I really enjoyed the author's writing style and the witty, funny dialogue. I also liked the age gap between the two leads. That subject matter has been done to death but the leads had great chemistry and the humour took the story to another level. I will keep an eye out for this author.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I see the appeal of the book to some individuals. I picked the book because it was listed as a rom-com and I am the sort of person that can reread rom-com books over and over. I will laugh the second time, but for this book I didn't laugh once. The book did get a small chuckle out of me once. I think the right person, with the right humor would really enjoy this one. Unfortunately, I am just not that person.
The things I disliked are all taste specific: Janet, was too vain one moment too self-conscious the next. The boss power trip didn't do it for me. The story didn't feel very romantic to me, and nothing made me smile and think that this love was perfect. I never actually once thought that Wendy and Janet made a perfect couple. Sex scenes were hot, but that couldn't overcome the entire story. Again, I am sure some really enjoyed and will enjoy this book.

This is a fun read which had be laughing throughout the book. It is a simple storyline which is more about the characters than anything. Wendy was funny and easy to fall in love with. I could definitely see the appeal of Janet's power and authority even though she was more prickles than anything. I really liked them as a couple.

The main issue with this book is the storyline is weak. It has so much potential but I don't think that is what the author was going for. For example I really wanted to know what actually happened at the end in their work situation as that wasn't really resolved. It always annoys me when you have an epilogue and you use it for sex than to properly close the story out.

All in all a fun read!

I'm so disappointed. Reading the summary of this book I was so excited to get tucked into it.I ended up skimming the last couple of chapters because I wanted to "finish" the book. The book started off great and had some great moments like the first time Wendy sees Janet and the very funny dialogue between Wendy and her sister Regan. My experience of the book was one of inconsistency and confused expectations. If it was going to be a serious exploration of the death of the Janet character's lengthy marriage, and her feelings about the subsequent rebound relationship with a provocative young employee, then a lot of the campy quirk was misplaced.I wish I could say at least the end is satisfying and maybe it is for other readers but I even skimmed through the epilogue.

Wendy Cedar is an intern for an aerospace engineering company with diverse interests, think Lockheed Martin. Wendy is totally unsatisfied with her career up to this point. Her boss is a mega-jerk who treats her like a high school student rather than the masters in engineering grad that she is. What makes matters even worse her love life is even more dismal. Everything changes when Janet Lace enters the picture and not only steals her heart but gives her a chance to advance her career.

Janet is a recent divorcee. Her wife of forever is having a mid-life crisis and therefore leaves Janet for a new woman and a new career. Janet is used to her life being more routine, so when her wife leaves her for another woman and a new career, Janet isn't all that sad, she's more lost than anything. To make matters worse she has begun having a crush on the much younger, Wendy, who she just acquired on her team.

This book is an interesting combination. One part romantic comedy, one part edgy and then mix in a bit of BDSM thrown in just to keep you on your toes. This interesting combination works because of the fun and quirky banter between the two mains. Kaplan is extremely skilled in creating dramatic and interesting dialogue between her characters. Where I would say the book is a bit weak is that while you like Wendy and Janet, you don't completely buy into their relationship. I never felt like oh yes they will make it, this is true love. I think the book needed to spend more time with the characters together. Wendy and Janet's relationship is in the building stage and then all the sudden goes at breakneck speed till the end. I wanted more togetherness. Overall this book is fun, and well written the romance left me a tad flat. Still a huge fan of Georgette Kaplan's work thus far though!
