You’ll Think of Me by Robin Lee Hatcher is the story of a reluctant homecoming and how God can transform and redeem the parts of our lives that need it the most. Robin Lee Hatcher creates well developed characters and weaves in themes of hope and redemption in a believable, natural way. This book is a lovely read if you need a fun book with a happy ending. I received a digital copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.

I had a lot of fun reading this book. Whenever I pick up a book by Robin Lee Hatcher I know I am in for a treat. You'll Think of Me was one of those books. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and find myself hoping I'll get to visit them again soon. It was interesting seeing a female character with an imperfect family. I also liked that Brooklyn didn't let her past keep her down. This book follows Brooklyn and Derek as they get to know each other and find out that what they thought they knew might not be true.

Brooklyn hasn't had an easy life. Knowing that what she went through gave her Alycia, she wouldn't change it for anything. That being said, she wouldn't mind better relationships now, if that's possible. The kindness of the people in town take her off guard, and she begins to wonder if her hometown is not as bad as she remembers. Derek her next door neighbor is one of those who seem different than what she thought. Brooklyn isn't afraid of hard work, and seeing her strength impresses Derek. Can they get to know each other as friends and start fresh? Or will the past disrupt what could have been?

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Contemporary Fiction. My interest was kept the whole time, and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. I am excited to see what Hatcher comes up with next. I received a copy of this book from Thomas Nelson in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.

Coming from a broken home and an abusive father Brooklyn left her hometown the first chance she got when she eloped with Chad. Now it's years later, ten years after Chad's abandonment and Brooklyn struggles to provide herself and her daughter a life. But when Chad suddenly dies leaving his parent's house and land to their daughter, Brooklyn reluctantly returns to the place she swore never to go back to build a new life for the two of them.

Derek isn't very happy that Chad left the land to Brooklyn and her daughter because of his and Chad's agreement that Derek would buy the land. And he's even less happy about Chad's final wish on him becoming a father figure to his daughter.

When these two meet, it was hate at first sight but it doesn't stay that way. Derek is intrigued by the woman he once knew and is slowly falling for her daughter. Brooklyn promised to never fall in love but there's just something about Derek. Something that makes her actually want to pursue the relationship.

I immensely enjoyed this book. Four stars.

I recommend this book for all ages.

What a well written beautiful story! There are layers and layers of real life in this story. Abandonment, abuse, betrayal and loss, but love, respect, kindness, and most of all redemption. This is a story of lives redeemed and love lavished. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. It's a story you stay up way too late at night to just keep reading! I couldn't put it down. I had a feeling I knew how it would end but was pleasantly surprised by some twists and turns. I was hoping there would be a little bit of conflict and I wasn't disappointed. A story can't be all flowers and sunshine after all! Characters were developed well and plot was woven beautifully. I would love to read more about these characters!

Loved this book! Another great one by Robin Lee Hatcher!
Brooklyn has a great mistrust in men and a fear of abandonment. Her mother left her at a young age to be raised by a bitter and cruel father. At the age of 17, Brooklyn eloped to Reno with her boyfriend, Chad. All was great until she became pregnant and told Chad. His response was that he wanted to have 'fun' and she had ruined it and he left her.
Brooklyn worked as a waitress and raised their daughter, Alycia, to the best of her ability and wanted her to never suffer the things she had. Chad never contacted Brooklyn, nor helped financially.
At Chad's unexpected death, Brooklyn learned he had left her his family home. She packed up her daughter and moved, hoping for a better life and having fond memories of the house. She arrived, surprised to discover the house had been shut up for many years and had much needed repairs.
Brooklyn decided to make the house into a B&B in time. Her closest neighbor was, Derek, who had been Chad's best friend. Derek resented Brooklyn for reasons I do not want to spoil for those wishing to read this book.
This book has surprises and romance. You won't be disappointed in it.

Robin Lee Hatcher has been a "go-to" author for me for a LOT of years. (We won't mention how many...) She never, ever disappoints. You'll Think of Me is the latest example of this. Anytime a book sucks me in and keeps me reading - barely stopping for sleep - it has to be pretty exceptional. I started this book yesterday afternoon, snatched 5 hours of sleep, and finished it this morning

I love Ms. Hatcher's books and You'll Think of Me was no exception. The book is extremely well written with a good plot and characters you can relate to. I was pulled immediately into this beautiful story. I recommend this book.

Brooklyn's the girl that never fit in and always wanted more, more friends more family more love. When she finds herself heading back to her home town she wonders if this is the right choice. Will she ever learn to trust men or will they continue to let her down? Derek was promised something from his best friend but it seems his friend had other promises he would have Derek keep in his death. Derek has his own thoughts and feelings of Brooklyn but when she shows up in town he is torn he knows he needs to help her because thats the way he was raised but he also wants to avoid her for his own reasons as well. Will he be able to continue to focus on his farm and his job and keep as far away or will he keep Chad's promise?

I Loved this book. I loved the fun characters of this story and how enjoyable and relatable they were. I also enjoyed the small town life how everyone knows everyone and will help no matter what and will always welcome newcomers. I also loved how the story flowed and it draws you in and keeps you going through out. I will say that I did find two parts very predictable but still very enjoyable. I loved how the author used real tough situations in the story that really got to you and got you thinking. This book is amazing and so worth the read and could not put it down.

Delightful romance for Christians (aka no steamy love scenes you don't want the kids reading!)

The idea of second chances at life are prevalent in the novel. I did enjoy the setting, too.

When a man with a life plan and a woman whose only goal is daily survival for her and her ten-year-old daughter, will their pasts and prejudices ruin a promising future?

In “You’ll Think of Me,” Robin Lee Hatcher weaves a story of letting go and learning to trust in the beauty and grandeur of southern Idaho.

Brooklyn Myers has known a lot of disappointment in her life. All she’s known is people leaving her. Her mother. Her husband. Even her father has given up on her.

Upon learning of his best friend’s decision to leave the land he’d promised Derek to his wife and child instead, Derek is engulfed by disappointment. He never much cared for Brooklyn, and here she is again. Ruining his best-laid plans.

As a former resident of Idaho, I love reading about the state in stories. And Robin Lee Hatcher is one of the best in describing the beauty and grandeur of the southern portion of that state. But the author’s true gift is in the heart of her stories.

In the struggles of her main characters, and even a couple supporting characters in a small Idaho town. “You’ll Think of Me” touches on so many difficult issues—abandonment, trust, abuse—in a poignant way.

This one is another winner from Robin Lee Hatcher.

What a beautiful cover that is, don't you think? I love the rays of sunshine coming down onto the fruit tree and the cute couple standing off to the side. At first I kept trying to figure out how the title fit the book, but I think I finally figured it out at the end. I won't spoil it for you but I will say that looking back after reading Brooklyn's story it makes perfect sense. I really wouldn't have realized it until the end so if you read this and figure it out before me *clapping hands*, good job!

I think this story is so much more than it appears on that cover. I was almost expecting this fun, sweet idyllic story after seeing the cover. Then I read the synopsis and expected a little healing and a fun, sweet idyllic read. Yes it was all of those things and much more. If you are expecting all lightheartedness, you won't get just that. There are plenty of fun moments and lightheartedness but there is a lot of reflection done on many different character's parts. Our main characters in the story are, Brooklyn, her daughter Alycia, Derek(the neighbor and previous acquaintance), Chad(the deceased husband) and Ruth(Derek's grandma). All of these characters are interconnected and their stories and past, present and future all interweave to create a story of healing, love, learning and understanding.

We start with Brooklyn returning home to her childhood town after learning her husband(estranged after only being married a few months) has died and left his family home/property to their 10 year old daughter.

Honestly there was a lot of contemplation between these characters and I really enjoyed seeing through their eyes. The hurts they felt, the thoughts and perceptions they had when they were younger as well as present day. I love stories where we watch characters learn and grow and especially when past perceptions are cleared up. I think I love them because they apply so well to our lives now...something I or a friend(or anybody else) perceive and believe could be so completely different and when we finally realize what we perceived wasn't quite what it was is very eye opening. And these characters certainly had a lot of eye opening going on.

Of course it is a love story so most of the focus was on the eye opening of Brooklyn and Derek. I thought the author did a great job with their relationship. For the most part there weren't those awkward games played but just honest and sincere moments. Yes they had to work out hurts and frustrations on their own and then come together and make conscious choices of being honest or continuing to heal and move forward.

There's a lot of past tension because of Brooklyn's upbringing, which really drives the storyline and emotions behind this read. But it was dealt with and written very well that I enjoyed it, even though it isn't necessarily a bright and happy topic. Alycia was a sweet character and did plenty to move the story along and cause some angst. Honestly I kept thinking some situations were going to happen, waiting for the dilemma to happen or a traumatic moment but what I was thinking and expecting didn't happen, although there are some moments that aren't as predictable as you would think, maybe happening when you would think, but not the situation you would expect.

Content: Squeaky Clean! This is a Christian fiction novel and does have several moments where the characters pray or are thinking about God and asking for His guidance. I enjoyed it, it didn't feel preachy or overwhelming but that it was the driving force behind the healing that was able to happen. Yes it was needed for this storyline. That might be very vague but I don't want to spoil anything. If you don't like reading books with the characters praying to God, this might not be the book for you. But if you don't mind it occasionally, I would recommend taking a chance on it. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole combination of the characters, of the emotions and storyline, and the religious aspects all woven together throughout.

I received a copy from the publisher, Thomas Nelson, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Growing up feeling unloved and betrayed because her mother leaves, her father disowns her and then her husband abandons her and their daughter, Brooklyn moves back to her hometown when her husband leaves them his family home. She reconnects with Derek, her husbands best friend and her neighbor. She struggles with learning how to trust again, including God but she wants her daughter to have a better life. A lovely story about coming home and learning you can trust and love again. I received this book from NetGalley for my honest review and all opinions are my own.

Derek Johnson get's a letter from his dying childhood friend, Chad Hallston, that changes his life forever. Chad leaves him the Hallston land that borders Dereks's, and asks him to be a father figure to his daughter Alycia. But Derek has always resented Brooklyn, Alycia's mother, for coming between his friendship with Chad.

Brooklyn Myers married Chad at seventeen, but he left when she found out that she was pregnant with Alycia. Her neighbor Ester, has been an angel in disguise these past years, and when Brooklyn get's the news that Chad has died and left his home to Alycia, Ester encourages her to go home and look at it as a blessing.

Alycia is a lovely child, friendly and respectful, she spends a lot of her time reading on her kindle. She accepts her mom's decision to move and tries to help make the transition easier, she bonds quickly with Derek and his animals.

Derek is surprised at how quickly he befriends Alycia, he is a hardworking man who does his best to do help Brooklyn and Alycia adjust to their new home. He sees the struggles that Brooklyn has overcome and begins to admire her strength and refusal to let her circumstances define her. He stands up for Brooklyn in front of her father, and makes a point of being there for her and Alycia.

I loved Ester and Ruth, who help bring Derek and Brooklyn together, they are both strong women of faith who serve as mentors and confidants, who do much encouraging along the way.

I really loved the interaction between Brooklyn and Derek, they are both two people burned by the past who don't believe that they deserve a happy ending. Derek really opens up and begins to pray about his disappointments and the way that he has reacted to them. A fantastic story about second chances and finding hope.

Brooklyn and her daughter Alycia’s have the chance to move back to Brooklyn’s hometown in Idaho.  Brooklyn’s estranged husband, Chad, has died and left them his family home.  He also asks neighbor Derek Johnson to become a father figure to Alycia.  It’s a heart-warming story, though we never really learn why Chad was estranged.  His story isn’t told.  It was enjoyable, though predictable.

This book for me was all about the pleasure of burying myself in a well written story, a fictional world with well defined and relatable characters and a realistic small town setting. I loved Robin Lee Hatcher writing style, she’s a good story teller that knows how to captivate the reader.
It’s a romantic story about a couple, but also a story about a place and a small community.
I especially liked how slowly the couple turned from friends to lovers and the fact that the hero didn’t like the heroine when they were younger. It takes a lot of subtlety to craft that evolution from resentment and bitterness to acceptance, respect and love.
I also liked that the hero is honorable and a good person but he’s not perfect. On the other hand, the portrait of the heroine, a single mom finally finding her own way after a hard life, sometimes bordering on poverty, is quite touching. And they’re both ordinary people (the hero is a deputy assistant and an organic farmer).
There’s a bunch of secondary characters such as Ruth Esther and the little girl, Alycia, that contribute to create a heartwarming story about a friendly small community.
Something that I also love in romance is the detailed description of the setting, in this case the town of Thunder Creek, in Idaho. It’s like getting to know new places without travelling (well, sort of…).
I really liked Hatcher’s skilled and fluid storytelling and I’ve read this story in one setting. I’m looking forward to her other books.

I really liked this book and the realistic approach that it took to some of the problems that the characters faced. I like Hatcher's writings and this is another book that supports reading more of her stories. I also liked that the Christianity didn't hit you over the head with it and just subtly reminded you of it being part of their lives.

Another great book written by this author. The story was how hard it is to trust when you had no one in your life that you can. Brooklyn Myers Mother had left her as a child and her Father never showed her any love growing up. He mistreated her all of her childhood. She runs away and marries Chad Hallston who left her a few months after they married when he found out she was pregnant with his child. Brooklyn raises her daughter Alycia by herself. She has one true friend Esther how is dying. She gets a letter from a lawyer that her husband Chad has died and left her and their daughter his parents old homestead. Derek Johnson had a agreement to buy this house and ground when he come up with the money. Derek also gets a letter from Chad telling him that he left the home to his wife and daughter and wanted Chad to be a Father figure for his daughter. The story is how Brooklyn became able to trust again and open her hard to love. It is a story of Chad being able to forget about his dream and opening up his heart as well.

The husband, who left Brooklyn when he found out she was pregnant, dies and leaves Brooklyn his parents house. brin a romance, of course a quick attraction to the neighbor occurs and love follows. The setting is nice, but the characters seem like they follow a stereotype of small town citizens. There is also some lack of believability in that abwoman who lives in low income housing earns her living as a waitress had the money to plan to add on to a house and do the structural changes desired to a house to turn it into a bed and breakfast. Still, this was enjoyable to read.
