Sweet Jesus. I have to admit that I haven’t read Ms. Weber in a while. Somehow she got out my rotation when it comes to Harlequin books. And yes, I forgot how delicious her heroes are and that no one write SEALs better than her. Yes, I put her SEALs up against anyone else. She’s that good. So on to the review.

I will admit that I was prepared for a more Blaze type book but what I got was so much more. This book sets up a plot arc that I’m sure will take more than just one or two books to complete. *rubs hands together* Oh my…it is a plot device that we have seen once or twice but the set up in this book is perfect and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. The team is perfect together. Torres, MacGuyver, Prescott, Savino, Ward and the rest of them. This is a team that I can’t wait to read more of and the women that take them down. Plus, the villain in the book is well definied and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. 🙂

Torres and Harper are match made in heaven. On paper, they don’t seem to fit but once you get through their layers, they are closer to a couple that is destined to be together. Similar backgrounds and the bravery, fortitude, dedication, and love that they have for their friends. Plus, there is nothing better than watching a big, bad SEAL brought to his knees by the thought being able to settle down with a woman, her son that the adores and the feelings that come with it. Torres, just didn’t know what hit him.

Harper is the type of heroine that doesn’t whine, pout but is loyal, funny and fiercely protective of Nathan, her son. Not to mention that her friend Andi, is a hoot. Plus, I loved that Harper, after a huge dryspell, was the one that put the moves on Torres. Oh yes, sex kitten is what she turned out to be. He He! I also like Ms. Weber didn’t drag out the black moment between them either. They had a common goal that they working towards but in no way to she gloss over it. I loved how it ended but now, I need Prescott’s book. Plus, I didn’t mention that Andi and MacGuyer…well, I’m sure their book will come later. 🙂

Overall, I missed Ms. Weber and her SEALs. I will be reading the rest of this series. Trust me, I will NOT make this mistake again. She made my heart happy and reading this book for me was like welcoming a long lost friend back into the fold.

Call to Honor is a seductive tale of secrets, suspicion, and yearning passion turning into a tender adoration.
I liked how the team Poseidon was introduced, their tight brotherhood is admirable, their skills and proficiency making them the best of the best. They are willing and able to step in as needed and to sacrifice their lives if meant to be. Yet a betrayal by a team member was not something they were prepared for.
Lieutenant Diego Torres has come over the odds that were against him from the start of his life and bettered himself for a brighter future. His dignity, honesty, and love for rules, regulations, and routines make him an ideal soldier, his honed ability to control his temper a better man than most. He loves action, he loves to work out, but waiting and being still, opening up to new people, and dating aren't part of his better skills.
Harper Maclean is tough, smart, and sweet single mom, whom also has come over the odds and made a good, safe life for his son. She has spunk and courage, she is passionate about life, and there is nothing she wouldn't do for her son. Nathan is absolutely adorable, smart as a whip, caring, sweet boy who looks after his mom. I loved Harper and Nathan, the mother/son connection was truly strong and loving, making me smile constantly.
Diego and Harper were hot together, the passion between them is scorching, the developing deeper feelings are obvious, no matter how much and how often they try to convince themselves that it is only about the sex.
The main focus in the story was the failed mission, the assumedly dead SEAL member, his betrayal of the team and the country, and the necessity to find out what happened, and who is behind it, and who was helping him. I liked the intensity the suspense and the investigation gave to the story, the action towards the end picked up the heart rate. At the beginning, the plot moves on rather slowly, Diego and Harper don't even meet until about 20% into the tale. But when the story picks up, it comes addictive and engaging, the luscious craving Harper and Diego have for each other steaming up the pages, and the hunt for the treasonist members of the team heightening the tension. Not all the questions regarding the investigation were completely answered, raising up the curiosity towards the continues of the series even more, if the attractive Poseidon team hadn't already done that.
Sizzling hot romance in a middle of a vigorous investigation introduces the gorgeous, intriguing members of the Poseidon team and opens up the doors to a new, promising series that I will keep my eye on!

Call to Honor is the first in a new series by Tawny Weber featuring the Poseidon Team...an elite division of navy SEALs. In Call to Honor Harper is a single mother with a hurtful history with an ex who has never been involved with their son. Threats he made have made her fearful, and she trusts few people. When her ex is missing and presumed KIA, some parts of the navy have questions, others place blame. Diego is part of Poseidon and due to these events and suspicion of his team, he is sent to investigate and survey Harper...just in case the ex shows up. Because no one on either side knows the full story.

Diego lives for his work and his team, and the attraction he feels for Harper is unexpected and strong. As they become closer, the sparks are flying. But secrets can't stay hidden, and as the plot thickens sooner or later they come out. Call to Honor has an intriguing plot filled with possibilities and strong characters. I don't know if it was always realistic, but it felt real as I read it. Harper is strong and very protective of her son. She doesn't talk about a lot of her past, and Diego wonders what she could be hiding. Harper has no idea what Diego is hiding, or that he is even hiding anything. Diego is all alpha with so many good qualities under his tough exterior, and I liked how he was with Harper and her son, even if I didn't like what he was hiding. I was very interested in how this relationship would play out, and I liked how Tawny Weber wrote it. Diego and Harper are different in many ways, but they really connected under that cloak of secrecy...could it last when the truth came out?

I liked the mystery and suspense of this plot as much as the romance, they really flowed and fit well together. Tawny Weber left enough threads dangling for the next story in this series, but not too many so I felt satisfied with the conclusion.

I will read the next book in this series and would recommend Call to Honor to any romantic suspense reader.

Never slow down. That mantra is the perfect tagline for both author and characters. Ms. Weber holds nothing back with her alpha heroes and the danger in the plot, she adds more fuel to the fire with her equally strong willed heroines. With Call to Honor, she threw me at first. For a man like Diego who struggles with powerful emotions and dangerous enemies, Harper did seem like she fit him. However, as the blinders come off and the secrets start to explode we see a fierce attraction blossom and Tawny Weber at her best. Suspense is the name of the game with this mysterious couple.

I'm a long time fan of Tawny Weber, but this book? It was AWESOME! In her typical fashion, she puts together a SEAL story with a sexy military guy and an independent, smart woman, but this time deepens the story to include secondary characters and serious suspense. I'm so looking forward to the continuation of this series!

With a story filled with intrigue and passion, Tawny Weber brings us the start of a new SEAL series! Team Poseidon is the best of the best and make for an interesting bunch of guys. First off we are getting Diego's story ... looking forward to more!

Diego Torres has given his life to his Navy SEAL career. He lives for his job and his teammates, so when a mission goes awry and someone is left behind, that doesn't sit well with him! He's settling into a boatload of guilt when intel comes in that leads them to think there is some shady business going down. He's sent in to try to get some information from the only source they have.

Harper Maclean has worked hard to overcome her past and give her son a great life. She has done it all on her own, since his so called father walked out before he was born. When a new sexy man shows up as their new neighbor, she can't help but be intrigued. Can she really throw caution to the wind and actually live for herself for once?

Will Diego blow his cover when he gets too close to Harper and her son? And when information starts to surface, will he be able to keep them safe?

This is the first in a new series and I really enjoyed this highly entertaining mix of a SEAL investigation into a mission that went wrong and the ensuing romance - in fact, potential romances! The mission had been led by Lieutenant Diego Torres and he's determined to discover what happened, why and to clear the Poseidon team's name. If that involves him being undercover in a smart neighbourhood to keep an eye on his neighbour, he'll do it for the team. When that neighbour turns out to be interior designer, Harper Maclean, and he discovers she is a very attractive single mom who prefers not to discuss her past or the father of her child, things are definitely going to get interesting! Harper's son, Nathan, proves to be the catalyst in many encounters and events but I'm going to stop there as I don't want to give away any spoilers!

This is a real page turner. It has great characters together with an intriguing plot which involves hot SEALs, a feisty Mum, traitors to be discovered, a kidnapping, friends and team mates to rely on and a delightful young man, too! I will certainly be looking out for the next book in this series and other books by this author in future. The ARC I was gifted had a bonus novella included which focusses on another member of Poseidon, SEALs don't like publicity but the Poseidon team have been ordered to have a representative talk to a journalist. Aaron, aka Bulldog, who literally draws the short straw and ends up meeting with journalist Bryanna Radisson. He will follow orders and meet her but he's determined to be reticent about what he shares . . . Will that all change when they meet? You'll have to read it yourself to find out.

Call to Honor is a contemporary romance novel with a Navy Seal hero. The hero, Diego Torres, is hot, hot, hot. I wouldn’t kick him out of my bed, but I may find it difficult to spend any time outside of the bedroom with him. If he’s not working out, he’s whining. Can he tell us he’s bored more often? Being in the military is whole lot of hurry up and wait. There is a ton of boredom, but Diego acted like he couldn’t handle a bit of waiting around. That he didn’t know how to date and therefore was unsure how to ask Harper questions I could see. But does he not know how to make new friends? Harper was perfect: beautiful but didn’t realize it, smart, and a great mom. She also had a great business. She was a little bit too perfect.

The story itself was a bit slow for me. There was entirely too much introspection. How many times do we need to hear Diego question his ability to be a spy or Harper obsess about pretty much everything? With the hero being a Navy Seal and the father of Harper’s child being a missing Navy Seal, I expected a ton of action. Although there is a bit of suspense at the end, the majority of the book was a slow ride. Unfortunately, not all our questions regarding the mission gone wrong are answered before the book ends.

Who doesn't love a good SEAL? This one is no different. A fun, sexy read.

Harper has had a lot on her plate. She was left pregnant and alone by her rich boy boyfriend, but not before he promised to take their son from her if his parents found out about him. Fast forward a few years and she is making a name for herself as an interior designer. But when she receives a parcel from the Navy, her well put together life begins to unravel.

Diego Torres barely made it out alive from his last mission. But when suspicion lands on his team that secrets have been leaked, they know who is the likely suspect...just a pity he is supposedly dead! When they learn he had a child, Diego is set to recon the ex and his son in case he reaches out to them. He never expected to find a cute as a button Nathan and his sexy mother, Harper! It's clear Ramsey lied about his past with Harper but can he enlist her help in bringing Ramsey to justice?

Diego and Harper will steam up your ereader! They are hot enough to melt metal! Diego is just the right balance of alpha male, possessive without being a total a$$! Harper is vulnerable and strong at the same time and little Nathan will make you smile. Totally worth a few hours time to spend in the SEAL world!
