A quick ease read with an adorable pup who’ll capture your heart. The story is disjointed at times, the characters not syncing up with the type of chemistry that gives me reason to cheer for their HEA. An ok start to a new series.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Dogs! The dog honestly was my only favorite thing. The romance was surface value, would’ve done well with deeper characters, but they seemed just a touch basic in the fact you never felt truly connected to them.

2.5 stars.

This was cute and fast and had a cute dog.

If that is all you are looking for in a romance, this book is perfect for you.

I enjoy actual developed characters -and while there as a little bit of that here it was not enough for me personally.
I also enjoy a bit more actual plot, once again there was little of that here but not enough for me personally.

It was actually a bit of the theme in this book for me, there as a little but not enough, it started to go in the right way so that i would love it, but stopped short of actually going there.

I do think that its a cute book, and i see the potential but it wasn't enough for me to make it a great read.

Oh what a sweet read!! Any book that features a pup gets my interest & one about rescue is a sure fire read. I loved all the details the author included about how rescue works- I hope it brings more people to fostering & volunteering.

Casey & Charlie are so cute together. And of course Baloo stole the show.

Can't wait to read the next book in the series

This was a nice quick read.

I've enjoyed the plot and how all the characters' lives are tangled by a cute and hyperactive dog.
I would have liked to know the characters more deeply and maybe to read more romantic scenes but I count on an improvement for the author next story.

finding happiness together.

This is book #1 in the Happawly Ever After Romance series.  Casey found a cute dog in the park.  She worked really hard to find out where he came from.  Casey met Charlie while looking for the dog's family in the park.  Charlie asks Casey out.  Casey worked with a rescue and fostered the dog.

I love that Casey was learning to live her life through this lost dog.  Both Casey and Baloo (dog's name) lost their way and it took a long walk home to find themselves.

This is my first book from this author.  I can not wait to read more from Piper Landen.

I did not finish this book as I did not engage with this story at all.

I absolutely loved this book. I could totally relate to Casey and what she went through during her experience with Baloo. I think anyone who loves dogs will appreciate the care and concern that Casey feels.
This book immediately draws you into the story, you feel concern for the characters who all are well developed and easily believable.
I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.

This was a was easy and quick read for me. Casey life is pretty much a routine that doesn't get broken, suddenly she finds a dog running loose. Being the good person Casey is she takes the dog home and contacts the shelter. She then decides to foster Baloo (he was named by the shelter). She also meets Charlie while he was jogging and this also changes her routine as well.

Casey has so much anxiety about everything that I almost felt like I was getting anxiety reading about it, while I knew what Casey was going through and I'm glad they addressed it towards the end of the book. Mental health is important and this is what made me bring the book up to 3 stars. Besides that this is a pretty predictable story, and Casey constantly second guessing herself and self-sabotaging her relationship with Charlie stopped me from truly enjoying the book. I wanted to scream at her to just take a breath. I am really glad everything worked out in the end and the depiction of how rescues work was well done.

My e-book was an Advanced Reader Copy (text not final).

Despite the grammatical errors, this was a cute short story.

The characters were decent.
Personally, I would have liked more details.
More character building. Slower romance.
Didn't feel like I knew them enough to make a connection.
Never fully understood what Casey's job was and I don't think Charlie's occupation was mentioned.
Another thing I would have liked to know - why her original anxiety/depression issues began.
Delving into a deeper subject of mental health, most likely wasn't the story focus.

Being a dog owner, I enjoyed the bits with Baloo and learning more about the shelter,
Happawly Ever After.

Overall, this was a quick read.
Nothing pulling me to check if there's another book available in the series though.

I received this electronic book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this opportunity!

Lost dog meets lost soul...
Casey was strolling the park when she spots a dog and slowly approaches the dog... The lost dog decided to follow Casey back her home. Casey brings a dog to her home and starting her search to find the owner. When she had no luck finding a owner, she contacts Happawly Ever After dog rescue for help.
Casey and her roommate gives love that puppy needed while Samara from rescue can come and take him. While he was with her, she decided to hand out fliers and posters around the park where she found him.
Then she meets cute jogger Charlie and he asks her out on a date.
When everything is going so well for the Baloo (dog's adopted name) and Casey, she loses dog on her date night. She almost loses her mind about her date with Charlie. When he was about to leave, Casey comes home and explains the situation to him. Casey contacted everyone to help out to look for Baloo and Charlie as well.
After couple hours of agony, Charlie finds Baloo but he is injured while trying to rescue the Baloo. Their first date doesn't pan out as they wanted but it definitely was different from other dates. They learn about each other and they were decided to move on forward with this relationship.
Baloo is in temporary care of Casey and both are adjusting to each other while waiting for forever home. Having Baloo in the house makes Casey happier than before.
Relationship between Charlie and Casey is tested when she finds out about his ex-girlfriend and their dog. And when they had their first argument, Casey thinks too much and avoids Charlie all together. She is not sure about anything and her feelings are spiraling down.
Now she can't imagine letting Baloo go to anyone. When she finds out there will be someone else and what will happen to Casey and Charlie?? Will they move on or find their way back?
Con of this book was that Casey is constantly doubting herself and it seems bit much (but that is some what answered at the end of the book. Not completely explained).

This was sweet. I really identified with MC from thr beginning wigh her social awkwardness and introversion. And then came Baloo, who pretty much stole the show. I also really liked Charlie and what a nice guy he was, especially how unassuming he was (I am all about the beta guys *sigh*).

This was a fun and thoughtful rom-com that was definitely for dog lovers. The real romance here was Baloo and his new owners. Which was very sweet.

I liked all of the details about dog rescues and how much character growth Baloo brought on, as well as how he warmed up.

Could have possibly used more development on the human relationship side, though it was a pleasant read. It reminded me of one of those Hallmark movies that gives you the warm fuzzies.

Finding their way to each other, Charlie and Casey met because of a lost dog. It was never a cliché and it actually CAN happen in real life which was clever by the way. But there were chapters that were too elaborated, and it didn't make up for the entire story thus making it tedious. The lack of dialogues were even made this flat and monotonous. I wish the unnecessary dramas were less to make this more enjoyable.

Overall, I would still recommend this to everyone who's looking for a "HapPAWly Ever After" romance read.

Very cute lightweight romance. I found the characters pleasant and quite like able and the story never dragged. The puppy problem kept it moving forward and the ending was lovely. I will be suggesting this online and to readers in person.. Thank you!
