This is the second book in the series and I enjoyed it even more than the first time. Daisy is a strong women trapped by her late husbands demand that she remarry. Clailean is a laird who had his heart broken at a young age and at 35 feels he is to old to think of marriage. Their journey to their HEA has some twists and turns but is well worth the trip... I can't wait for Rabbie Mackenzie's story in HARD HEARTED HIGHLANDER.

Julia London is one of those authors who knows how to hook you in the historical genre. She breathes life into the setting and characters so that you are transported to a different place and time.

Her latest novel follows a widow on a trek to from London to Scotland trying to temporarily escape the confines and suitors that her late husband's will impose on her. Although the marriage was an arranged one, she was dutiful and caring and thought her marriage evolved into a loving, respectful relationship. After her husband dies, she finds out that her role was more about providing an heir and that her late husband did not believe her capable of making decisions about her son's future. Thus, the will required she marry within 3 years or lose her son's inheritance. Betrayal at its worst.

With her family and caretakers, she embarks on a trip to a far off and little used property to escape and ponder her fate. Throw in a long lost love from her youth, a wild and handsome Scottish man with his own responsibilities and issues, a little bit of smuggling, London's ability to transport you to places and times unseen, and you will find that hook that will make any rainy day pass rather quickly.

In the first book of this series, Wild Wicked Scot, we are introduced to Arren and Margot. In this the second book of the series some years have passed and this is the story of their oldest son, Cailean and his falling in love with Sassenach, Daisy. Cailean has fought against his attraction to the flirty Daisy because he knows she must marry an Englishman to protect her son’s inheritance. There are reasons he feels he could never reside in England and he determines to encourage her to marry someone else. Daisy knows that she must marry by year’s end. She thinks that Robert her love of her teen years will suit, but she can’t reconcile her attraction to Cailean.

Once again I have enjoyed the well-developed characters in this series. The story is page-turning interesting. I liked both Daisy, who knew what she wanted but also knew her duty to her son, and Cailean who knew he had to let her go. The problems were tied up a bit too conveniently but the addition of a character from book one was welcome at the end. I hope Knox gets his own book.

This is a standalone novel with cameos by characters from the first book in the series. You can pick up this one without having read the first and you will not be lost although I encourage you to enjoy the first book.

This is Daisy and Cailean's story. Daisy has to marry to save her son's future. Cailean is Scottish and she is English. He is a laird accused of smuggling. The bishop wants her to marry someone more appropriate but she loves Cailean. True love conquers all and her son thrives. It was engaging read.

i really liked this story with its unique (to me) plot line. I thought I was doing pretty well with the Scottish Gaelic to English translation but I did find via google an online dictionary that helped me know I was doing okay with my word translations. Back to the story.. I had trouble putting the book down for minor things like taking a meal or getting some sleep. I hope you like this book as much as I did.

Another great love story by Julia London! I enjoy a good Highland Romance with a strong male character, and I found just that in Sinful Scottish Laird. The interactions between Daisy and Cailean were well written with not a lot of mushy romance. The only thing that really bothered me was the overuse of the term "aye". It was used so much by the Scottish characters that it did not seem realistic. Other than that, it was a great story.

This book is second in the series. It's about Arrans and Margots oldest son Cailean and how he finds his true love Daisy. Their relationship is honest and true from the start. They know where each other stood, no games or secrets. I really liked how Daisy always stood up for herself and didn't let anyone push her around for she had more then her share trying to do so.
This is a wonderful read and I enjoyed it a lot.

It was such a great story that I finished it in less than two days!

After reading about Arran and Margot Mackenzie's story, I couldn't wait to get my hands on reading about a grown up Cailean who is their eldest son that will day be Laird of the Mackenzies and take up residence at Balhaire and has remained a bachelor, much to his mother's annoyance.

Daisy Chatwick is a young widow and mother who has come to Auchenard which is in the Scottish Highlands with her Uncle Alfonso, her eight year old son Ellis, and her cousin Belinda from London to await hearing from a Captain Spivey whom she once loved before her marriage and could very well save her from fortune hunters who have learned of her interesting situation which is to find another husband by the end of the year or her son's fortune will be taken away.

Just before they read Auchenard, they temporarily have a break down and Cailean comes riding in, offering assistance. At first their hired coach mistakes Cailean and his crew as highwaymen and that gets sorted out. Daisy finds herself drawn to him in a way she hasn't with any other man but manages to keep her cool and sends him on his way.

Once they arrive at Auchenard, they are shocked by the state of it which has fallen into disrepair mostly due a caretaker caring more about drinking than looking after what is essentially a large hunting lodge. It's an adjustment for everyone to be at Auchenard and takes a lot of hard work as well as money to be livable but everyone rallies together and makes it work.

As Daisy and Cailean find themselves running into each other as they are neighbors, it becomes harder to resist the attraction they feel for each other. There were several steamy scenes that certainly mentions just how much stamina a Scotsman can have and feelings more than just a flirtation develop though they both try to fight it.

Much as these two should be together in my personal opinion, it's easier said than done as they both have responsibilities and tensions are high as it's the early 1740's when the Jacobites are rallying and it's a very dangerous time.

When something is meant to be though, it will find a way to happen and I really do think these two are amazing people that just need some nudging to realize how right they are together.

Full of humor, the power of love, steamy scenes, adventure and believing in the unexpected, it was well worth the wait of getting to reading this book earlier than its publication. I can't wait to read more about the Mackenzie clan and be immersed in the Scottish Highlands!

I downloaded this on a whim and was interested by the plot line.

I liked Daisy and Cailean. Of course she's outgoing and he's stubborn and it was amusing to read them dance around each other. The banter was fun and the chemistry was off the charts. I especially loved the scenes with Cailean and his mother.

At times, the writing was a bit dense and the plot did get repetitive, but I liked where it was going. And I loved the ending. Overall, I'm intrigued at the idea of other books in the series.

A sigh inducing romance. I must say it is a great read! For each page that immersed me in the story I could not read fast enough. I loved every element inside it. Each character the intrigue the suspense, the romance and the passion. Unfolding the plot and the story at a great pace and keeping me captivated while it emerged. There is not a lot to say without spoiling the story for you. If your a fan of Scottish Historical Romances then this is definitely a read for you. You will be captured, entertained and engrossed, while wanting more at the end. This writer is clearly gifted in her storytelling abilities. I was given this book in return for an honest review. This book was a disappointment. Any progress that London had made with Wild Wicked Scot was lost in this book. To begin with it is difficult in the beginning to find the connection between the books. The backstories are confusing and feel incomplete. My biggest issue, though, was the male lead Cailean. He is very unlikable. He spends most of the book being surly without a single moment of charm. He is also extremely and illogical. In the same conversation he warns the heroine about a someone and encourages her to marry that person.

I honestly had no desire to finish the book.

Daisy Chatwick is traveling to her son's hunting cabin in Scotland to temporarily escape the edict her deceased husband laid down....she must marry in 3 years to a husband approved by his bishop. The proposed husbands were sadly lacking in one respect or another....most were like the deceased...older and after the control of the large amount of money her son would inherit someday. If she can hide out until Rob Spivey, a suitor from her past, can arrive, she believes she can avoid a loveless marriage.
Near the end of her journey..she encounters one hot and sexy Scot...Cailean Mackenzie, Lord Arrandale. Sparks fly between them and she is no longer sure of what she wants.
Grab this sweet and hotly sexy historical. You'll be glad you did. I was fortunate enough to be chosen to read the ARC free for my honest opinion and find this will be the perfect gift to buy for a friend's upcoming birthday.

London has created another smoking hot manly Scottish laird for us to drool over. She writes great characters who are easy to love and to root for. I can't wait for the next in the series.
