Finally! I have been waiting on Owen’s story since I started this series. He has been my favorite from the beginning.

Owen is one of 6 kids in the Shaughnessy family, and a twin. He is extremely intelligent, shy, socially awkward, an introvert, observant, sweet, kind, caring and tries to make sure everyone else’s needs are taken care of with no thoughts to his own. He’s more comfortable talking science than attempting small talk. He’s been a little jealous of his brothers because they have found the loves of their lives and he doesn’t see that ever happening for himself.

His family is fiercely protective of him. They have always let him know there is nothing wrong with him, or being different, and he doesn’t need to change a thing about himself. Despite this, he has always felt a little like an outsider looking in. It was awesome watching Owen come into his own and stand up for himself.

Brooke Matthews is a blast of sunshine and exactly what Owen needs. She’s bright, outgoing, artistic and independent. She has some hurts in her past to overcome. She is currently trying to make it as an artist. Her uncle is Owen’s long time mentor and friend.

When these two meet, there is instant attraction. Owen can’t believe someone as beautiful and outgoing as Brooke would be interested in introverted, socially awkward him. We get a ringside seat as they work through their challenges, together and individually.

Ian, their dad, is as loveable as always. He is the family foundation, always ready to listen and give good advice when asked. After he shares the story of how he and their mom met, it opened Owen’s eyes to just how similar he and his dad are.

I felt bad for Martha, but she should have anticipated the reaction she got to her statement. The entire Shaughnessy family, including Ian, worshipped the ground their mom walked on. It will be interesting to see where that storyline goes.

This is just a feel good series about a tight knit Irish family. They love, support and encourage each other (not perfectly or without some arguing, but with good intentions) as they grow up, work through their issues and find loves and lives of their own, yet always come back together. These are real people with real issues/challenges. No pie in the sky stories. Can’t wait for Darcy’s story.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley.

I'm a big Samantha Chase fan and have read all of the "Shaughnessy Brothers" series to date. Having read the entire series, I can say that this is by far the best book in the series. I cried pretty much the entire last 20-30% of the book. It was a very emotional read, especially at the end, and touched on subjects that are heartbreaking. But of course, as with any good Samantha Chase book, you also had a lot of humor, love and even frustration thrown in there to keep you on your toes.

I had to play catch-up and read Riley's story first though before beginning this one. It's not required since these can be read as a standalone, but it certainly helps you understand the quirkiness of Owen and also helps you understand the dynamics between Riley & Owen since they're twins.

Owen is the braniac of the Shaughnessy family. He's shy, a bit of a social outcast, but he's incredibly smart and loves his family. He's been on a traveling lecture circuit for a while and lands in Chicago where his mentor Howard teaches. Brooke is the former beauty queen and mean girl who has reformed herself into a beautiful and compassionate young lady. She's also Howard's niece. Owen is in charge of an upcoming trip to Red Rock with a group of students and Howard wants Brooke to accompany Owen and help him be more social and interact with the students, while also painting the canyon since she was an artist.

You can say it was love at first sight with these two. Now, this was not an insta-love type thing though where they are madly in love from the beginning. No, Owen fought his attraction to Brooke and let his insecurities get the best of him. He was always feeling like an outcast and awkward 'nerd' that he thought the beauty queen could never like him. Brooke thought that surely someone like Owen could never like the former mean girl since he was exactly the type person she use to pick on. They certainly both had their insecurities, but they overcame most of them enough to begin a relationship. We're taken on a sweet, but very emotional ride as they learn more about one another, explore the country and cultivate their friendship & relationship.

I loved Owen. I understood his insecurities, but I'm glad that he finally stepped out of his comfort zone and just let go of his incredibly structured ways. He did annoy me at times when he let them get the best of him, but it was great seeing him take on new personas when he was around Brooke. I liked Brooke - she was a bit of a free spirit trying to atone for her past sins. It takes a lot to admit that you were wrong and to own up for past mistakes, so I respected her for that. I also loved that she was always encouraging Owen and telling him that there was nothing wrong with him. A good women will love you for you and will be there to defend and protect you, and Brooke was certainly that type of woman. Owen turned around and did the same thing for Brooke when others were looking down on her as well. They were absolutely perfect for each other, despite their huge differences.

The Shaughnessy family made appearances throughout the book, as with previous books. I love how close they all are, as it should be with families. We get to hear Ian's story of how he met his wife in this book as well and it was incredibly sweet and so much like Owen's that I cried. I'm a bit worried about the relationship with Martha now though, so I hope Darcy's book will include some resolution for that since she was a sweet lady. The Shaughnessy family surprised me with their attitudes towards her and Brooke at one point in the book and I nearly lost all my love for them after that incident, but they redeemed themselves. But it just shows that even the best of people sometimes lose their cool and make mistakes.

Overall, this is a book I would highly recommend to everyone. Just be prepared to have some tissues handy since you will definitely cry.

I absolutely loved the latest addition to the Shaughnessy series. I have been waiting anxiously for Owen's story, and it was worth the wait. Artsy Brooke is perfect for him. This book made me laugh and shed a few tears. Definitely recommend.

The Shaughnessy family is back again with Owen’s story. Owen’s never been like his siblings due to his intelligence, and when his mother died, he lost his cheerleader who helped him see his worth. Owen’s mentor introduces him to his niece, Brooke, who feels a connection to Owen unlike anything she’s ever felt before. He feels the same way about her, but doubts she can truly love him. Owen’s family is there for him and gives him a kick in the butt to help him get his girl. Another wonderful book by Samantha Chase!

My heart aches. The tears have left tracks down my checks. It is rare for a book to touch me this deeply. It takes an extremely talented author like Nora Roberts or Danielle Steel to do this. I laughed. I cried. I cheered Owen on! I love Owen completely! His lack of confidence, social awkwardness, & ineptness endeared his character to me. Brooke is a complete opposite of him but was perfect for him since she had already changed her personality from the mean girl she was in school. She knew how difficult it was & without knowing it, was able to guide him along his path.

The interactions between Owen & his family were enlightening. Owen & Riley always relied on each other until Riley became jealous of Owen's growth. When Owen stood up for himself, didn't back down & let Riley have it, I could have cheered! The Owen they knew didn't call them on their bad manners. The interactions between Owen & his dad, Brooke & her uncle & even Owen & his mentor were tender & educational. These moments lead to more & more details of their pasts & personalities coming to the surface. The intensity of the attraction from the minute Brooke & Owen meet jumps off the page at you.

I don't know how Samantha Chase does it. Each story builds on the feelings from the previous ones. This can be read as a stand alone since each plot ends within the book. If you start at the beginning with the first book, you get more of an understanding into the personalities. I don't feel that my review has done this book justice but I've done my best. I can't wait for Darcy's story!

This book!! It was fabulous! A sweet, sexy, emotional story about Owen, the genius astrophysicist, and Brooke, mean girl turned artist. The story had everything you could want. I especially liked how each of these characters had to overcome self-doubt in order to find their HEA. And now I'm anxiously awaiting Darcy's story!

A fantastic story that touched every corner of my heart. It was so exciting to see Owen Shaughnessy shed his nerdy shell and become the man he was always meant to be. Owen has dated before but never has he known a woman who understands him the way the feisty free spirited Brooke Mathews does. He will never be able to thank his mentor and Brooke's uncle enough for introducing him.

This is one of the best opposites attract stories I've read. Owen is serious, lacks social skills, and feels a little lost in world. Brooke is artistic, outgoing, and appears confident and strong. Together they are explosive. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Samantha Chase has a gift. A gift for creating families and developing a series of books about them. The Shaughnessys just may be the most special fictional family I have ever met! I have loved reading about all of them to this point. Aidan the control freak, Hugh the uptight one, Quinn the flirty one and Riley the sexy musician. I had been counting down the months, weeks, days, until I could read Owen, the super smart one's story, A SKY FULL OF STARS, and let me tell you, it was definitely worth the wait!

Owen Shaughnessy, an exceptionally intelligent, very literal, astrophysicist, has been temporarily working as a faculty member at a University in Chicago, when Brooke, a beautiful, artsy, engaging, whimsical woman is introduced to him. The seed of the idea of Brooke assisting Owen on a student trip to Red Rocks, to view the eta aquarid meteor shower was mentioned to them by a mutual party. Owen would go and discuss the science of the stars in the sky with his students. Brooke wanted to paint the night sky. What neither of them counted on was the strong attraction they had for each other, a pull that was hard to resist.

Samantha Chase took me on an emotional, fun, desperately romantic ride. I wanted Owen and Brooke to see the promise each of them held, in themselves and in each other. I was impressed that Owen broke out of his comfort zone on occassion. I was glad to go back to North Carolina for a bit. I was completely torn up over family dynamics that had me bawling like a baby one minute and laughing my butt off the next. And of course, any time we saw a glimpse of Lillian Shaughnessy, I was grateful.

So, I thank you, Samantha Chase, not only for creating The Shaughnessy Family(that I want to somehow become an honorary member of), but for wrting A SKY FULL OF STARS. Owen's story is incredibly meaningful, realistic, heartfelt and romantic! You are a true STAR!!! Congratulations!!

I love all Shaughnessy's . Owen is truly my favorite. Owen is on the outside looking in the window to his family. Brooke is trying to find herself. They both have insecurities. Brooke is the ray of light in Owens world. When she leaves he feels like sun has gone behind the clouds. Brooke brings joyful passion to his life. In some ways his siblings have a hard time seeing him in this new role. Brooke gives him the confidence to show the whole world that he is an amazing , loyal and gifted man. This book reminds me of Bridget Jones Diary. Owen totally reminds me of Mark Darcy. I cannot wait for Darcy's book. I totally recommend this book any romance lover.

A Sky Full of Stars is such a wonderful, sweet and emotional story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I didn't want to put it down once I started it. Owen and Brooke have such a unique relationship and it was so enjoyable to watch them grow individually and as a couple. Both Owen and Brooke have their own issues to work through and they realize that they are stronger together than apart. The change in Owen shocks his family but are happy to see him grow as a person. This book tugged at all of my emotions and I found myself reaching for tissues for both Owen and Brooke. This book is part of a series but you will not have any difficulty reading it as a stand alone.

A Sky Full of Stars by Samantha Chase

Wow. There are really no words to describe what I am feeling right now. I mean I love Samantha chase and all her books. I have been waiting forever to read Owen's story. Owen's story was well worth the wait. Samantha Chase went above and beyond my expectations of what Owen's story would be. In A Sky Full of Stars Samantha Chase brings together an self-conscious artist and a shy astrophysicist.

In A Sky Full of Stars we finally get to know Owen Shaughnessy. We also meet Brooke Matthews. Owen is beyond brilliant and of course sexy and of course lacking social skills (or so he believes). Owen often is the opposite of all his siblings socially. Owen even feels like an outsider where he family is concerned. He is also Riley Shaughnessy's twin.
Brooke Matthews is an artist. She is independent. She is the niece of Owen's friend and mentor Howard. Brooke is the opposite of Owen.

Through out this story we see Owen open up and grow. He changes. We get to see how when two opposites fall in love what happens to them and their world. Owen and Brooke soon discover that love can overpower and amaze you.

It is easy to see why I adore Samantha Chase as an author and why I adore all her books. In every single story she writes you find you can relate with her characters. They and their struggles are realistic. Samantha Chase goes above and beyond in all her stories but in A Sky Full of Stars she went beyond her normal. a Sky Full of Stars was masterfully written. Perfect from beginning to end. From the first page you get emotion of all types. I cried and laughed. My heart swooned and ached. I completely enjoyed every moment in this book. This was well worth the wait for Owen.

I highly recommend A Sky Full of Stars. You will not regret reading this story.
If I could go beyond a five star rating I would. Just perfect. Way to go Samantha Chase this was a superb read and my favorite of all time.

A sky full of stars is about Owen Shaughnessy, a brilliant astrophysicist and Brooke Mathews, an artist. Two people who are completely opposite each other, but yet similar in a lot of ways. Magic is expected when opposites attract and Ms Chase doesn't disappoint .
This was a beautiful read of hope, loss, and family bond. It was a fast paced read with strong emotions that made me laugh and cry. I just loved Owen, he was so endearing. This is definitely an addition to my list of favorite reads.

A Sky Full of Stars (The Shaughnessy Brothers Book 5) is the beautifully emotional story of Owen and Brooke. Owen is super smart with a brilliant career as an astrophysicist but he is socially awkward and shy. Owen is scheduled to lead a trip of students to view a meteor shower and although the scientific part of the trip will come easily to Owen the social interaction with the students will be difficult. Howard, Owen’s mentor, and friend recognizes that and introduces Owen to his niece Brooke hoping she will be of help to Owen in breaking the ice with his students.

Brooke is Owen’s complete opposite – she is an outgoing, confident artist that can carry on a conversation with anyone. Although Brooke is beautiful and leads Owen down a path of self-doubt, the attraction between the two of them is almost at first sight. Owen and Brooke begin to spend time together doing things that each of them enjoys. They take the relationship slowly but when it moves to the next level – the setting could not be more perfect!

So what happens when opposites attract – pure magic that leaves the reader breathless!
I love how sweet and thoughtful Owen is – the way he thinks everything through and chooses his words carefully. My favorite lines from the book are Owen’s - “ You never have to worry about anything with me Brooke”…”I will never ask anything of you that you aren’t willing to give, and if anything about my being her with you makes you uncomfortable, I’ll leave. Your peace of mind, your happiness, are all that matters.”

This story touched my heart and in true Samantha Chase fashion, it left me wanting more of the Shaughnessy Brothers!

Dr Owen Shaughnessy is brilliant, sexy, socially inept, (so he thinks), and a twin of a famous rock star. Brook Matthews is an artist, ex beauty pageant contestant, and the niece of Dr. Owen's mentor. These two are as different as two people can be. He's strait laced, she's fancy free. But you know what they say opposites attract. Brook is a great match for Owen. She gets him. He try's to "get" her . First Owen has to overcome all the things he was bullied about growing up to become the man he is today. Brook helps him do this. Another beautiful story from Samantha Chase. I think maybe it was my favorite to date. You'll laugh, you'll cry, (lots of crying) and love the HEA.

This story is most definitely a tear jerker! No lie!

Owen is that very reserved person to the point that I didn't know if and how I would come to like him. He is a Shaughnessy that lacks confidence in himself but has all the love he could possibly need coming from his family. He never thought that he would find himself with a woman who could fill a gap that he didn't realize was there but that is what Brooke did.

Brooke is from a family that expected her to be a trophy wife. She was in beauty pageants and wasn't expected to excel in academics. So when she meets Owen she see's something in him; something more than awkward. She pursues him in a way that he never expected but she was very kind and considerate about it. She could see what made him uncomfortable and let him into himself at a pace that he needed.

She definitely brought something out in him that his family never expected and they didn't know quite well how to handle it. She showed him that he was more than what people said he was and that he had so much potential to be exactly as he should. Maybe that doesn't make sense but once you read this, you'll know what I mean.

I loved the character growth shown on both ends and I love that it wasn't forced but seemed natural.

Great read!

Owen Shaunessey the shy, quiet, super intelligent, sensitive brother of the bunch of 6 siblings, finds his solstice in the night sky. Something he shared with his mother before fate intervened when he was younger. Today Owen finds himself unsettled, feeling the outsider in life, socially and with his family.
Then he meets Brooke, a gorgeous talented artist and niece of his mentor. Both have baggage, both need the other to find themselves and each other, this is their story as seen in the stars, literally! I laughed, cringed, gasped in shock and cried at several points through the story Ms Chase has way of wrapping an amazing story around her readers, drawing them in, evoking the feelings for real - amazing

A true romantic delight, "A Sky Full of Stars," is one of the top gems of romance this year.

This year I have been taking a break from my normal readings of historical fiction and have hopped on board the contemporary romance train. I'm glad that I did. I still love historical romances but this year has unquestionably been a time for the shining spotlight of modern romances. The author, Samantha Chase has been a favorite of mine for some time now mostly due to her imaginative plots. The thing I love most about a Chase novel is the author's ability to create intertwining plots that are pristine, clear and highly romanticizing. This was the case with "A Sky Full of Stars," the novel was so romantic, I mean a night spent beneath the open vast, vibrate stars of the grand canyon and my romantic heart literally melted into pieces.

I have to give Chase thumbs up for creating a more sophisticated hero such as with Owen. I love a techie hero in comparison to the over worn bad boy hero I am so used to seeing in romances. Owen was attractive, smart, funny and quite the charmer. In short, Owen's characteristics are more of what I want to see in modern heroes.

Let's talk about Brooke, the heroine. Brooke was more the standard heroine that I expected to find although I did love her career as a scenery artist. Brooke was not only talented but beautiful and together she and Owen shared a common interest regarding the stars which basically is the central focus of the novel. I'm happy with this fact because the romance is the true superstar of this novel.

I do want to point out that it is best to read the entire series of, "The Shaughnessy Brothers," to get a sense of what each brother's own personality is like and because the stories are worth reading. You do not have to do so of course because there is the minimum amount of confusion if you chose to start "A Sky Full of Stars first."

If it is not only apparent I would immensely propose that take my advice and read this novel as you are in for a real treat.

A Sky Full of Stars by Samantha Chase is another brilliant masterpiece. Once again, this talented writer, has brought me to tears. Her story is full of emeotions that pulled at my heart strings. Sad, hilarious, frustrated and loved. A book that made readers feel something is a book worth reading. A Sky Full of Stars has it all.

Inside this latest novel, Samantha Chase features the brainiac brother. Dr. Own Shaughnessy. He's hot, clever, and the sweetest man ever. But little by little, I got to view his bolder side. His personality is one that intrigued me. All his life, his family stood up for me. Telling him,,he's normal. When everyone else said differently. As an adult a lot of that feeling of not being normal transferred over...making it harder for Dr. Owen to believe in himself. Yet, his family continued to tell him he's perefect. I love the Shaughnessy family. Yes, they're loud and different, but they're loyal. They love each other.

A Sky Full of Stars is about Dr. Owen finding the courage to believe that he's perfect the way he is. That's he's normal. It's a real struggle for the man whose so talented. Then, as the plot unfolds, his world gets shaken. Enter Brooke Matthews. A girl trained for beauty pageants. Together their lives will be rocky. As in the real world nothing comes easy...these two will cry, laugh, love, and fight. I enjoyed watching them grow. Also, themes of loss, love, and courage are found on every page. Overall, I highly recommend A Sky Full of Stars to all.
