Paul is a businessman and serial investor/ entrepreneur who shares his experience and strategies for anyone wanting to start something (maybe a side hustle alongside your 9-5 or invest in a new venture).

He repeatedly encourages the art of writing down plans by storytelling or taking down ideas by making a storyboard and plan on paper (not in your head). Then be on the look out for opportunities where competition is lacking…don’t follow the herd.

At the end of each chapter, there are action steps provided for readers to take. He helps readers decide if they are leaders or managers (you cannot do both at the same time…duh!).

He tells the story of Tula, a Nigerian Businessman he met online and later on in person. Although Tula’s business was in jeopardy, Paul was adamant about not giving him a hand out. Instead, he gave insights to possibilities Tula could latch on to.

Favourite quote: “As a leader, you need to know where you are, and only numbers will tell you.”

Rating: 4/5

Recommendation: You definitely need to read this book twice. I was initially bothered about how the repetitions of how he started his businesses etc; but one you get past that, you realise Paul is not providing fluffy advice. He provides practical actions for identifying opportunities and growing a business.
