Creativity is a trait that continues to draw me to author, Samantha Chase. Never has her understanding of the heart been more obvious than Owen Shaughnessy. I knew A Sky Full of Stars would be special and Ms. Chase did not disappoint. In Owen she dreamed up a unique hero that is as clueless as he is unforgettable. He's book smart but emotionally he's like a baby bird learning to spread his wings. He feels deeply, yet doesn't fully ascertain how to express what he feels. In Brooke, he finds his total opposite, but he also learns to not overthink life, LIVE IT. In no way should this couple work but they do. They bring out the best in each other as each learns how to be true themselves.

Owen is my favourite Shaughnessy brother. Such a gentle soul who was very close to his mum and has always struggled to find his way after her death when he was only a young lad. I was lucky enough to receive and ARC of this book. You won't be disappointed. It really is a beautiful story. Have the tissue box handy as you will shed a tear or hundred .. like me. Both Owen and Brooke have a little heartbreak in their lives.
They are so sweet together.
I loved the friendship between them and also with Owen's siblings..
Can't wait for Darcy's book

A really great story!!! Brilliant astrophysicist Owen Shaughnessy finally gets his story. Owen who is very comfortable in the science world finds himself dealing with feelings he has never encountered before when he meets free-spirited Brooke Matthews. Two polar opposites open each other's world to new possibilities.

Shaughnessy #5

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 amazing stars, Stars

Ohhh I’ve been waiting for Owen Shaughnessy, and boy did I get him?! The awkward and incredibly smart member of the family has always sat on the sidelines as the family grows, he is more comfortable with his science world. People have never been his thing, preferring to teach about A Sky Full of Stars.

All the way through this series, I have held a soft spot for Owen. He is forever the butt of everyone’s jokes (that he sadly doesn’t get most of the time) but this just makes him perfect in my world. As an astrophysicist, Owen is smart in the brain sense but not so much in the street sense. After losing his mother, Owen also lost the one person who really understood him and that never really went away. Now as an adult he takes in a role as teacher in Chicago, it is here with mentor Howard that Owen meets the stunning Brooke Matthews. The 2 couldn’t be more different, but will find it is those differences that will make this couple.

Brooke comes with demons from her past but as a previous beauty pageant contestant, she is stunning, smart and everything Owen isn’t. Losing someone close to her has bought on a change in life, one with her uncle Howard in Chicago, in an attempt to start painting again. Howard attempts to push Owen and Brooke together, his science smart brain and her outgoing personality will make her the perfect assistant for the upcoming trip into the dessert to gaze at stars. Owen is taken by her beauty and cannot get her out of his head. The same is to be said for Brooke.

We always hear opposites attract, but for the Shaughnessy clan bringing Brooke into their fold brings a world of questions. Her beauty brings questions from the whole family but it is Owen’s twin brother, Reilly that plants the biggest seeds of doubt. He’s seen women who use good looks to get what they want, and without knowing her tarnishes with Brooke that brush. Owen will have to work out if what he sees and feels with Brooke is real or whether she is the woman others see. It is obvious that her feelings are real but proving them will be a whole new task.

As stars collide, and meteor showers will be seen in the dead of night, Owen and Brooke will find that something that works for them. Not everything is as it seems, sometimes the differences are go be worked for and Samantha Chase has pulled the most beautiful, warm, sweet love story. This was a journey I loved and will read again and again. I’m glad to say, Owen is definitely still my favourite, but seeing more or the Shaughnessy family in each book makes me love this family more each time I read about them.

I was lucky enough to be contacted to be on a panel to get to receive and review this book early and I am so glad I got the opportunity.. I LOVED this book, it made me want to go out and get all the other books before it and start reading. I fell in love with Owen and Brooke. many times have I felt out of place and like the black sheep of my family and that is how Owen sees himself. Brooke was awesome, she was able to show Owen that he has so much going on for him and that he truly can fit in and that he wasn't a black sheep. I don't want to talk about this book to spoil the spoilers but I am so excited to read all about Darcy next. this book made me laugh and it made me cry. honestly go get this book and read it, you will love it..

I am in love with Owen and Brooke, two unlikely people who fall immediately in love. There is no greater distance than a nerdy science professor and a beauty pageant queen, but somehow together they make it work and they get their HEA. The characters were completely real, honest and lovable. The family dynamics on both sides were at times hysterical and then in other parts brought tears to my eyes. I enjoyed this story so much I now need to go back and read the rest of the series. A definite must read.

While I have enjoyed all of the books in this series, this was my favorite. Owen is the mysterious brother and this book did him justice. A Sky Full of Stars is well-written - it was easy to immerse myself in this story. It actually reminded me of the book version of some of my favorite romantic comedies!

Disclaimer- I received this free in exchange for an honest review as an ARC from Sourcebooks Casablanca through NetGalley.

Reminds me of my favorite TV show, Scorpion. A genius who needs help interacting with people. That's what Brooke proposed to Owen.
Owen is the oddball of the Shaughnessy's Family. Meaning different, more of a deep thinker. Sometimes a little overwhelming. Brooke makes him see it all differently.
Brooke is such a sweet woman. She seems to bring out the best in everyone.

What an incredible, fast-paced, captivating read Ms. Chase has penned in this fifth book of her Shaughnessy Brothers series, encompassing the opposites attract trope; well-written dialogue that kept me entertained me from start to finish with the teasing banter between Owen and Brooke; and wonderful main characters that have plenty of chemistry and intense back stories, which made me sympathize with what they've been through in their pasts. The way this story started with the prologue had me ready to cry for the hero and all that he's going through. He's lost the one person that made him feel normal, despite the fact that he's an absolute genius and someone that was bullied because of his smarts. Will his family ever be able to understand him?

As for the main characters, I absolutely loved them both. Brooke has so much guilt over what happened to her brother, and I could understand her reasons for needing to move to Chicago and be away from her parents. Were the expectations they put on their children the reason why she and her brother weren't close? Moreover, I liked that she's starting to live her life for herself instead of allowing them to continue to dictate what they expect of her. Certainly, she's becoming more independent and confident in what direction she wants for a career, even though getting someone in the art world to take notice of her work is a struggle. But what I liked most about the heroine is how good she is for Owen. She makes him want to live life and do things he wouldn't normally do; things that totally surprise his family.

While the hero, he has some tough decisions to make and I loved the way he kept surprising me with everything he did. First, there was no way he could resist Brooke, as she's the one woman that has made him want to put work aside to concentrate on her. Then there's the way he was spontaneous; something that I never thought he'd be, because he's more the bookworm stay-at-home type. Then again, he knows how precious life is and that he needs to start living it, because of what happened to his mom. However, what I liked most about the hero was how he stood up to his family, as it showed them how important Brooke is to Owen. Yet, at the same time, I liked that he listened to their advice, as he definitely needed it at times.

Overall, Ms. Chase has penned a wonderful and touching read about hope, loss and the tight bonds of family. The way this story ended had me crying happy tears because of the way Owen and Brooke were brought back to each other, so they didn't miss their chance at happy ever after. Who knew one of the secondary characters could be so devious? However, the epilogue left me a tad emotional because of what Brooke is going through. Luckily, she and Owen have something good to look forward to in the future. I would recommend A Sky Full of Stars by Samantha Chase, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Erin Nicholas, Melanie Shawn, Jennifer Bernard or Erin McCarthy.

Samantha Chase has outdone herself with Owen and Brooke's story. Fans of the series will cheer this installment. I know that Owen's story would be a little different than the rest, but I have to say, this was best book in the series so far. Chase took her time really thinking about how two opposites can bring out the best in each other. This is the best book I have read in 2017.

Whimsical and fun! Sexy and utterly sublime!

Enjoyed from start to finish.

I liked how the brothers storyline was wrapped up, leaving their sister to finish the series. Owen is adorkable, and while I wasn't entirely sure of his initial responses to Brooke (thought it might veer into stalker territory) he redeemed himself.

This is the fifth book in the Shaughnessy brothers. Owen has always been more unique that all of his brothers. A scientist who most of the time is in his own world. While being a guest professor in Chicago in walks in his classroom a woman who he couldn't keep his eyes off of. He soon finds out Brooke is the niece of his friend Howard. Brooke is an artist who specializes in painting the sky and stars and wants to go with Owen on his expedition to Grand Canyon. At first Owen is thrown into a tailspin because he never dealt with a woman like Brooke before and wanders if she can truly be into him or if he's just an obligation to her wanting to accompany him. This books was so touching although I have enjoyed reading this series this title was very touching, to see Owen blossoming into being a man who not only is passionate about his science but going after a woman he falls for hard. Of course we get to catch up with the rest of the Shaughnessy and see what the rest of them are doing. Also in this title we deal with a death of a loved one and recovering from past hurts. Review found in amazon and goodreads.

I love this series (The Shaughnessy Brothers ). This is book 5 and Owen is finally getting his own story. This leaves Darcy for the last book and her story is set up nicely in this romance between Owen and Brooke. Owen has been the sky quiet brother and it was great to see him come into his own. Brooke is the perfect foil to his quiet demeanor. As always, Samantha Chase gives you a romance with a strong woman to handle the Shaughnessy boys.

I am a big fan of this series and the author and I have enjoyed the other books in the series. This one was not my favorite but it was highly enjoyable. The reason I didn't love it as much as the others in the series is really about the hero, Own. He is very nerdy and not the alpha male type that I like.

He is called painfully shy and not social and he is on the nerd/geek type. Brooke on the other hand is an artist who is beautiful inside and out but more out.Think cheerleader and beauty pagents. They meet when Brooke's uncle recommends her to work with Owen on a special trip he is taking in the desert.

I really loved Owen with his brothers and especially with Riley. I loved Riley and so I loved seeing him in this story and how close Own is with Riley. This story was a fun and light read nd I enjoyed it. Not my favorite in the series but definitely enjoyable.

Brooke makes Owen one happy man, "she let out a loud sigh. “Are you sure it’s okay for me to go with you? I don’t want to impose on a family event.” His only response was to smile and grab her hand..." Owen is my favorite Shaughnessy now becuase the man intrigued me, he was just...I don't think awkward is the right word but that's kind of what he was when he was round other people. He was so caring amd giving, you couldn't help but fall in love with him.
