This was a great read. Grace and Logan together as a couple is great. The fact that they overcome so much even with Grace's psycho parents getting in the way is what made this book so good.

I really enjoyed this book. I really enjoy Ms. Stoker’s tales and this is a great beginning to a new series. It does deal with some pretty heavy subjects including physical and emotional abuse, kidnapping and control if these are hard topics for you to read about this might not be the book for you but I do have to say that from my perspective they were handled very well. Grace and Logan had feelings for each other in high school but for a number of reasons they never really had a chance, now it's 10 years later and they are once again living in the same town and have a second chance. There are still plenty of obstacles in their way though including misunderstanding, controlling parents and fear. I loved watching these two come together and I loved watching Grace learn to articulate her strength. Though she sometimes seems like a doormat for her parents she was strong all along, you would have to be to remain as sweet as she is, all she had to learn was how to channel her strength and make it seen. I will be eagerly looking forward to the rest of this series, I can't wait to see what’s in store for Logan’s brothers. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through net galley in exchange for an honest review.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, heat, abuse, suspense, twists & turns, secrets, lies, and heartbreak.

This is Grace and Logan’s story. Years ago, Logan and Grace were best friends. But when he went off the Army and she never answered his letters. Now he is back in town and can see that Grace is under her family’s control. When he escaped the town, she got pulled so far under her family’s control she does not see a way out. When Logan comes back she wishes for him to rescue her and take her away from all the control. But her family is willing to do everything they can to keep those two apart. Will they be able to fight together for her to get away? Get ready for an action-packed suspenseful ride.

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Claiming Grace by Susan Stoker is the first installment in The Ace Security Series.
Meet Grace Masen and Logan Anderson.
Logan Anderson and his triplet brothers start their own security company, Ace Security. A company that helps abused wifes and husbands.
Grace is the highschool girlfriend of Logan. Both broke up, but neither knows the reason.
Grace lives under the thumb of her parents.
Both have scars, visble and invisible.
I greatly enjoyed reading how Grace was rescued and loved by friends and the Anderson triplets.
This book has it all, love, drama, hate, violence and a beautiful, beautiful HEA.
I liked the writing and I liked the characters, even the evil ones.
4,5Stars and Thank you Susan Stoker !!

This is book one in the Ace Security series and it features Logan Anderson and Grace Mason. Their story started 10 years ago but ended before it could grow. Abuse comes in many forms and just because there are no marks on someone's body doesn't mean they aren't being abused. The abuse broke my heart and all I can say is thank God for good friends. This wonderful story is full of love, acceptance, friendship and doing your part, big or small, to right some of the wrongs in your corner of the world.

Great opener for the Ace Security series. I'm looking forward to watching each of the remaining Anderson brothers find the ONE.

Claiming Grace is the first book I've read by Susan Stoker, but certainly not the last and definitely not the first I've wanted to read. The first of the Ace Security series was a good start, in my opinion. It has all the feels one could ask for in a romance, including a few others, I hadn't expected.

Ace Security is the Anderson brothers who move back home after the tragic murder of their father, after years of abuse of their father at the hands of their mother. Her subsequent suicide means nothing to them, but their father's death solidifies their need to help others in the same situation.

Logan, the eldest, having been the one who protected his triplet brothers from the fists of his mother growing up, was the cataylist behind the move, but not the only one with the expertise. All three brothers bring strong emotions to the table which will play an integral part in future books I am sure. In Claiming Grace, Logan's childhood sweetheart, of a sort, the girl who broke his heart by never writing to him when he went into the Army, is still his obsession as the story unfolds.

Grace, we discover, has never let the torch for Logan burn out. Instead, things are brought to light which may be difficult for many readers may have difficulty reading, or may trigger memories they wish not to remember. How Stoker addresses abuse is definitely not placating and very real.

The romance and healing processes of both Logan and Grace is sweet, loving and moves from innocent love of children to the lust and physical love of adults. I would really like to have gotten more into both their heads, but the story was fulfilling. We need more real Ace Security Agencies around.

Claiming Grace has a very different feel to Ms Stoker's previous military romances. This is Grace and Logan's second chance story. Grace and Logan were each other's high school crush and reunite when Logan returns to their hometown to start ACE security with his brothers.

Grace is an incredibly endearing and strong character who blooms over the course of the book. Grace she is kind, loving, caring, sensitive and sweet, and completely starved for love and affection. Logan is a sweet, caring and loyal bad-ass alpha determined to protect others from abuse. With Logan, Grace is able to find comfort, control, love and safety.

Grace endures so much living under the thumbs of her wealthy, corrupt, manipulative and controlling parents. They constantly play with her emotions, and are quite evil individuals and seem to lack a moral compass.
Overall Claiming Grace is a very well written, emotion filled read, full of intrigue that kept me completely engaged from start to finish and I look forward to reading the next title in this series.

Claiming Grace is another winner for Susan Stoker. I have been hooked on her books since reading Protecting Caroline several months ago. Claiming Grace is a bit different than some of Ms. Stoker's other books in that it tackles some real issues, both for women and men. Without giving away the plot, Grace has been going through hell her entire life until Logan, an old flame, steps in. With help from Logan's two brothers and a couple of Grace's friends, Grace is finally free of her tormentors and finally finds the happiness that she so deserves. A must read for Susan Stoker fans and a great way to get hooked on her other books, as well.

I received this digital book in exchange for an honest review.

This book really pulled at my heartstrings as well as emotions. The two main characters have each had their share of abuse and prove that one can still be a victim even if physical violence isn't involved. Too many dismiss the idea that if someone isn't physically hurt, then it's not abuse by someone being weak. Sometimes, it's even worse than the physical as studies have often shown.

To get on with the storyline, both Grace and Logan grew up in the same town though came from different parts and yet were connected with their love of learning and wanting to escape their parents as soon as possible. Logan, along with his two other brothers (they're triplets) was able to escape his abusive mother by going off to the Army at age eighteen with the promise to write Grace and possibly date her if things were to go well while his siblings went off to do their own thing.

Grace on the other hand, was not able to escape her parents at the same age and went through a lot of emotional abuse over the following ten years with each year getting a little worse being the only daughter of two very rich but crazy people who have tried to manipulate and shape Grace a certain way since she was a child. She's a sweet girl who has a strong will and yet just wants her parents to love her as she is, feels stuck working at their law firm and wonders if she'll ever truly be free to do as she pleases. Luckily her best friend Felicity and Fate have a different plan for her than the selfish parents.

When Logan as well as his brothers come back into town after their parents die, Grace has no idea just how much having Logan back in her life will change things but she's never stopped thinking about the boy who never wrote. Grace soon learns that things aren't as simple as Logan not writing and the truth will leave her reeling. When she attempts to talk to her parents about the prospect of finally following one of her dreams, things go very wrong and the result will have Grace thinking twice about not only her point of view but that her parents are truly terribly messed up people.

It was not easy reading about the abuse that both Grace and Logan suffered but knowing that there's a silver lining at the end of the rainstorm made it much easier. It also helped that there were several steamy scenes and funny moments tossed into the mix. The storyline was written in such a way that it was hard to stop despite worrying about what next might happen to Grace.

This book is not for the weak of heart or those that aren't prepared to read about abuse and yet there's so much more to this story than two people who come from messed up family. There are good people who come from terrible situations, powerful friendship ties, the power of believing in yourself, the power of determination and that just will prevail when given enough time.

I look forward to reading more in this series and hopefully Logan's other brothers will get their own happily ever after.

So I have to say, I've met Susan and she's super sweet and fun! And even though I bought several of her books, I haven't had a chance to read them due to my blog schedule but she's been on my radar for awhile. I was excited to get the opportunity to review the start to her new series! And I was immediately hooked in Logan and Grace's world.
I liked how the beginning of this book showed the brothers struggle and how Ace Security was started. We got a glimpse into their past and why they wanted to start their company. Then we start to see Logan and Grace in their lives. Logan and Grace have been avoiding each other, even though their friends want them to talk. They each are doing their own thing, now in the same town. Because of Grace's friendship with Felicity, we start to see the hold her parents have on her life. And let me tell you, reader! My blood was about to boil when we first started seeing Grace's home life. Her mom and dad have GOT TO GO! Despite the craziness around her, Grace is a strong woman, looking for a way to live her life. I felt a mix of horror, sadness and mad at the life she was living. I was cheering her on.
I liked that Grace and Logan had a past. She knew he was someone she could trust. And she was still attracted to him and wanted to know the man he had become. He, too, felt her pull and wanted to help and get to know her. Their story is a slow simmer that developed into a hot burn and I was completely captured by them. I didn't want the story to end and I was on the edge of my seat throughout this book. I loved that we saw glimpses of new characters and what was to come next in this series. Now I find myself anxiously awaiting Claiming Alexis. Grab this book today!

Claiming Grace by Susan Stoker
Book #1: Ace Security Series
Source: Netgalley
My Rating: 4½/5 stars
My Review:

Hello, Susan Stoker and welcome to my world!! As you already figured out, Claiming Grace was my first Susan Stoker read, and holy hell, am I glad I started here!!

As the story opens, the three Anderson boys, Logan, Blake, and Nathan are standing beside their father’s grave lamenting not only their loss, but the unfortunate circumstances of their shared lives. The boys and their father, Ace, spent a lifetime suffering physical abuse at the hands of their wretched mother. Ace’s death was the result of her madness reaching a horrifying conclusion which has left Anderson boys orphaned and looking for a way to help others in situations much like their own. Out of tragedy is born Ace Security, a firm dedicated to helping abuse victims in a wide variety of ways including personal protection, court appearance companions, and rescue should the situation call for it. Never, in a thousand lifetimes could the boys imagine how in demand their services will be and how close to home they will be working.

Coming home wasn’t something Logan Anderson ever saw himself doing, but the chance to reconnect and work with his brothers was too hard to resist. Additionally, coming home means once again seeing Grace, the woman who broke his heart a decade ago. As a teenager, Logan fell hard for Grace and thought she had done the same with him. Time, distance, and a slew of unanswered letters proved otherwise. Seeing Grace again, as a beautiful and curvy woman, is more than Logan could have every hoped for, but talking to her is a cat of a different color. He doesn’t understand how and why Grace abandoned him so many years ago, and the only way he’s going to find out is if he talks to her. Swallowing his pride isn’t easy, but getting answers is worth it.

The answers Logan gets from Grace and her only two friends not only disturb him, but cause him to reevaluate his definition of abuse. As it turns out, Grace has been living her life in fear, in fear of her parents, their harsh words, and threats to the safety of herself and her two friends. Every aspect of Grace’s life, from the moment she was born has been monitored, controlled, and abused by her parents. Any attempt to free herself from their control has resulted in limited physical violence and threats her well-connected, wealthy parents could certainly pull off. Getting away from them is of the highest priority and it’s going to take the help of Logan, his brothers, and her two friends to see to Grace’s safety and security.

The Bottom Line: Holy crap did I LOVE this book!! From the beginning to the end, which I managed in one sitting, I was wrapped up, consumed by this read. All three Anderson brothers are yummy, nerdy, sexy, and honorable which makes their chosen profession so very appropriate. While the book contains information about all three brothers, Claiming Grace is Logan’s story, and what a story it is. Logan must readjust his thinking and call on all his resources to save Grace which creates a real sense of evolution in his character. Grace is likeable character, especially when she takes control of her own life, but this story was all about Logan for me. Grace is a nice compliment to Logan and enhances his character and his life. I see these two being the nucleus of the group as the series continues and each only getting stronger as the series continues.

I have read quite a few of Susan Stoker's books and Claiming Grace is one of her best. Her hero, Logan and heroine, Grace are a couple of star crossed sweethearts from high school. They reunite a decade later and work to overcome obstacles that have been keeping them apart. It's a sweet and sexy story of lost love found again.

Claiming Grace is an emotional charged and gripping read. This one had me on the edge of my seat a couple of times and wanting to take a couple people aside and smack them down. In other words, I really got into this story. This may be a challenging read if you have ever been in an abusive situation but it was a good story with lots of twists and turns and of course the good guys win in the end :)

Susan Stoker is on my favorites list to start with but the more of her books I read the higher she is climbing.

Missed opportunities. Controlling families. A love from the past thant wasn't meant to be. Or was it. Grace and Logan have the second chance they never expected and may risk everything to take it.

From a very prolific author wo writes in multiple romance genres, a fresh and fun beach read. I recommend this book to my friends.

I enjoyed the first half of the book where Logan and Grace reunited after being separated post-high school due to his military commitment and her crazy family. The backstory of the bad boy and the good girl was interesting. I also appreciated the fact that the author didn’t keep the MCs stuck in the past forever and ever and quickly resolved that conflict.

Where I started losing it was the Grace crazy/over-the-top parents’ storyline. What they did to her just didn’t compute in my brain and their second to last act was so over-the-top psycho I couldn’t believe Grace didn’t fight back when given the chance. I had to suspend a lot of disbelief at that point.

The final losing me point though was when Grace met her father without Logan or his 2 brothers. Logan is out of town traveling back but his 2 brothers are in town. He doesn’t think at some point to call them and give them a heads up and say “stay with Grace”? And the one brother has his headphones on and misses the phone calls later? All I can think is “what kind of security company are these guys when they can’t keep Grace safe?!” I get it is part of the story but it made no sense.

I am not sure what happened, as I usually really like this author, but this is a DNF for me. I just couldn't get into the title. I am going to count this as the one of hers I am not a fan of and move on.

Thank you for the opportunity!

3 Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

Logan and his brothers return home to say a final goodbye to their father. They all feel guilt for something that was beyond their control. Now with a plan in motion they vow to return home and help others. They can’t change the past but they can help with the future.

Susan Stoker took on a topic that is rare to find in any other book and she executed it well. She gave us not one but two sides to the topic and two different forms of it too. She also showed us how many have a misinterpretation of the topic and are often blinded by just how harmful and mentally damaging it can be.

Claiming Grace is a story that brings to the forefront a topic that is often cast aside and swept away. It also holds a message that things are not always as they seem and people without our knowledge are living a life of agony and that abuse both physically and mentally comes in many forms.

As much as I enjoyed this story there were parts in this book that took some of the enjoyment away. I found it hard to ignore them and simply enjoy the story. I also didn’t relate to Logan and Grace as well as I have other characters of Susan Stoker’s. With this said it didn’t take away from the bigger picture of this story and I was still able to read it and appreciate it.

I loved the Anderson brothers when they were all together. They were a great team and all had the same goal. They also helped to support each other and bring out the best in each other.

Claiming Grace is a good start to the Ace Security series and I look forward to reading Blake and Nathan’s stories.

If you enjoy suspense, romance stories, you will want to give Claiming Grace a try.

I have never read a Susan Stoker book that I have not liked! I like this series because it so different. There are so many books about abuse and women, but there are not many about abuse and men. Logan, Blake, and Nathan grew up with an abusive mother, who abused them and their father. The three get together to create an agency to help with abuse. Logan knows all about physical abuse, but he thinks that emotional abuse is something made up. Grace Mason was Logan’s girlfriend until he left for basic training. Logan thinks that Grace found something better while he was gone, and Grace thinks that Logan moved on quickly after leaving home. Neither knows that there were forces trying to keep them apart.
Grace has been controlled by her parents all her life, and she does not know how to escape. She has grown in a home where she was repeatedly told that she was not good enough. Everyone in their town thinks that Grace has the perfect life, but no one knows about the nightmare her life really is. Emotional abuse is a difficult topic, but Susan Stoker wrote it perfectly. She wrote for people who know emotional abuse, and for people who think that there is no such thing as emotional abuse. Another fantastic read! I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Im a huge Susan Stoker fan. I had high expectations for this book, as Susan has a way of telling a story and making it come to life for you.

I was NOT disappointed! This story pulled my heart strings in so many ways. It also pissed me off, many times. The storyline is one that made me want to teach in the book and strangle people, throat punch others and have Grace's head examined....

The gripping tale of three men, and one woman who all have been through so much in their lives is not only gripping it's a bit terrifying. To know they've struggled and for so many years been on their own was crushing. But when Logan and his brothers, Blake and Nathan (who are all fraternal triplets) come back to town and start Ace Security, all bets are off. Nothing is as it once seemed and now it's a race against time to make the truth be known.

Grace has been under her parents thumbs since she was born. There is no love there, they simply want to own and use her. She's their plan in a wicked game of cat and mouse, this to changes once Logan comes back to town. Grace tries to find a way free of them.... but there is no escape. Or so she thinks.

Logan and his brothers, along with their friend Cole and her Felicity are ready to turn Castlerock on its head to get her away from the manipulative grip of her nasty parents.

It's a game that Logan and crew are willing to fight until they can fight no more. In the end, Grace has to be able to handle what's happening.... and make her own choices. Live free, or stay hidden and alone forever.
