This is the second book in the Pancake House Mystery series. I would be happy if there are more books to come. I read the first book, Crepes of Wrath and thought it was great. This was a really good cozy mystery. The main character, Marley, was likable, and the plot made sense. Too many times, I read mystery stories where the motive for murder seems super random, and hard to understand. Wildwood Cove sounds like a great place to live, and the Flip Side Pancake house sounds like a great place to eat. I wish I could visit this town. I found the descriptions of life on the beach very relaxing. It made me wish I had a cute little beach house too.

Marley has decided to stay on in Wildwood Cove and seems to be making a good life for herself. The only problem is someone is vandalizing her business. She discovers that it is Ida Winkler, a cranky older person who blames Marley for putting her nephew in prison. The police are not much help, as they think Ida's vandalism falls under the category of "pranks." Marley goes to Ida's house to confront her, and finds that someone has murdered Ida.

Since Marley found her body, and because of her past history with Ida, Marley is a suspect in the murder. Marley decides to look into Ida's death to help clear her name (and also because she is a snoop who can't let things go). It turns out, Ida was not well liked by her neighbors, and had managed to alienate almost everyone around her. Subplots of meth labs, illegal dumping and blackmail abound. Marley is continuing her romance with Brett from the first book. I love how Ivan steps up and we get to see more of the cook from The Flip Side. He is a great character.

I enjoyed this book and thought it was a nice continuation of the series. This is one series that I definitely want to see more of and plan on reading any future books.

I received a free ARC from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Titles of books are so important. but For Who the Bread Rolls title baffled me from the beginning. I felt the plot was too confusing, there were too many suspects and too many spin off plots. Not sure I will read other books in this series.

Although not quite as good as the original, this still has a great mystery with a surprise twist at the end. It did feel as though it was going in a few too many directions, but it was nice learning more about the characters lives.

Having enjoyed the first volume of the series, I jumped at the chance to read this when Netgalley listed it and was not disappointed. Although many of the characters have carried through (including the pancake house) one need not have read the first to enjoy the second. I found myself envious of the heroine's lifestyle which seems to involve a daily indulgence in swimming at her beachfront house after her day's work.

So we are dealing with nasty Ida who is causing mischief and making life hard for Marley who is still trying to come to terms with her own past. Let's stir in a little romance, some environmental issues, a cat and a dog. Recipe for success!

This is another fun entry in this fun series, that leaves you hungry in more ways than one! When the tables are turned on Marley's arch enemy she does what most won't-finding out what happened to her and seeking justice for her. It's a fun quick romp, and a perfect addition to this delightful series! The descriptions of food while leave you running to the kitchen to make some breakfast food too! It's the perfect way to beat the Winter doldrums too!

Marley McKinney, owner of the Flip Side restaurant, is loving life in Wildwood Cove. Everything seems to be going her way except when local pest Ida Winkler makes crank calls and vandalizes the restaurant. Ida blames Marley for putting her nephew in prison. When Marley walks to Ida’s house to talk with her, she finds Ida dead. Now, Marley is the prime suspect. Can she find out whodunit before her life in Wildwood Cove is ruined?
This book is a great cozy mystery read. I loved how well developed the characters were. Enough red herrings kept me guessing who killed Ida, and I was happily surprised in the end. I can’t wait to read the next Pancake House mystery. An Advanced Reading Copy was received in exchange for an honest review.

The pancake house is doing well. Now if she could just get Ida to leave her alone, she'd be happy. Ida blames her for her nephew being in jail. So she spray paints her shop and calls and calls and calls with no message, not even saying a thing. When Marley checks on the call and finds it's Ida's number, she decides to go see her and ask her to stop. She doubts it will do any good but she has to do something. She finds Ida in the shed in back. She's dead and the murder weapon is a lamp base that Marley bought and Ida stole...

Alibi and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you). It will be published March 14th.

Of course, Marley becomes the chief suspect. She was mad at Ida and the weapon belonged to her. The only way she's going to get this over with quickly is to solve the case herself. If she doesn't the gossip in town will kill her business.

While she's sleuthing and getting in the cop's way, she also wondering if she can commit enough to have a good relationship with her boyfriend. She loves him but she's been burned before. It's a good thing she has Flapjack, her cat, for comfort. She has her love, too, when she finally makes up her mind.

It's also a good thing she has her tattooed cook on her side. He helps keep her alive. This might be a small coastal community but it has meth labs being dumped. Ida should have kept her lips shut. Marley almost becomes another statistic before this story is over. Even small towns can have big messes.

Marley is back in the second cozy mystery from Sarah Fox. Marley is settling in nicely in being owner of The Flip Side. But Ida Winkler is still causing trouble and not just for Marley. This leads to her murder with Marley as the primary suspect. With twists and turns, surprises and romance this is a super cozy mystery and I am looking forward to the next one in the series. I received this from Netgalley and the publisher for a review.

I like this cozy mystery series set at The Flip Side, a pancake house in a small coastal town on the Olympic Peninsula. This is the second book and Marley is settling into life in Wildwood Cove and her relationship with Brett and running the cafe.pancake house left to her by her cousin in the fist book.
Unfortunately someone is harassing Marley and vandalizing The Flip Side and Marley strongly suspects it is an old employee and her nemesis-of-sorts in the last book, Ida Winkler. When Marley goes to talk to Ida, she finds someone has murdered her. Marley is a person-of -interest in the murder and so she works to clear her name so The Flip Side doesn't lose any business and quickly learns that several people in the town had reason to want to eliminate Ida.

The mystery had a few good twists and had me doubting my confidence in the whodunit--something I like in a cozy. Marley is a good character and I like the supporting characters at The Flip Side and within the town. There are tempting descriptions of food and a few recipes included, making this a fun foodie cozy and I look forward to reading more as the series develops. Since this is only the second book, I'd start with the first, The Crepes of Wrath.

Another delightful cozy where Marley finds herself trying to solve a mystery where she is a "person of interest."
As the suspect list grows, so does the danger to Marley. Several unexpected twists keep the interest growing.

For Whom The Bread Rolls is the second book in the Pancake House Mystery series. I did not read the first book before requesting the opportunity to review this one. Sometimes that makes a book hard to follow but that was not the case here. I felt the author offered a sufficient introduction to the characters and the back story to allow me to easily merge into the storyline.
Marley is an interesting character, a woman who has come to a small town in the Pacific Northwest to live and work following her uncle's death. She runs his pankcake house and is doing a good business. Unfortunately, Ida is causing her trouble, then Ida winds up dead and Marley is the one to find the body. Because of her trouble with Ida, Marley is a suspect.
What no one seems to expect is who really committed murder. The book comes to a pulse raising climax and ends on with a calm family gathering,
I didn't suspect the murderer and that has the makings of a good mystery .

I got to chapter 10 and decided this book was so boring I decided I couldn't finish. After reading another seaside cozy that had a great pace, better fleshed out characters, and better descriptions of the protagonists surroundings; this story just falls flat. The characters were shallow in introduction. I got tired of reading about Marley swimming in the ocean and cuddling with her kitten. She spent an awful lot of time fawning over her new boyfriend. This story just wasn't able to quite pull me. The writing just lacked the excitement needed to pull me into the mystery and ongoing drama. I had high hopes for this story since I found the concept of a pancake house to be an interesting concept I had yet to come across in a cozy.

I had a hard time getting interested in the book. I don't think there is anything wrong with the storyline or the writing, it just wasn't for me.

The mystery was good, but the plot dragged a bit. Marley went swimming in the ocean a lot, but it never really had anything to do with the plot. The pacing would have been a lot better if those parts were cut out since they had nothing to do with the murder or character development.

This is the second in this series. The characters are developing but remain true to their initial personality from the first book. The mystery has twists and turns to keep one guessing. I look forward to seeing Marley develop more.

A cute cozy myestery. A fast read. Interesting although not gripping. I would recommend this book if you need something slower paced between some fast paced books.

For Whom the Bread Rolls is the second book in the Pancake House series. This is a wonderfully written cozy mystery. This is a standalone with no cliffhanger, though it is open-ended for future books in the series. I really enjoyed this book. It is a perfect read for a day at the beach, a porch swing, tucked under a blanket in front of a fire, you get the picture.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat all that info here. The author did a good job of summarizing the storyline from the first book for new readers as well as describing the setting of Wildwood Cove.. Once again Marley finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation. There are a lot of clues in the storyline that keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next.

I look forward to reading more of Sarah Fox's books.

OK, the antics of Marley as a crime-solver are silly at times, as is the portrayal of the police. But any woman who loves pancakes and also a good swim in the ocean is a character I want to spend time with:>) Honestly, the plot, the murder, and the solution are secondary. If you want to spend a couple of enjoyable hours in a light-hearted read where you know everything will turn out all right, even if you can't recall the killer just a couple of days later, then this book is for you. And it really was a nice way to pass a couple of hours. Often, I would like more depth from my mysteries, but sometimes, just wading at a familiar beach is plenty:>)

For Whom the Bread Rolls by Sarah Fox was a cute cozy mystery. Murder and mayhem in a small town combined with fun, food, black mail, current events and a blossoming romance make this a fast read. Felt it could use a little more oomph. Would read other Sarah Fox books.

This was a great second offering the Pancake House Mystery series. I was completely engaged from the very beginning of the book, with the mystery developing with layer upon layer that had my mind going in every direction. The characters are likeable and there was a perfect mix of romance, mystery and small town charm. I look forward to the next book with great anticipation.
