I've only just discovered these YA book previews, and I love them! The blurb and excerpts are a great way for me to explore new books, plus they usually give me enough information to booktalk the book with my students, even if I haven't read the entire book. Thank you so much for putting these together!

// Netgalley provided me with a copy of this in exchange for an honest review //
If you're like me, and know that one of your favourite authors is releasing another book soon but you can never remember when OR you want a browse of some of the most anticipated YA novels about to hit the shelves? This book is a GODSEND.
Here's the best bit: at the end of each section (composed of a blurb/summary and then an extract from the novel), there is a link to where you can request the novel on NetGalley - no fuss.
Suuuuuuper helpful, thank you NetGalley & the Publisher (Publishers Lunch)

Once again, a great collection of samples of upcoming YA releases! There were a lot of books I hadn't heard of before, but are now on my radar. Can't wait for some of these books!

This is a great reference! It gives enough of a sample of the books to truly get an understanding of what they're about and I appreciate the publishing information at the end

These books are so wonderful and I can't wait the chance to read these amazing books.

Many thanks for the book! I hope to review most of the titles listed here during the year.

This edition of Buzz Books gives samples of 18 upcoming spring/fall release YA books. Each sample contains a picture of the cover and a brief summary of the book. The sampling includes both established authors and debut. It would be nice if the samples were arranged more by genre, making it easier to dive right into your specific book interest. However, there are only 18 samples so it is not difficult to navigate to find titles that appeal to you. I highly recommend the Buzz Books 2017 YA edition, It's always fun to get a sneak peek at what is on the horizon.

Buzz Books 2017: Young Adult Spring/Summer by Publishers Lunch; release date January 13, 2017; Published by Publishers Lunch; ISBN 9780997774412
Always a great resource for upcoming releases, Buzz Books 2017: Young Adult Spring/Summer highlights a number of books for the middle school to teen and young adult set being released between March and July of this year.
Not that I needed to add any more titles to my already unmanageable to-read list, but if you are looking for something new to read, here's a list of some notable standouts:
Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh; release date May 2, 2017; published by G.P. Putnam's Sons; ISBN 9780399171635
The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr; release date May 16, 2017; published by Philomel Books; ISBN 9780399547010
Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau; release date June 6, 2017; published by HarperTeen; ISBN 9780062453846
The Legend of Skyco: Spirit Quest by Jennifer Frick-Rupert; release date April 4, 2017; published by Amberjack Publishing; ISBN 9781944995119
How to be a Supervillain by Michael Fry; release date May 2, 2017; published by Jimmy Patterson Books; ISBN 9780316318693
Thank you to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch for providing a digital copy in return for an honest and unbiased review.

Very helpful for reviewers like myself to get a good idea of what's coming out in the next few months!

Showing off some of the amazing YA books that are coming out this spring and summer (American seasons) we have sequels by favourite authors, and debut novels in the genre. In this new electronic age it's harder to discover new authors or try books you're not sure of (our local bookstores keep closing!) and so I usually only find books by word of month. Collections like these make it easy to tally on book preorders once again.

Amazing to see the upcoming titles, as usual. A lot were added to my wishlist and I'm looking forward to them!

Interesting selection. Will request my favourites and review whole texts. Thanks

Fantastic selection of previews here ranging from Renee Ahdieh's latest historical YA, FLAME IN THE MIST, set during the era of feudal Japanese samauri, to a brilliant contemporary memoir THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING by humorist Erin Chack. What a great way to dip into a variety of upcoming YA titles.

This is great, this was the first time I grabbed one of these books and I will be grabbing more. Has so many excerpts and has made me very excited about upcoming releases. This is great way to stay informed and find out what is going to come up next. Love this!

I'm excited for a lot of these! Great previews. I will definitely add these to my TBR list!

This has made me very excited for the books coming out in 2017....Looking forward to the majority of them especially Flame in the Mist and Laugh Out Loud!

I always enjoy the chance to read a Buzz Books book as it allows me to read excerpts of many books being published in the coming months, helping me to decide which ones I want to put on my reading list. As expected, this book of excerpts showed me several books that I'd like to read.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch for enabling me to read this edition of Buzz Books!

The Buzz Books 2017: Young Adult Spring/Summer was a great sampling of many books that are anticipated for release in the coming months. Each excerpt is approximately a chapter, with some being much longer. In particular, the excerpts I enjoyed the most included Roar by Cora Carmack, Spirit Quest by Jennifer Frick-Ruppert, Geekerella by Ashley Poston, The End of our Story by Meg Haston, and Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh.
Renee Ahdieh is one of my favorite writers thanks to her duology The Wrath and the Dawn, so naturally I was incredibly excited to see her new book excerpt as the FIRST excerpt in the book. The Flame in the Mist is set in Japan and opens with a back story involving samurai, followed by a first chapter that highlights a journey of a young woman on her way to an arranged marriage. The setting is detailed, dark and atmospheric. I cannot wait to read the rest of it!
The second big winner for me is Roar by Cora Carmack. I have never read any of her numerous previous works, however I have heard her name several times before. I did not know what to expect, and far as I'm aware, this is her first fantasy genre book. Aside from the cover being absolutely stunning, the story itself engages you right away. We get a taste of the heaviness of Aurora's character, the crossroads that she is standing upon, the weight of her family duty, and the uniquely interesting world of magic and storms that threatens the lives of her people. If for only this sample, the whole Buzz Books 2017 was worth reading. I look forward to picking up several of these books this year!
