it. There is no part of this story that was lacking or overdone in any way. The chemistry between Diego and Harper was scorching hot, steaming up the pages of the book and it was so cute watching them tumble head over heels for each other while trying to convince themselves it was just sex. The relationship between Harper and her son was so adorable and the way he latched on to Diego was so endearing. Beyond that, I loved Diego's dedication to his SEAL brothers and his love for his job. There is nothing like a capable, take charge man to get a woman revved up both in the bedroom and outside it.
Harper was a really good mom and her love for her son was undeniable. She was tough, talented and hardworking, had overcome many obstacles to get to where she was and she was willing to do her best for her child.
It's quite creepy to find out the obsession that Harper was unaware of and I'm not going to lie, I give a minute to wondering if I shouldn't beef up my own personal security:) Diego's investigation turns up a betrayal of the brotherhood and country and there are more questions than answers at this moment, but I can't wait for the next book in the series to find out more. There is a long list of SEALs that I hope get a happy ending and I'm looking forward to their stories.

Call to Honor is the explosive beginning to Tawny Weber's new series, SEAL Brotherhood, which follows the elite Poseidon team.
Diego Torres couldn't imagine being anything other than a SEAL. When he made the decision to rise above a life of gangs and violence, he made a commitment. It's unthinkable that a fellow SEAL would betray his own, but when Brandon Ramsey is killed in action, and his body isn't found, Poseidon is put under investigation. Diego and Jared Lansky are ordered by their team leader to quietly investigate the matter of Brandon's death. Could he really have betrayed the team to sell classified information? Was he working alone? Diego is positioned next door to Brandon's former girlfriend and mother of his child. If he's still alive he might run to her for safety. Harper Maclean puts all her energy into taking care of her son, Nathan, and distancing herself from Brandon's abandonment. When Harper and Diego meet sparks fly and romance takes over the plot.
I really loved reading Call to Honor. Tawny Weber is a talented author who knows how to engage her readers and keep them hooked throughout the novel. It was a little hard reading at the beginning, however, because she introduces quite a few characters from the SEAL teams. It took me a few passes over certain scenes to understand who was talking or where someone was directing their glare. Despite the confusing opening scenes, though, I wanted to race through the story to the end. Diego and Harper were so good together. You can't read their story and miss the connection. I have no doubt the rest of the SEAL Brotherhood series will be just as fascinating as Call to Honor!
*eARC provided in exchange for an honest review*

Call to Honor is a romantic suspense revolving around Navy SEALs and treason. The premise is well executed and unique. I read a LOT of military romance, so for me to feel its unique is saying something!
Diego is a SEAL and on a recent mission, things went bad and a fellow SEAL on his team is killed. The government is putting them blame on the team and Diego is determined to clear his name. There is a possibility that the soldier who died, didn't die at all, and he is engaging in treason. To clear his name, Diego starts staking out the dead soldier's ex, Harper.
Harper hasn't had contact with her ex since she told him she was pregnant at 18, and he took off. She has lived in total fear that his powerful family will come with their lawyers and take away her son, who is now 7. She hasn't been with a man since she conceived her son, but when a new neighbor moves in next door, she is suddenly feeling interested again!
Call to Honor is a fasted paced story that will keep you guessing! Is Harper's ex alive? Is he a traitor? Will Diego be able to figure it out? Can he and Harper make a relationship work? The story is so multi-layered you will have a difficult time finding a stopping point! I loved Nathan. He was precocious and smart; he provided a depth to Harper as a character as well. He also provided some levity at times (seriously-how many different ways can that kid ask for a kitten!?). The plot is certainly deep and winding and I am looking forward to the next book in the series to continue the overarching plot line! (link live on 2/2/17)

Let's just get one thing straight. I LOVE me some Military reads and this one doesn't disappoint. Although this took a little bit for me to get in to, once I did, it flowed so easily that it was hard to put down.
Diego is a badass. No, really. He's come from the streets, turning his life around to become a better person. If not for the SEALs, he most likely would have ended up like his pops. In fact, he's so amazing that he's rising to the top of the rankings pretty fast. But when a mission goes very wrong, he's after some answers. And he's willing do whatever it takes to get them.
Harper is stunningly beautiful. But she's got a lot on her plate to deal with. She's raising a son on her own and trying to bounce back from a relationship not worthy of mentioning. So when a handsome man moves in next door, having the feelings she's having shouldn't even be an option, right? But he's so hard to ignore.
Remember in the beginning of this review I mentioned that it took a little bit for me to get in to? I wasn't really sure where this was going to go and had already convinced myself it was heading in a certain direction. But then BAM! Nope, totally took a twist and turn and left me with my mouth open and turning the pages to figure out wth was going to happen next. Don't do what I did. Just enjoy the beginning for what it is, character building. The plot was so cleverly put together with multiple characters involved that I'm really intrigued to see where the rest of this series goes. Totally fell in love with Diego's buddies.
Side note - I have to admit that I wasn't a huge fan of these two as a couple. I felt like they didn't really have much in common except for the amazing chemistry, and we're treated to some really nice scenes if you know what I mean. But I will say this. The relationship that Diego has with the boy is precious. Love that boy.

4.25 stars--CALL TO HONOR is the first installment in Tawny Weber’s contemporary, adult SEAL BROTHERHOOD military, romantic suspense series focusing on a Special Ops SEAL Team known as Poseidon. This is Lieutenant Diego Torres (aka El Gato), and interior designer/ single mother Harper Maclean’s story line.
Told from several third person perspectives including Diego and Harper CALL TO HONOR focuses on the Poseidon Team member’s search for the truth. When their latest mission in Afghanistan goes horribly wrong, leaving one member injured and one man missing and presumed dead, the Team comes under suspicion when military secrets are discovered in the hands of the enemy. Enter Diego Torres, the man who has been assigned to ‘watch’ over one of his team member’s ex-lovers-a woman they suspect may be harboring a fugitive or government secrets. What ensues is the building relationship between Diego and Harper; the heartbreak of betrayal; and the Poseidon Team’s determination to prove their innocence when one of their own is the target of the investigation.
Harper Maclean is a single mother, an interior designer and a woman who hasn’t seen her son’s father since the day she announced she was pregnant. Brandon Ramsey walked out of her life, entered the military, and refused to accept any responsibility for Harper’s pregnancy. Fast forward to present day and Harper will learn that her son’s father is missing and presumed killed in an explosion in Afghanistan. Diego Torres has been ordered to go undercover to ferret out information about Harper Maclean but Diego never intended to fall in love with the woman and her son. Diego’s life in the military is not conducive to love or a relationship but that doesn’t stop our hero from seducing the woman that calls to his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to several members of SEAL Team 7 and the Special Ops unit known as Poseidon: Commander Nic Savino, Chief Petty Officer Jared (MacGyver)Lansky, Lieutenant Elijah Prescott, Petty Officer Aaron Ward, and Petty Officer Dane Adams-Brandon Ramsey’s wing man and best friend. Harper’s best friend Andi Stamos is a rich socialite who may or may not have a relationship with Jared Lansky, and Nathan Maclean-Harper’s seven year old son who is wise beyond his years.
The world building looks at the fall out of secrets, lies, betrayal and war; the tight-knit brotherhood of Navy SEAL Team Poseidon, and the search for the truth. CALL TO HONOR does not end on a cliff hanger but the investigation is ongoing as more evidence mounts against a man Team Poseidon once called a brother and a friend.
CALL TO HONOR is a detailed and complex story of romance and suspense. The premise is intelligent, entertaining and creative; the characters are passionate, spirited and intense; the romance is captivating and sensual. Tawny Weber’s CALL TO HONOR is an exciting and tangible start to her SEAL BROTHERHOOD military, romantic suspense series.
