Each book in this series starts with a prologue with the Shaughnessy Brothers dealing with their mother's death when they were kids. In A Sky Full of Stars, we see a beautiful scene with six-year-old Owen and his mum that had me tearing up.

I've been looking forward to reading Owen's story since the very first time we met him. Highly intelligent and a successful astrophysicist, Owen is shy, socially awkward, and a bit geeky. He believes that he is different from others, even though his family tell him otherwise.

Brooke is the niece of Owen's good friend and mentor, Howard. Brooke is an artist who paints the sky and is hoping Owen will hire her to help him on an upcoming project so she can have a chance to paint in the desert. Brooke is beautiful, open minded, and full of love and life.

Brooke and Owen's romance is sweet and beautiful. Their differences are what makes them a perfect match. They bring out the good in each other and I loved their honesty. It was wonderful seeing Owen come out of his shell and even stand up to his family, who don't make a good first impression when they meet Brooke.

A Sky Full of Stars is a heartwarming story and I adored it. Owen's book was worth waiting for. I'm glad to see that the Shaughnessy sister, Darcy, will be getting her own book. I look forward to reading Holiday Spice later this year.

Fun book. We meet the nerdy Shaughnessy brother in this book, and the other family members also appear, so you do get to catch up with them. Nice storyline about Owen who doesn't fit in, even in science circles. He then meets Brooke, who does fit in.. until you find out she has the similar problems. Love that the brother all talk to each other, very enjoyable romance. Add Samantha Chase to your list of authors to read.

owen is our totally social awkward hero. but he's such a sweetheart. he overthinks everything, but he also has the most giving heart. so in a sky full of stars, when he meets brooke matthews and is thrown for a loop he has no idea what to do. his instincts are telling him to run away. but there is a pull and connection between them that he can't ignore.

and then they go on the most epic of dates. a random encounter at a diner turns into a week of being together. and even though there are some communication issues, and family issues, and misunderstandings between them, you never doubt that these two crazy kids belong together. it makes sense that the smartest and quietest of the shaughnessy brothers would end up falling head over heels and settle down with the girl of his dreams in an instant. (not that i've read the other books in this series, but you get a sense of the brothers from this one, and even so it totally stands on its own.)

Ms. Chase has a talent for writing stories that touch the heart. I have personally become more deeply engaged with the family with the release of each new story. As I read the book I feel that its the best yet plumbing emotional depths that I didn't know I could bring to engage in a fictional love story.

While each of the Shaughnessy siblings have made a place in my heart, shy awkward, brilliant Owen has his own special spot. Their mother has such a deep impact on each one of the siblings and I love how the author makes that the core of what shaped each of them and how its as freeing for them when they find their HEA as it's been painful for them until then.

Brooke in contrast is a total opposite to Owen. Outgoing friendly confident, she can hold a conversation with anyone. I love how they embark on an exploration of the city through what they each enjoy giving them each a deeper insight into the other. Ms. Chase makes sure to take us back to North Carolina to catch up with the rest of the family and its great to see babies making their appearance as the family slowly but surely deals with the place their mom holds in their lives.

I look forward to the next book in the series.

Owen is my favorite brother. He is fully aware of his crazy and how it makes him different from every one else. His twin finally tells him to man up and own his freak. Owen has been drifting without an anchor for the last few years. He travels to different Universities giving lectures and guest teaching a semester at a time. He considers his father's home a base of sorts but hasn't lived there in awhile.

Brooke is an amazing artist struggling to make a name for herself and turn her passion into a career. Her parents raised her to be a beauty queen but Brooke has finally broken free and moved in with her uncle several states away. She is still recovering from the loss of her brother but is working everyday to prevent what happened to him from hurting anyone else.

Owen and Brooke seem to be two halves of an intricate puzzle. How the pieces fit will take time and patience to get right. Family and friends will help them find balance between rushing into a relationship and overthinking their connection. It will take a bit of meddling to help them along, as every good love story should.

FYI - remember Samantha Chase is pretty PG. This might go PG-13 once.

4.5 Stars
One of my favorite character types in romance is the shy, awkward, nerdy type. Whether it be the hero or the heroine, there's just something about those types of characters that I really love. Owen Shaughnessy is that guy. Even amongst a sea of astronomy students and peers he's alway felt like the odd man out.

Brooke is used-to-be-in-beauty-pageants beautiful, she's smart, outgoing and passionate about art and the stars. When her uncle encourages her to introduce herself to his colleague, Owen, and try to convince him to let her go on a trip to observe a meteor shower, she never expected to fall for the awkward genius, but there's simply no denying their connection.

I adore the opposites attract trope, especially when you see that Owen and Brooke aren't really all that different when it comes down to the important stuff. Unfortunately, everyone has their insecurities and doubts and sometimes those insecurities overshadow the obvious love two people share. When even some of your own family members doubt the possibility the two of you could really work things get shaky.

I loved watching as Owen opened up to Brooke and how she helped bring out the confident, strong man he always was but didn't always project outwardly. They are the true epitome of a couple that brings out the best in each other. The rest of the Shaughnessy brothers, particularly Riley, really upset me this time around. I understand their shock after their first initial introductions to Brooke but Riley took things a step further and was pretty awful to Owen. I loved seeing Owen stand up for himself and for Brooke though!!

I've completely enjoyed this series so far but I've really been looking forward to Darcy's story, which is up next!! I can't wait.

This is the fifth book in the series and this one is about Owen Shaughnessy an astrophysicist, he is introduced to an artist named Brooke Mathews she is the niece of his mentor and the day of introduction Owen is tongue tied he cannot believe her beauty. Brooke an artist shows him some of her work of night time sky with stars and asks if she could go with him on his class to Red Rock canyon in Nevada to observe the meteor shower and to work as his organizer to free up his time. He is upset with this idea like he needs help and feels like she would be a distraction. Even more he is thinking about cancelling the whole thing all together. After talking to his mentor he realizes that he can’t even tell Brooke his answer and wants her uncle to do it. When he thinks that, that would be a bad idea this puts the two of them closer together to the point that she ends up going home with him. This is the first time that you see a side of Owen that you have not seen in any of the other books and when he gets into an argument with his twin he leaves the home with Brooke. He of course decides to take Brooke camping out in Red Rock before the class since she had never camped, and when they get back there is a problem with her uncle. You find out a lot about Brooke in this book and for the most part you find out more about Owen as well. Especially when he decides to get a tattoo. They of course break up and do get back together that is always the beauty of these books along with the advice from their father. What I liked is the different twist with the ending that made this a unique story just for Owen. I really liked this one and not just because of the desert though it is great at night to see the stars. This was a very good book.

OMG! This. Book. Is. Amazing! I knew Owen's story would be my favorite of the series but it surpassed my wildest imaginings. Brooke is the perfect woman for Owen but she is just as imperfect as he is. This story is full of pure emotion that anyone will be able to relate to but at its heart it's the story of believing in yourself enough to find happiness. A must read!!!

Nerdy, brilliant, sexy and frankly, clueless guys do it for me! I love the inevitable absentmindedness, the quizzical looks (behind wire-rimmed or black "Buddy Holly" glasses, of course) when a social cue is misunderstood. I embrace the geek speak, whether about movies, tv shows, books or their chosen field of study/work...even when I totally have no idea what they are talking about.
But mostly, I love their huge hearts and their little boy feelings inside their (usually, and luckily) sexy body. And that's what I got...in spades...with Owen Shaughnessy, the brother I have been waiting for! From page one, my heart was fully engaged by this sweet, broken-hearted little boy, who's infatuation with the stars went from a love he shared with his mom, to a career that both isolated him from his peers but helped him find is true love.
Brooke may seem like an unlikely match for this introverted astrophysicist, with her "gypsy" like appearance and artistic soul. But not even Owen's twin, Riley, with their "twin telepathy", can understand the passion simmering under his surface. Like no one has since his mom, Brooke speaks to Owen's heart.
I cried my way through this book. Sometimes just a tear from one eye, but many times my breath would catch on a sob and the waterworks would flow more freely. While 99% of the romances I read invoke smiles and laughter, sighs and maybe a tear or two, very few leave a lasting, life-altering impression. But that other 1%, the ones that stay with you, even after reading 10, 15, 20 more books after it...this is what A Sky Full of Stars is for me. It is that rare gem that I want to...and will...read again, and again and again. Owen is the hero I'll remember and recommend to others. He's the name I won't forget, the one that will make me smile. And he's the one I'll think of every time I see a shooting star, a meteor shower, or a cute guy in glasses. Owen Shaughnessy is imprinted on my heart. Thank you, Samantha Chase!

I knew that Owen's book was going to be special and I think it's my favorite by far of all the books. They just keep getting better and better with each one!

Owen Shaughnessy has always been the odd man out in the family. Not that they didn't love him, or he wasn't apart of the gang, he's just always been the socially awkward and brainiac of the family. And being the twin of the Rockstar - Riley... he's always been the Clark Kent to his Superman.

Then Owen meets Brooke Mathews and his world is rocked to the core. She's his total opposite - Outgoing, artistic and able to take life by the horns and make everything sunny. But Brooke has her own fears and demons. As the two become close, Brooke helps Owen step out of his introverted shell and whether he knows it or not, Owen helps Brooke too. But Owen's old insecurities rear it's ugly head up and he doesn't know which way to take this "relationship".

I was pulled in with Owen and Brooke. Yes they were total opposites but their chemistry just made you smile anytime they were together. Owen broke my heart... his love for his mother and the memories he held on to. Brooke was refreshing and lovable from the start and the perfect match for Owen. I adored the book hard.

Absolutely Fantastic! This story is my favorite Shaughnessy story. Samantha Chase truly rocked this book. I highly recommend reading this book.

If it's one thing I have learned since hopping on the Samantha Chase train is that this woman can wrote feel good romance like a champ! Every book has me smiling ridiculously wide and my heart is always full!

The journey of Owen Shaughnessy and Brooke Matthews was the thing dreams are made of . Polar opposites to the naked eye, but under the surface, both had layers that drew them together perfectly. Brooke gave Owen the opportunity to really grow and own himself. He has always been protected by his siblings (since he was the 'shy' one) however his attraction to Brooke forced him to have the confidence he already possessed deep down inside. To push himself for love :) Owen gave Brooke the push and drive she needed to see herself as more than just a pretty face. Reading their story made me unbelievably happy you guys. These characters ... this whole series ... is overwhelmingly poignant. It so much bigger than a romance story. It's a story of growth and self-worth and family and love. It is really well written and very well thought out.

I liked the premise of the story but what bugged me about it was the fact that Owen was WAY too shy and lacked confidence. He was almost pitiful. The book was really depressing. Owen AND Brooke's constant insecure musings took me right out of the story on several occasions, making it difficult to finish the book. I think if the author had dialed back both characters' shyness/awkwardness/self-loathing, this would have been a bang-up novel.
