Exquisite Romance! A masterful emotional story full of pleasure, pain, heartbreak and love. Starting a new Samantha Chase story is always an emotional experience for me, her stories forever touching my heart and making me fall in love with her characters. And the Shaughnessy's clan seem to have jumped off the page and captured my heart and soul that I feel that I know them personally.
Owen Shaughnessy's story is definitely my new favorites. filled with angst, love and laughter. Owen and Brooke's story was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Brooke and Owen's growing connection and their chemistry. I liked learning their history and watching them come together. They had a playfulness and flirtatiousness to them. I enjoyed smart, shy, kind, Owen opening up and being so honest caring and sweet. While Brooke was so up beat, understanding and loving at all times with Owen. It was great watching them work through their struggles as they figured everything out. I thought they were made for one another.
This was really such an excellent story. Reconnecting with the whole Shaughnessy's family is always a treat and catching up with all their news is icing on the cake. So go buy this book! If you like reading, laughing and heart wrenching good stories you will fall in love. Loved it!
Highly Recommended!

Favorite Quotes:

I don’t even know how to describe it. Honestly, just the sight of her left me speechless… she walked in and… the entire room was brighter…

Studies have shown that this is why you used to get wedgies… When you are out with a beautiful woman— to whom you are attracted— the last thing you should be thinking of is whether you’re going to get seven to eight hours of sleep!

Superman and Clark Kent… I always wanted to be Superman… Riley always took the cape… It was who we were destined to be, I guess.

Owen, you and I are not men who believe in whimsy or things we can’t prove. We’re practical and realistic. But I can tell you this— that day when I first laid eyes on your mother, I believed that dreams come true. I believed in love at first sight. And I believed in the power of wishing on a star and the possibility of fairy tales.

I like how you engage in the geek talk.

My Review:

I savored this charming story from beginning to end. Owen and Brooke were an endearing, adorable, and delectably sweet couple. I relished the gentle and considerate nature in how they treated each other, even when they weren’t together. Their relationship developed rapidly with an instant attraction and their blossoming relationship was fun and enjoyable to witness. The storyline was highly eventful and full of feels with occasional bits of steam. Owen was a brilliant astrophysicist who was reserved, overly focused on his scientific field, and generally uncomfortable in social settings. Brooke was a former beauty queen/cheerleader/mean girl with a scary smart yet nerdy brother whom she had tormented most of her life - until he was no longer around. Brooke and Owen had both reached a crossroads in their lives, both grieving past and present losses and dealing with unusual family dynamics and I adored how they supported, respected, and comforted each other. The writing was engaging, entertaining and emotive, and was deftly laced together with thoughtful insightfulness that squeezed my heart and may have stung my eyes a few times as well. A Sky Full Of Stars is not only my favorite of the series but is also my favorite Samantha Chase book to date. Owen is definitely the cream of the crop as he is not only the best and the brightest but also the sweetest of the entire Shaughnessy clan.

Just when you thought you couldn't love this family more...

I'm so happy for Owen! I've read the other books in the series and always had a soft spot for the quiet, brainy brother. Owen has always been in the background, speaking up when necessary, and quite the opposite of his twin- not to mention the rest of his family. You just have to love how protective they all are of him. Brooke was a great gal and perfect for him. She always just sees him as a person. Her ulterior motive is not at all nefarious, so you don't have to dislike her for trying to use the guy for getting what she wants. There is a wee little bit of sadness to the story, but a lot of joy and fun. These two were a ton fun to read and get to know. I can't wait to see who gets the next story! I received a copy via Netgalley. My opinions are my own.

WOW!! Words can’t describe my reaction to A Sky Full of Stars by Samantha Chase. I’m not sure how she does it but each of Ms. Chase’s books is better than the last. Ms. Chase has the gift to create a sweet story with two people needing to find that confidence in themselves and their lives while finding love along the way. The manner in which she has created a family in which everyone is supportive of each other, no matter how difficult things seem is amazing. This is Owen’s story; Owen the genius, the nerd, the one lacking social skills, at least according to anyone not a Shaughnessy or Brittany Matthews. Brittany understood Owen in ways no else could. Maybe it was her artistic nature or perhaps her experiences with her genius brother that gave her that ability.

I totally enjoyed reading this fun and entertaining story. The story line was riveting and the characters had real, everyday problems. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end as I had trouble putting it down. Although this book is part of a series it is a standalone story. I highly recommend this outstanding book to other readers.

Once again I have a new book boyfriend!! Samantha Chase has outdone herself with how opposites finally find their HEA!! Owen is a genius astrophysicist, the sky is his life. Brooke is known as the "mean girl" artist. As their worlds collide, they both take off layers of emotional baggage to find their HEA.

This book will leave you smiling at the end, but will shed a few tears through the way. I love the Shaughnessy family. Such closeness, even when they have their differences. Don't we all wish that we could be part of this family. I now want a Chicago hotdog, lol!!

I highly recommend this book along with the rest of Shaughnessy family stories.

Oh my gosh y'all this book is just EVERYTHING! This story is filled with so much emotion, it's sad, romantic, sexy, and so much more. Samantha Chase had me smiling and crying.
Before A Sky Full of Stars I had thought the Quinn was my favorite Shaughnessy but after my heart belongs to Owen. He's so insecure at times but he's also considerate, loving, manly, and sexy.
This series makes me smile. Each story bring the entire family back together and it's like a family reunion. And of course no Shaughnessy story would be complete without the kick in the butt only an amazing father like Ian can give.
This left me with a book hangover. Great job Samantha Chase!!

I fell in love with this book in the series! I think I related more to Owen than any of the other brothers. I am not a super social person so I understand some of his vulnerability and awkwardness. I love the hidden passion he has, the love for his family, and that he figures out he is stronger than he realizes. The Superman and Clark Kent references were spot on for Owen and Riley. I love that Owen and Brooke are both willing to cherish what they have with each other, bring out the best with each other!
If you haven't read this series by Samantha Chase, you need to start. You won't be sorry!

I have been eagerly waiting for this book and boy was it worth the wait. The gorgeous Owen and beautiful Brooke. What a combination. Owen is the kind of male lead that I love. Gorgeous sexy and so so sweet. Brooke is beautiful on the inside and out. Owen is a brilliant scientist and socially awkward, Brooke is a former beauty queen trying to make her mark. Then their stars collide and the fireworks begin. I absolutely loved this book and didn't want it to end. Samantha Chase has a way of making you love and care about the characters. You become involved in their world and they feel like your family. Many Thanks to to Samantha the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review.

First off CONGRATULATIONS to the spectacular Samantha Chase on another totally fabulous book in the Shaughnessy “Brothers” series. Yes, Ms. Chase I have a question about this, for which I will ask at the end of the review.
This is the story about the “Brainiac” in the Shaughnessy family, Owen. I absolutely LOVED Owen. He is the sibling that I relate to most. No, absolutely not in the brain category, but, in the backwards, painfully shy description. I was ecstatic when Ms. Chase paired him up with Brooke Matthews. She is the “free spirited” outgoing, artistic person that I felt Owen needed to bring him out of his shell. I tremendously enjoyed watching Brooke and Owen learn to understand the other and first become friends and then lovers, and finally fall “in love”. I LOVED how Owen was blown away the first time….. Stop, I am sorry I do not give spoilers in my reviews.
I think the reason I am so absolutely fascinated about this series, is the sense of family, and how any one of the members of this family will drop everything if one of their siblings, or their father need something. You can see the love that they share between each other even when one sibling is angry at another, when Riley…... Woops, I said no spoilers.
OK, Ms. Chase, here is my question: Why did you name the series, “The Shaughnessy “Brothers” Series, when I know for a fact, from a VERY reliable source, that the last book is this series is about the Shaughnessy “Sister” Darcy?
Now for the most important item, I need to thank Sourcebooks, NetGalley, and most importantly, Samantha Chase for the gift of the ARC of this phenomenal book for my honest opinion.
This phenomenal book releases on June 6th, 2017 at midnight. It can be ordered from the following major outlets:

I love Owen and Brooke....
Owen is so introverted and Brooke brings him out of his shell in an awesome way. The sky is his life, he is a top Astrophysicists that travels all over to teach. He has no home to go to choosing to live in hotels. This is just his personality, he believes he is a nerd, and different.
Brooke is an artist living flighty and free her past defines her and she is very saddened by it.
Opposites attract in this book and Owen becomes someone his family can;t believe with the help of Brooke. He will have issues with them now that he speaks his mind but the family is aways there. He will also have some serious life lessons learned.
This was probably my favorite book in this series so far. I loved it.

As Brooke Mathews knows with every breath, it’s a breathtaking transformation and she is in love with this scientist turned lover!

So sets the tone for Samantha Chase’s latest intro to the fifth Shaughnessy brother Owen Shaughnessy. Acclaimed and accredited scientist Owen always was the quiet Shaughnessy sibling, brilliant in his field yet ignorant of the gossip of the world, comfortable within his family domain, yet shy in the social glares, but all it takes is one nymphet Brooke Mathews to throw all his science out the window as is heart loses control.

A scientist versus an artist, absolution versus imagination, analytical versus creativity, poles apart yet perfect for each other, Owen and Brooke make the most beautiful and favorite couples of the Shaughnessys.

I remember chatting with a friend a few weeks ago before reading “A Sky Full Of Stars’ and telling her that this story would be Samantha Chase’s shining star of the series and she doesn’t disappoint at all. From creating Owen and Brooke, to being so very eloquent of the feelings of a shy person, to detailing the dynamics of the Shaughnessy family, she has done a brilliant job with this story.

The entire conversation between Owen and his twin Riley is the highlight of the book for me –

“You are a rock star, bro. No different than me-just in a different field.”
“Or don’t you remember what Mom used to call us? “Superman and Clark Kent”
“We are the same, Owen. You are just my mild-mannered alter-ego.”

And if this doesn’t tug at your heartstrings, the heart-to-heart conversation between Owen and his father Ian is just pure genius. Do not miss reading one single word of these two conversations – so very emotional, caring, supportive and wish for a family as close knit and dynamic as the Shaughnessys.

“A Sky Full Of Stars” deserves so many more stars than what the night sky would hold and Samantha Chase definitely is shining as bright as the Sirius with this story!

WOW, Another Amazing book with all the feels by the fabulous Samantha Chase. I know when I pick up a book by this author, I am in for a treat with a 5 star and re-read book. Again, she has not failed me with Owen and Brooke's story, I laughed, smiled, sad and mad. If you are looking for a great romance story, make sure you read this one or any other story by Samantha Chase.

Wow....this was such an enjoyable read. I've been looking forward to Owen's book for a while. I couldn't wait to see how Samantha wrote about him since he is so different from all his brothers. As a mom of twin boys who are completely different from one another it was fun to see how this developed. The female lead of Brooke was so much more than I could have imagined. She was perfect for Owen even if he couldn't see that at first. I love how a lot of the role were reversed in this book. It was nice to see.
This book has a lot of skeletons in its past. Hopefully so twists and turns you won't see coming.
The ending makes this all worth it. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK.

A Sky Full of StarsMy favorite of the series so far, this book lets socially awkward and braniac astrophysicist Dr. Owen Shaughnessy meet his match in the beautiful former beauty queen, former head cheerleader, and former mean girl, Brooke Matthews (a lot of jokes about her being named after a famous model, never quite figured this one out). She's now an artist obsessed with the night sky. Owen is about to take some students out to Red Rock to study the stars and his mentor/her uncle thinks Brooke would not only benefit from being able to go out with a group, Owen would get a go-between to help him with the students.
The two meet and have an immediate attraction. Brooke feels an affinity to Owen right away, being able to talk to him how she would have talked to her older brother, also a genius. But she feels a little insecure because her parents pushed her and her brother so much into the roles of Beauty and the Brain. There is a swift romance that involves a whirlwind trip from Chicago (where they met) to Las Vegas and then on to meeting Owen's family in North Carolina.
And it's here that I start to have some issues with this book. I think we start to move away from Brooke and Owen's story to the set up for the last Shaughnessy sibling, Darcy. The last Big Misunderstanding also felt a little forced and unnecessary. It just dragged out the story.

Four stars

I knew Owen's story was going to be a hard one. It's not often that we are able to get into a shy mans head. Most books are all about the confident, cocky, alpha males. Samantha was able to capture Owen perfectly. So many emotions in this story. It started out a little slower, it didn't completely grab me right away but then again that also goes with how Owen is. Cautious, careful. Then Brooke comes out of nowhere to turn his world upside down, in a good way! The feelings that are new to Owen, it was like he was seeing things for the first time. I loved it. Brooke had her own demons to face, pretty deep stuff. I suggest this series be read in order, even though they can all be read separately, you won't get the full effect of how this family works without reading the others first. I can't wait to read Darcy's Story (Holiday Spice).

I love when the nerdy types get the girl. Owen and Brooke's story was so unique. An astrophysicist and an artist made for quite the delightful pair. Samantha Chase's characters are always so well-developed that they really do seem to just pop off the pages. This book didn't have a ton of drama so it made for a nice easy read. I'd definitely recommend it.

Finally! I have been waiting on Owen’s story since I started this series. He has been my favorite from the beginning.

Owen is one of 6 kids in the Shaughnessy family, and a twin. He is extremely intelligent, shy, socially awkward, an introvert, observant, sweet, kind, caring and tries to make sure everyone else’s needs are taken care of with no thoughts to his own. He’s more comfortable talking science than attempting small talk. He’s been a little jealous of his brothers because they have found the loves of their lives and he doesn’t see that ever happening for himself.

His family is fiercely protective of him. They have always let him know there is nothing wrong with him, or being different, and he doesn’t need to change a thing about himself. Despite this, he has always felt a little like an outsider looking in. It was awesome watching Owen come into his own and stand up for himself.

Brooke Matthews is a blast of sunshine and exactly what Owen needs. She’s bright, outgoing, artistic and independent. She has some hurts in her past to overcome. She is currently trying to make it as an artist. Her uncle is Owen’s long time mentor and friend.

When these two meet, there is instant attraction. Owen can’t believe someone as beautiful and outgoing as Brooke would be interested in introverted, socially awkward him. We get a ringside seat as they work through their challenges, together and individually.

Ian, their dad, is as loveable as always. He is the family foundation, always ready to listen and give good advice when asked. After he shares the story of how he and their mom met, it opened Owen’s eyes to just how similar he and his dad are.

I felt bad for Martha, but she should have anticipated the reaction she got to her statement. The entire Shaughnessy family, including Ian, worshipped the ground their mom walked on. It will be interesting to see where that storyline goes.

This is just a feel good series about a tight knit Irish family. They love, support and encourage each other (not perfectly or without some arguing, but with good intentions) as they grow up, work through their issues and find loves and lives of their own, yet always come back together. These are real people with real issues/challenges. No pie in the sky stories. Can’t wait for Darcy’s story.

I'm a big Samantha Chase fan and have read all of the "Shaughnessy Brothers" series to date. Having read the entire series, I can say that this is by far the best book in the series. I cried pretty much the entire last 20-30% of the book. It was a very emotional read, especially at the end, and touched on subjects that are heartbreaking. But of course, as with any good Samantha Chase book, you also had a lot of humor, love and even frustration thrown in there to keep you on your toes.

I had to play catch-up and read Riley's story first though before beginning this one. It's not required since these can be read as a standalone, but it certainly helps you understand the quirkiness of Owen and also helps you understand the dynamics between Riley & Owen since they're twins.

Owen is the braniac of the Shaughnessy family. He's shy, a bit of a social outcast, but he's incredibly smart and loves his family. He's been on a traveling lecture circuit for a while and lands in Chicago where his mentor Howard teaches. Brooke is the former beauty queen and mean girl who has reformed herself into a beautiful and compassionate young lady. She's also Howard's niece. Owen is in charge of an upcoming trip to Red Rock with a group of students and Howard wants Brooke to accompany Owen and help him be more social and interact with the students, while also painting the canyon since she was an artist.

You can say it was love at first sight with these two. Now, this was not an insta-love type thing though where they are madly in love from the beginning. No, Owen fought his attraction to Brooke and let his insecurities get the best of him. He was always feeling like an outcast and awkward 'nerd' that he thought the beauty queen could never like him. Brooke thought that surely someone like Owen could never like the former mean girl since he was exactly the type person she use to pick on. They certainly both had their insecurities, but they overcame most of them enough to begin a relationship. We're taken on a sweet, but very emotional ride as they learn more about one another, explore the country and cultivate their friendship & relationship.

I loved Owen. I understood his insecurities, but I'm glad that he finally stepped out of his comfort zone and just let go of his incredibly structured ways. He did annoy me at times when he let them get the best of him, but it was great seeing him take on new personas when he was around Brooke. I liked Brooke - she was a bit of a free spirit trying to atone for her past sins. It takes a lot to admit that you were wrong and to own up for past mistakes, so I respected her for that. I also loved that she was always encouraging Owen and telling him that there was nothing wrong with him. A good women will love you for you and will be there to defend and protect you, and Brooke was certainly that type of woman. Owen turned around and did the same thing for Brooke when others were looking down on her as well. They were absolutely perfect for each other, despite their huge differences.

The Shaughnessy family made appearances throughout the book, as with previous books. I love how close they all are, as it should be with families. We get to hear Ian's story of how he met his wife in this book as well and it was incredibly sweet and so much like Owen's that I cried. I'm a bit worried about the relationship with Martha now though, so I hope Darcy's book will include some resolution for that since she was a sweet lady. The Shaughnessy family surprised me with their attitudes towards her and Brooke at one point in the book and I nearly lost all my love for them after that incident, but they redeemed themselves. But it just shows that even the best of people sometimes lose their cool and make mistakes.

Overall, this is a book I would highly recommend to everyone. Just be prepared to have some tissues handy since you will definitely cry.

I absolutely loved the latest addition to the Shaughnessy series. I have been waiting anxiously for Owen's story, and it was worth the wait. Artsy Brooke is perfect for him. This book made me laugh and shed a few tears. Definitely recommend.
