I'm telling you, I keep wondering if or when Samantha Chase might not top herself, or her her next book might not be as fantastic, and each time I'm proven totally and completely wrong!

Owen and Brooke are complete oppostites in every single way. Talk about magnets though. ;) Their major differences are eventually what really bring the two of them together, and made this book an absolute blast to read!

I found myself laughing, crying, and completely connected to this book from start to finish. Sigh. I wanted to jump right into the book and their world to be a part of this amazing family.

I am officially an addict, Samantha. Love everything you do and am a forever fan!

I’m a lover of romance from the sweet reads to the raunchy, and Samantha Chase does sweet like no other. Never once have I missed a sex scene in one of her books because they are so full and rich that I’m satisfied just knowing they are satisfied. A Sky Full of Stars was an emotional read, because both the hero and heroine have both lost someone in their lives and while the losses were very different they both still felt the loss greatly even after many years. Poignant but with a sense of wonder and light that comes from new love, A Sky Full of Stars is my favorite book in this series so far.

Owen Shaughnessey has loved the stars since he was a young child and he is a leading astrophysicist, but in his eyes he still sees the shy, awkward, geeky boy who was tormented by his peers even with his four brothers and his younger sister stepping in to protect him. So when his mentor and colleague introduces him to his beautiful niece and suggest she be his assistant on an upcoming science trip to the desert, Owen is confused and ruffled; never has anyone affected him like the beautiful Brooke Matthews and knows someone who looks like her would never want someone like him.

While on paper these two seem complete opposites him being a professor of science and shy and her being an outgoing artist who was once a cheerleader and pageant queen, they connect on a deeper level and Brooke begins to realize that while shy; Owen is charming, fun, and a good man and knows he would never want someone like her. I loved that both these characters were concerned they weren’t good enough for one another and that with each moment they spent together they revealed more and more of the person they were beneath their exterior. Brooke felt compelled to learn more about Owen’s work and she worked hard to understand why it was so important to him. She claimed he challenged her to be smarter, but in reality she was always smart she just didn’t have anyone other than her Uncle who believed she was more than her good looks. I love that Brooke helped Owen take more risks, enjoy like outside his carefully planned box, and prove to himself, his family, and the world that under that shy man there was more to him.

Every minute of this book was special even the times they were both filled with self doubt because they learned to accept who they were and branch out from their normal. Both characters showed great growth during this book which always makes me happy. I especially loved the scenes with the entire Shaughnessey family mainly because they all began to realize that their shy, geeky brother was so much more and while they had always loved and protected him and felt he was perfect just the way he was, they also saw that by putting him in that box, they had done him a disservice.

A Sky Full of Stars was a perfect contemporary romance filled with laughter, turmoil, and a whole lot of love. Samantha Chase—you done good girl!!

“You have the ability to see into the sky and talk to the stars,” she said softly. “They twinkle just for you, you know.”

A Sky Full of Stars by Samantha Chase pulled at my heartstrings and made them sing! I’ve enjoyed every installment I’ve read so far in Samantha’s Shaughnessy Brothers series and positively loved this story. It’s actually hands-down my favorite in the series to-date as I’m a sucker for strong, caring, nerdy guy heroes. The heroine was awesomely written too. I connected with and liked them both from the get-go and catching up with previous favorite characters was a big plus too! This is the story of Dr. Owen Shaughnessy and Brooke Matthews.

The book opens with a prologue which drew me in right away with a moving flashback to Owen’s childhood. Readers are then fast forwarded to present day where our brainiac astrophysicist is giving a lecture when a beautiful flower-child arrives to his class late. Afterwards, Owen’s mentor and friend at the college introduces Owen to Brooke, his artist niece – the same girl. He highly recommends that Owen consider hiring Brooke to accompany and assist Owen with his upcoming Red Rock, Nevada project – focused on teaching people about meteors. Owen, though, is a loner and not comfortable around people. After giving the offer his due consideration, Owen decides not to take Brooke’s proposal… and thinks the discussion is done. But, fate has other plans…

I loved Owen and Brooke together. They each brought out the best in the other. I had many treasured scenes, but my top one has to be when the two took off on a spur of a moment adventure surprising themselves and their families.

While A Sky Full of Stars is the fifth installment in Samantha’s Shaughnessy Brothers series, it still works perfectly well as a stand alone, if that is your preference. I’ve actually read this series out-of-order and had absolutely no issues doing so.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from A Sky Full of Stars:

“You’re not alone, Owen, It’s not just you. And you know what? It’s not a bad thing to be a little bit nervous around a woman.” He paused. “I think the difference…when it’s the right woman, those nerves make you want to be a better person, a better man.”
---

She watched him for a moment – noticed how he was staring at the steering wheel and how he seemed to be thinking about something but she had no idea what.
Turning in her seat, she faced him. “Owen –“
“I’d like to kiss you,” he blurted out.
Her eyes went wide, and her heart beat madly in her chest. “You…you would?”
---

He looked down and saw a piece of chocolate being offered to him. Brooke’s delicate hand was mere inches from his mouth. Was he supposed to take it from her hand with his or simply… bite it?
He opted for biting, and as he took the sweet chocolate into his mouth, his lips grazed her fingers, and he heard her gasp softly beside him.
But not in a bad way.
His heart rate kicked up, and as he slowly finished chewing, he reached up, took her hand, and brought her fingers close to his lips. He swallowed and then kissed her fingertips – licking the spot where there was still a little chocolate – and heard Brooke moan.
Sexiest sound ever.

I don’t know why it took me so long to start reading this installment, but I’m so glad I did. I laughed and cried and have not been able to stop thinking about the story since I finished it. I even delightfully learned a few things about stars, meteors and our sky! The ending was lovely and wholly satisfying. I highly recommend A Sky Full of Stars to anyone who enjoys well-written, heart-touching, heart-wrenching- in- a- good- way contemporary romances.

This is the fifth book in the series and this one is about Owen Shaughnessy an astrophysicist, he is introduced to an artist named Brooke Mathews she is the niece of his mentor and the day of introduction Owen is tongue tied he cannot believe her beauty. Brooke an artist shows him some of her work of nighttime sky with stars and asks if she could go with him on his class to Red Rock Canyon in Nevada to observe the meteor shower and to work as his organizer to free up his time. He is upset with this idea like he needs help and feels like she would be a distraction. Even more, he is thinking about canceling the whole thing altogether. After talking to his mentor he realizes that he can’t even tell Brooke his answer and wants her uncle to do it. When he thinks that, that would be a bad idea this puts the two of them closer together to the point that she ends up going home with him. This is the first time that you see a side of Owen that you have not seen in any of the other books and when he gets into an argument with his twin he leaves the home with Brooke. He, of course, decides to take Brooke camping out in Red Rock before the class since she had never camped, and when they get back there is a problem with her uncle. You find out a lot about Brooke in this book and for the most part, you find out more about Owen as well. Especially when he decides to get a tattoo. They, of course, break up and do get back together that is always the beauty of these books along with the advice from their father. What I liked is the different twist with the ending that made this a unique story just for Owen. I really liked this one and not just because of the desert though it is great at night to see the stars. This was a very good book. I got this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. I have read all the books in this series and they are all great. This book is about Owen and Brooke. Owen is super smart and kind of awkward. Brooke is his total opposite.

I really enjoyed this book because of Owen and Brooke’s differences. They both feel at times that the other one is not attracted to them because of how different they are.

This is dual POV that is sweet and funny. You also get a good dose of well meaning meddling family.

I received a free copy for an honest review

A Sky Full of Stars was...a wonderful read. I love all the Shaughnessy books, but Owen? Oh, Owen. He is one of my favorites. I loved this story. So fun and cute and hot and everything wrapped into one.

Owen and Brooke are perfect for each other even if they might not seem that way on the surface. They both have insecurities, both have some issues to overcome, but oh they were so amazing! I loved them!

Owen has never fit in. He had a hard time when his mother died as she always told him it was okay to be different. It was okay to be in his head and be super smart and not be the best with human interactions. Especially interactions with non-family members. He is super close with his twin Riley, he always stood up for Owen and is always there for him when he needs him. Owen can be a bit closed off and he doesn't always seem himself the way others do. He is just a nerd that is too smart and boring for other people. He has dated before, but it has never worked out. There just wasn't any spark or anything. When Owen first sees Brooke he is amazed. She is beautiful and fun and sweet and everything. There is no way someone like her would ever like someone like him.

Brooke has her own issues. She doesn't think she is very smart since her family always told her that. She was beautiful and that was it. Her mom put her in pageants and such, but never encouraged anything else but beauty. She used to be a mean girl, used to be terrible to her smart, nerdy brother and people like him. She has grown up and changed, but she still hasn't forgiven herself for who she used to be. When she meets Owen she is intrigued. She likes him, especially after getting to know him, but there is no way someone like him would ever like someone like her.

Brooke originally meets Owen when her uncle sets her up as a potential assistant on a field study trip and oh these two. I loved them so much. I loved watching them both struggle with their crush thinking the other would never like them. They were so sweet and I loved them both so much. Owen...I loved him! I love that social awkward super smart guy. He was awesome. I read this book with the biggest smile on my face. It was awesome.

These two really bring out the best in the other. They are there for each other and I loved watching them figure everything out. Sure there are a few bumps in the road, but nothing is every perfect all the time. I loved this story. I loved Owen and Brooke. I love all the Shaughnessy's, but Owen just might be my favorite.

A Sky Full Of Stars is an amazing story. i love the characters and their personalities. The way they make these small changes. I have so much in common with both of Owen and Brooke. This book is emotional and wonderfully well written and i highly recommend it.

This book was perfect!!  It had the perfect combination of romance and friction.  Owen does not see himself as a lady man.  He is an astrophysicist and has loved the sky since he was a kid.  Brooke is the complete opposite of Owen.  She is creative and outgoing.  Brooke brings Owen out of his shyness.

I need to go back and read the other books in this series.

When an introverted but brilliant scientist meets a free spirited former mean girl, can the vastness and beauty of the stars find a way to keep them together?

When Owen meets Brooke, she took his breath away but he was a little abrupt with the introductions. A sudden flashback of his younger self meeting beautiful women was a painful wake up call that he really can't be trusted around them. Brooke was fascinated with Owen, he was smart and appears quite shy. But his distrust of her has awakened some guilty feelings from her past. When an opportunity to work together was offered, Brooke was definitely happy about it, not so much Owen. In fact he dislikes the idea,Brooke is a distraction, one that he hasn't encountered before and it appears was not as unwelcome as he might think.

As these two travail their developing relationship, a lot of getting to know one another, falling for each other, discovering that happily ever after doesn't happen right away, that life lessons learned in the past are ways to get to the future and that love and the stars changes and are constant at the same time. Brooke and Owen will leave readers with that feeling that love is hard work but the rewards are endless.

A Sky Full of Stars will make you cry, laugh, smile, marvel at that wondrous emotion called love, not just romantic love but also the familial kind. It also has one of the most poignant prologue that I've read so far. This could be a long time favorite for hard core romance readers. A definite must read!

I've adored the books in the Shaughnessy Brothers series I've read to date. I have to admit I always wanted Owen's book though. There is just something about the quiet super intelligent guy that speaks to my heart.

I love an opposites attract romance, and Owen and Brooke totally fit that description to a tee. Owen is the super studious professor and Brooke is the free spirited artist. Somehow, they each got each other so quickly I had to believe they almost had love at first sight. Seriously I loved that Brooke brought out the fun side of Owen that he didn't show more than his family and Owen made Brooke see the world in a way she never had before.

I loved the chemistry between Owen and Brooke. It was pretty obvious from the moment they met they both wanted each other. There was both a sweetness and a sexiness to their lovemaking and I fell in love with them as a couple right along with them falling in love with each other.

I really liked how protective Owen was of Brooke. I pretty much cheered when he gave his family hell for not welcoming Brooke the way he had expected. It was sweet to see the quiet guy become the big Alpha male when it came to the woman he loved.

Samantha Chase once again gives her readers a wonderful sweet and sexy romance with A Sky Full of Stars. While I found Ms. Chase's books after many books had been released, I have enjoyed going back and reading her back list to play catch up. I highly recommend A Sky Full of Stars and the rest of the books in the Shaughnessy Brothers series.

Owen is a rare mixture of intelligence and shyness, and although he lacks self-confidence when it comes to social interactions – especially with beautiful women – he has a certain strength about him that will make women swoon. He’s absolutely adorable in a very masculine kind of way, and I couldn’t love him more.

Brooke used to be the mean, popular girl in school, but she’s nothing like that now. Readers don’t get a first-hand glimpse of her past life – it’s mentioned -so there’s no hard work involved in liking her. She’s genuinely nice, sweet, and talented. She, too, sees in Owen what he continues to overlook, and the heat that simmered beneath their vulnerable surfaces added a lot of spice to their union, despite the low heat level of the book. Now, that’s some talented writing – but this is Chase, so I’m not surprised.

I've loved the Shaughnessy’s since the first book, and my affection grows with each addition to the series. I love the way each story begins with a story about the hero/heroine and a memory with their deceased mother, who’s already passed at the start of the first book, but who has a big presence, nonetheless. Owen is a twin, and he’s a lot more tame than his brother, but they’re both very honorable. All of the Shaughnessy’s are. The way Brooke and Owen took care of each other, and they way they just naturally fit despite their differences had my heart fluttering, my eyes watering, and my attention hooked. Owen is science, where Brooke is art, but they supported and took a genuine interest in each other and their professions. They are both very forgiving, mild-mannered, and honest. I rooted for them the whole way.

This is pure magic!

I've been really looking forward to Owen's book. He's always been the distant Shaugnessy Brother. I absolutely LOVED Brooke for him! Former mean girl and the "science nerd". Very emotional book. I have to say though that the brothers kinda ticked me off when they met her... grr.

I'm going to enjoy Darcy's book!! And I really want their father to have book or a novella!

I absolutely LOVE The Shaughnessy Brother's and Owen is by far my favourite Brother!!! Owen is a shy silent intelligent geeky scientist who falls so Hard for Brooke an artist who seems a little lost and trying to escape the pressure of her parent's. They may seem like an odd couple - the beauty pageant queen and the geeky science quy, but Samantha Chase just proves that it's what's underneath that makes it count and boy does Owen make it count!! This story pulled at my heartstrings big time, i was crying one minute and laughing the next its a read that's just what the doctor ordered, opposites definitely attrack when it comes to Owen and Brooke. Reading how he navigated this new territory was an absolute pleasure for me and i honestly couldn't put it down, the interaction between himself and his brothers as they tried to help and guide him was eye-opening, just like the way he bonded with his Dad. It was sooo good to see what made Owen tick in this beautiful emotional story.
I am on pins and needles to see what this talented Author Samantha Chase is going to bring us for the only Shaughnessy Girl- Darcy becuse for me you can't top Owen and Brooke's story!!

The romance that develops between Brooke and Owen will have you laughing and in tears. We are all superheroes in life. I recommend this story to everyone that enjoys reading about love, family and inspiration. Enjoy!

Grab your tissue and get ready, right from the very beginning this book was tugging at my heart strings. I was pleasantly surprised to find Owen is actually pretty romantic and smooth. I think he just needed the right women to bring it out in him. Brooke maybe just the match for him. She is actually a bit more forward or maybe confident is a better word and that seems to bring out the best in Owen. Even with all their differences, Owen being a "nerdy" scientist and Brooke being a beautiful artist, They hit it off right from the start and become fast friends. The only thing is will Owen be able to get past his social awkwardness and his own insecurities to make a relationship with Brooke work? Although this story made me cry, it definitely made my heart happy and full of joy. As always I loved seeing glimpses of the other Shaughnessy's I have come to love. Oh and towards the end there is an amazing little surprise, I obviously loved the surprise and everything about this whole book!!

A Sky Full of Stars is a heartwarming story one man’s courage to believe in himself and the woman who has faith in him and their relationship. Once again, Samantha Chase has written a novel which has exceeded my expectations.

Samantha Chase’s flawless descriptive writing style draws the reader into Owen and Brooke’s story. In the first chapter of the novel, Dr. Owen Shaughnessy notices that an attractive woman has walked into his lecture about meteor showers. Owen is surprised when the woman approaches him and apologizes for being late to his class. She explains that her uncle, Howard Shields, suggested that she attend the lecture. Dr. Shields enters the lecture hall and introduces Owen to his niece; artist Brooke Matthews. Ms. Chase cleverly provides the connection between Owen’s scientific interest in the meteor showers and Brooke’s desire to view the stars through an artistic lens. The author also uses this scene to give insight into the intelligent, shy character of Owen Shaughnessy and compares it with Brooke’s open, easy going personality.

Samantha Chase continues to explore how the death of Lillian Shaughnessy has affected each member of her family. Lillian understands that Owen is extremely intelligent and supports his desire to learn about science. My favorite scenes in the book were when Owen remembered that his Mom encouraged him to reach for the stars and be the best person he could be. Owen associated the stars with his mother’s love.

Ms. Chase creates one of a kind characters that appeal to me. The attraction between Brooke and Owen was apparent during their first conversation. Samantha Chase includes a superhero thread throughout the novel from Owen and Riley’s childhood which emphasizes the twins’ perceived roles in their family. Owen was Clark Kent to Riley’s Superman. Brooke’s faith in Owen and a superbly written heart-to heart conversation with his father enabled Owen to reconcile his feelings. Brooke’s uncle, Owen’s sister Darcy and Riley play pivotal roles throughout the novel. Readers of the Shaughnessy series will adore the cleverly written surprises are included in the last few chapters of the book.
