This was enjoyed by my daughter but little educational value so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. I felt it was too bright and simplistic and personally I think maybe too much.

I tried reading this on Kindle and pdf but the pictures and texts were so small. If the publisher could change that I think it would be hit just as any barbie story is.

Barbie feels a little too glamorous for some of the adventures that she goes on in these books. I'd love to see her not just in jeans, but without enormous hair volume. What if sometimes when she took care of a puppy, she just wore regular clothes?

My daughter loved this book. She love to read mostly anything about Barbie. I could hear her laughing and I did not have to help her read it. Thanks

The girls find a lost dog and decide the best way to find the owner—as well as helping to get shelter dogs adopted—is to hold a party. The puppies they already have get a bit jealous, because today was supposed to be about them and their birthdays.
When I first saw this title I couldn’t imagine more than a few pages of such a story, but it turned out to be a great plot device. The best part is the dogs talk, albeit only to each other and not to dumb humans. If I had to choose a favorite it would be the one who wants bacon all the time. Or tennis balls.
Took a while to figure out which girl was which: Skipper has purple/brown hair and is internet-obsessed, Chelsea’s the youngest, Stacie’s the other one by default, with Barbie of course being the oldest. This Barbie is a lot different than the usual stereotype. Then it turns out they’re a singing group, which explains a lot.
“How am I going to save up enough money when there’s so much ice cream in the world?” An existential question if ever there was one.
Simple yet elegant and effective, as opposed to a lot of graphic novels that take advantage of not having to pay a huge special effects budget by throwing everything into a frame. There’s a guy with red curly hair, black eyebrows, and the tiniest goatee ever; hope he’s based on someone the illustrator knows.
Five pages of “Barbie: Fashion Superstar” preview at the end.

While the art was not all that great, it was a wonderful story.

The story of Barbie and her sisters, Skipper, Stacie, and Chelsea, Puppy Party is the second in a group of graphic novels by Danica Davidson; her debut book featuring Barbie is Fashion Star. This particular tale is the first in the Barbie Puppies series.

The pop culture icons have been modernized! For example, Barbie utilizes a cell phone search to locate information and Skipper has purple highlights; she even has a blog! I loved seeing my beloved childhood 'friends' updated to fit with current times.

I personally love both graphic novels and Barbies; therefore, this story is right up my alley. It's perfect for child and adult Barbie fans alike!

Not only are the story and graphics adorable, but important lessons are also touched upon. The sisters demonstrate to readers the values of passion about a cause and the rewarding experience of volunteering to help others.

I look forward to reading Fashion Star as well as additional graphic novels by Davidson!

For a girly graphic novel, I actually had a lot of fun reading this. It was very cute too. The text is easy to read, which I find important in graphic novels, and I really liked the illustrations. The story has a surprise happy ending that I think future readers will like. This was easy to read, and wouldn't be a challenge for most young readers. Girls who love stories about dogs or with lots of dogs will especially enjoy this one.
After the book is finished, there is a sample for Barbie Graphic Novel: Fashion Superstar. It briefly introduces that graphic novel which was the first Barbie graphic novel, stated in this book. There is also a hint of a sequel to the Barbie Puppies story line.
