Many years ago I read a trilogy about the Princes of Wales which I really enjoyed, so I was expecting a lot from this book. Sadly it didn't live up to my expectations. Writing a fiction book using real historical people is difficult and the characters have to be brought to life by the author - but for me they weren't. I didn't feel the book flowed and found myself skipping large parts in order to get to a more interesting bit - and ultimately finish it so I could read something else!
