I did not finish this book. While I appreciate the offer to have the novel., I have stopped reading any romance novels that stray more into erotica.

I thought the premise of this story was interesting. Even though the relationship developed as the book went on, I didn't think there was enough of a connection between the two main characters come the end.

I really enjoyed this book! I've read many books by Renee Rose so I'm aware of the erotica, bdsm, and spankings involved in most of her books and this one doesn't disappoint. This is the start of a science fiction series that is set in outerspace and looks to be after the Earth has been destroyed.

The Zandians are alien race whose women are no longer giving birth because they have mostly destroyed by another alien enemy (the Finn) killed most of the Zandians to take over their planet which is rich in the resources of this light-emitting crystal. A few hundred Zandians have survived including the youngest, their ruling prince, Zander. Most of the women that have survived are too old to have babies. Daneth, the Zandian doctor, has found the perfect DNA match to Prince Zandar to start procreating and repopulating his people, but she is a lowly human slave named Lamira. Lamira is not just any human, but she has abilities that if it became public she would be put to death by the Ocretions, the alien race who owns her and also who happens to be the same race that has offered Zandians sanctuary on their planet.

The reason why I didn't give this book 5 stars is because I was just slightly put off by the way Zandar treated Lamira. If I could I would give it an additional 1/2 star to 4.5 stars because for the most part I could excuse this behavior because he is unfamiliar with humans.

I very much enjoyed this book, especially how Ms. Rose has started her world-building which makes me excited to continue on reading the rest of the series. I like her creativity and how she has already laid the groundwork for the rest of the series. Unfortunately it seems to me it would be a little hard to read any of these books as a standalone since there is an overall arc of the story of the struggle of the Zandians to try to reclaim their world back. I would suggest that any reader interested in this book start from Book 1 and then move forward through the series.

REVIEW: After a long time of no reading any Sci Fi/Alien Romance I decided to introduce myself to the sub-genre with this series. I am so glad I did. His Human Slave is the first book I read by Renee Rose and it certainly will not be the last.
His Human Slave is the story of Zander a warrior prince whose world was invaded and taken by hostile power. Zander’s people are slowly dying, in order to maintain his race alive he must breed even if it means mixing with other race. A virus spread through his race making their females infertile and while they try to find the cure Zander must make sure his species stays alive. Zander wasn’t looking for love, he was looking for a viable female to breed, his desires and needs would have to be put aside for the greater good and when he set himself to find a woman for breeding he never thought he would see himself owning a human slave.
As the story develops we get to know more and more of Zander’s nature and his people. While they have forbade owning slave, Zander found himself enjoying his ownership over Lamira.
Lamira is a human slave, working the land as an agriculturist, she doesn’t know that her destiny will change the moment she was chosen to be Zander’s slave. After finding herself in a position she couldn’t figure out how to get out of, Lamira accepts her destiny as Zander’s slave while trying to hide who she is. As these two are forced into matin, their relationship changes from slave to simply submissive & dominant, they enjoy each other’s company but while Lamira’s heart starts to open up to Zander a lot of misunderstanding threatens their new found love.
I enjoyed this story, the author did a great job bringing us a set of characters that fit perfectly together. While the story didn’t hold a lot of angst, the overall story was sweet and quite sexy. Lamira’s past as the daughter of the leader of the rebellion puts a target over her heard, but she judges that anyone who has that information can put her and her mother in great danger. Regardless of how these two character’s story moves forward, secrets put at risk what slowly had been growing between then.
The story is nicely detailed and well written, the a author does a great job describing and showing us these characters feelings and emotions. Their romance while new, is steamy and quite hot. Zander is sexy, big and flat out an alpha, while Lamira isn’t necessarily a submissive by nature, she finds herself needing Zander in ways she can’t deny and find a way into his heart.
If you are looking for a story that has a good plot, nice character development and hot and steamy sex then look no further, His Human Slave has it all.

The title says it all: Earth girl is chosen as the perfect mate for the leader of an almost annihilated race. He expects complete obedience, she’s not built for that, so they clash while he teaches her to enjoy the sex and the punishments.
I enjoyed the anthropological aspects of an alien learning to deal with a human female, and having even worse luck than human males. There’s a few instances where I chuckled, “Dude. . .” The shower scene was both erotic and hilarious.
I’ve reviewed enough master/slave stuff to be bored by it, so I concentrate on the story and the characters, both of which are excellent here. Especially pleasing to find an author who knows her craft so well; I can definitely see why Zander fell in love with Lamira.

Renee Rose really knows how to write a super-hot book and "His Human Slave" is no exception. Lamira becomes Zander's slave to help him repopulate his people. A reader may worry that Zander is too hard on her or that this book is to graphic, it is hot, but it is sweet as well. Zander begins caring about Lamira pretty quickly and of course, Lamira cares about him. Lots of hotness to melt your Kindle!

I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. It draws you in and keeps you intrigued at every single turn. The story line is just genius. It screams erotic and the wording is straight to the point. I have to say I really could not put the book down so much so that I managed to complete reading this book in a day and a bit. The mother-daughter connection made it even more intriguing as I have a close bond with my mother. I also have a sister so it kind of resembled my family which was awesome.

The detail in the storyline was great. It was easy to envision it playing out in my mind. The descriptions of characters etc made it more possible to imagine what is exactly happening in the novel.

Zander is from Zandian and is the prince of a planet-less race. He is working hard to prepare for war to reclaim their home planet. Lamira is a human, daughter of a famous soldier. Her mother was captured when she was pregnant with Lamira and has hidden their true identities with the Ocretions. She has a gift that would cause her and her mothers death if revealed. Zanders people wish to have him breed before he goes off to war to insure the continuation of his race. His physician has found Lamira to be the most compatible to breed. Zander is less than thrilled since humans are looked upon as the lowest of race. He sees them as weak and prone to deception. This has spanking, restraints, caging and an Alpha male.

I am a fan of Renee Rose's work so I hate to admit that I was not a complete fan of Zander. Lamira IS a slave, but he accused her of lying too many times and punished her for things she didn't do. He does come to see the error of his ways. Despite that, I do enjoy this author's writing and this ends as if there is more to the story involving Lamira's sister which I would very much like to read. ARC provided by NetGalley.

An absolutely great book and I couldn't put it down. I managed to read it all in one sitting and am eager for the next installment in the series.
