Remy has always come off as the playboy of the SWAT family. He has no intention of settling down with just one woman, how can he when there is a ghost haunting his memories of the past and what he’ll never find. In truth, Remy’s scared, but a big bad wolf won’t ever admit to fear in anything. We learn of his love lost, and it’s painful and explains a bit of Remy’s personality now. But his “one” is out there, he simply had to be in a far different town, on a different mission to find her – or reunite with a woman he once knew long ago. New Orleans is famous for many things, and a wolf probably wouldn’t seem out of the ordinary there – but what Remy discovers goes far beyond the paranormal, it leads straight to danger, certifiable craziness and the one woman who is perfect for him.

Triana is a mystery in many ways. She knows Remy, even had a crush on him back in the day. But as sexy as the man has become she has a mission of her own – find her father’s killer and bring them to justice, one way or another.

Wolf Hunt is an intriguing, sexy story that builds on sexual tensions, fears and a mystery to be solved. I believe anyone who has followed this series knows that a huge war is on the way. This story takes us a step closer. The magic of New Orleans, the finding his “one” and keeping her safe are Remy’s focus. But there is more to Triana, and that adds so many possibilities to this series, ones that I can’t wait to unravel.

If you enjoy Shifter Romance or Romantic Suspense or Paranormal Romance in any form, then Wolf Hunt is a story that you would find fascinating. I suppose you “could” read this story as a stand alone, but it really needs to be read in the order of the series… in my opinion. There are nuances, people and events that will only enhance this story if you’ve followed the entire series. Besides, it’s an amazing, sexy and intriguing series. Expect a solid story, bits of mystery, facing down one’s fears, sexy moments and so much danger now, and foreshadowing of things to come. I was captivated once again and would highly recommend this story and this series.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

M/F Shifter Romance

I really enjoyed this story. Triana and Remy complement each other wonderfully and I liked how they could banter with the other pack members just as easily. I felt that the pack members had an unbreakable bond and despite having so many alphas around, they made it work.

I love New Orleans, so the setting was fun. However, I felt that the pack members didn't really appreciate where they were. Also, I think that if we had been able to see more development between the two main characters, it would have helped the story be less "typical shifter."

The "hot" scenes were somewhat boring and despite the thought that they could have been seriously scorching, these didn't really portray what I thought, could have been an explosive relationship.

Overall, I hope the other shifters get their stories too, who don't have one already.

Definitely more paranormal romance than urban fantasy, this is a fairly predictable shifter romance. This is the first book I’ve read in the series but the tropes are immediately familiar. This story follows Remy, one of a brotherhood of alpha werewolves/SWAT officers. Returning to his hometown of New Orleans with some SWAT teammates, he scents his fated mate and falls instantly in love with her.

A forensic scientist and a former high school friend, Triana is the typical paranormal romance fated mate. She is brave and intelligent but ultimately, she needs Remy’s help and protection when her search for her father’s killer entangles her in Remy’s current vice case. Similarly, Remy could be one of many similar alpha men in any number of paranormal romance books. He has a troubled past. He struggles to accept the idea of a fated mate. He feels an overwhelming urge to protect Triana… Anyways. There isn’t much that makes these two unique. I felt like I’d read these characters many times before. They are both beautiful and good – and a little bit too predictable for me.

There are some explicit sex scenes in this book but the “harder, faster” nature of the first one read as more painful than pleasurable. This, combined with a grocery list style recitation of various sex acts, had me skimming the sex scenes pretty early on. The sex felt more clinical than sensual and I didn’t feel it did much to build Remy and Triana’s relationship.

Ultimately, this is a conventional shifter romance. The main characters are likeable and the tropes are familiar. It is a quick, easy read with some entertaining action scenes.

Paranormal romance is not my preferred genre, but I view it as a fun change of pace. It's not too far off from romantic suspense and in paranormal romance, Paige Tyler is a go to author for me.

When this series started, I was originally really intrigued by it. However, each book of the series started seeming a little too been there done that. This is book #6 and the first half of this book really didn't do anything for me and I was debating whether the series had run its course.

And there I am being bored and thinking re-tread and been there/done that, and then book takes that turn that makes it more interesting. The death of Triana's dad has brought another layer to this series. The werewolf hunters aspect of the series is really intriguing and sets the series up for some good plot potential.

One of the supporting characters that brings something new to the table and is interesting is Gemma, Trianna's mom. Somewhat of a voodoo priestess she could bring some interesting depth to this series and I hope she returns in future books.

Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read an ARC.

In Wolf Hunt, we have a thrilling and on your toes romance that is full of mystery, intrigue, actions and suspense and a fiery hot filled romance that I guarantee will curl your toes. Our exciting story, begins with our hero. The story sets off pretty quickly, and we see Remy working with his partner, to bring down three criminals who are torturing a young family. In the chaos, they end up losing more than they though, because Remy lost the woman he loved, and almost lost his life and found himself to be a werewolf. Now he is working with a team, doing some training exercises, and investigating a crime lord dealing drugs, when he finds himself following a special unique scent, a woman he hasn’t seen in years, a woman he knew in high school and cared deeply for. Triana, works for the medical examiner’s office, and while out dancing runs into the sexiest man she has ever known. These two are practically dynamite together, but there are some ghosts from the past that may keep them from finding their happy ending.

In Wolf Hunt, Paige Tyler overwhelms the reader will sexy romance and a edge of your seat action filled book. And boy did I love the way she wrote this book. It was nice to see a different setting and boy did I love the New Orleans setting. I can never get enough of it, and Tyler did a great job balancing it out with the story and it really seemed to work for this pair especially with the whole paranormal element of werewolves here. I loved seeing high school friends come back together. But there is much more going on than a simple friends to lovers romance. We have a murder mystery going on as well and a dangerous drug crime lord. Triana is investigating her father’s murder, which only draws more attention to her and her mother. Triana has to learn about the truth behind her father’s death, and who she really is.

The characters in this novel are simply fantastic. Lets set our main couple on the side line while I talk about some of my favorite side characters that really made this book come alive. First off is Triana’s mother. She was brilliant and a fighter. She is beyond wise, and deals with a little magic now and then. I like that she understands Triana and her relationship with Remy from the beginning. She has a very unique personality that I was instantly drawn to, very vibrant and even though her husband was brutally murdered, she hasn’t let what happened to her effect who she is or how she treats others.

We do have a true villain in the story as well, he is obsessed, and truly evil at the core and very power hungry. He was downright mentally crazy and he definitely gets what he deserves.

The romance that builds between our two characters is at first seen as a fling, since these two were once friends, and are only in New Orleans for a short time. Triana lives in Houston and Remy in Dallas. So these two aren’t looking for anything permenent, But it soon becomes something more but Remy isn’t as open as Triana is for a relationship. He is still half in love with his dead partner, and doesn’t believe he can open his heart again. So Remy has to learn to fight for what he has found with Triana and not let fear take control. And Triana learns that she needs to fight for Remy, and for what they have together.

This story was such an exciting and thrilling ride, and I adored every moment getting back in touch with this series with a truly fun setting with lively characters and a love story to tempt you to jump into the pages!!!

Ms. Tyler continues on with her SWAT team series in this sixth installment. Strong hero and heroines make her novels exciting and a joy to read. This is continued in this book which has moved from Dallas to New Orleans.

This made for a interesting new location and added some more revelations for Remy and the other members of the pack. They must somehow help take down a drug dealer that also has secrets of his own. Of course there is a HEA with a kick ass heroine.

Received as an arc form Netgalley for an honest review.

Remy Boudreaux is going to New Orleans on loan from Dallas for three weeks. He grew up here and knows all about odd things. While he is out with his buddies in the French Quarter he runs into Triana (he had a crush on her in high school). He knows that there is something special with her but is afraid to move past casual after losing his first love.

Triana Bellamy is sure there is more to what is going on between her and Remy. But what she is not sure. She is home for a break and to see her mother. Triana is also looking into the death of her father.

But as she finds out more about her dads killing, and Remy gets deeper in the New Orleans SWAT department danger finds them. Remy's protective instincts kick in and he has to keep Triana safe. Now he may have to reveal his biggest secret (his wolf) ...and then hope Triana will love all of him.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to more.

WOLF HUNT is the sixth installment to the SWAT series. I’ve been on and off this series for some time now. While I really enjoyed the first couple of books, I have been a little less impressed by the newer ones. Going into this book, I was really hoping for a win.

For me, this book is an okay one. It starts off very well with the opening chapter. I found that I was intrigued by Remy because of the fact that he lost someone who he loved dearly. That was really nice to see in the beginning. But what I didn’t understand is that in the very next chapter, he instantly falls in love with the heroine of this book. I think Triana is a very nice character but the instalove was almost immediate and I found that extremely strange since I expected him to be still hurt over losing his previous lover. I just didn’t see the point of having the two chapters together.

I liked this series because it used to be a good balance of Romantic Suspense and Paranormal Romance. However, I do think that the author has changed things and made it more Suspense oriented. I do feel like the paranormal aspect has taken a backseat and the worldbuilding isn’t as good. Since I do prefer PNR over Romantic Suspense, I’m not sure if I’ll be continuing this series. I feel like the focus has really changed from the first couple of books, which I was a big fan of.

The SWAT Team moves from Dallas to New Orleans for this ongoing chapter. Many of the team have found their "ONE" but Remy Boudreaux feels that his opportunity has passed him by upon the death of his partner on a mission together. While on assignment in New Orleans he runs into an old friend Triana at a night club and forthwith moves to third base with her. .

The story is fast paced with a lot of action. It appears that bad guys are targeting Triana and her mom in the wake of her father's suspicious death. Remy is convinced that his romance with Triana is short term for the duration that he's in New Orleans but fate has other things in store for him especially when he and his team delve into the mystery behind her father's murderer.

Another great read. I enjoy Ms. Tyler's imagination and await the next book in the series with anticipation.

Wolf Hunt is the 6th book in Paige Tyler’s SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series. It’s a standalone but you would enjoy it more by reading the other books first. There is a lot of information regarding these werewolves and their pack that becomes more enriched with every installment. I have read them all and they continue to get better and better which I find to be very impressive, all things considered.

Wolf Hunt is about resident bachelor and New Orleans native, Remy Boudreaux. Remy and a few of his other Dallas SWAT team members are in New Orleans to do some cross training with the NOPD. He stumbles into his high school friend Triana Bellamy who is in town visiting family and friends. As with the other books in the series, we soon find out that Remy and Triana are destined to be together although they don’t know it yet. To further complicate things, Remy and his packmates end up assisting the NOPD with their attempts to take down a known meth drug kingpin. But it doesn’t stop there, Triana has a private detective looking into who brutally murdered her father two years ago. Information comes in from all directions that put Remy and Triana in a tailspin that has a huge impact on their relationship and their lives.

I love how Paige continues to expand the Werewolf lore and creates a different way to look at their existence. The introduction of Triana’s mom, Gemma was a good way to show that the werewolf secrets aren’t held by the werewolves alone. Gemma was a great source of information and I really loved her spirit. Triana had a lot of her mother’s traits and proved to be a very strong black woman too. Of course, it’s always fun to see how the SWAT pack members harass each other like frat boys but will do whatever it takes to keep each other safe. The pack is very big on family and I can appreciate that. They may not always get along but they will defend each other to the end.

Wolf Hunt was packed with plenty of sexual energy as well as some fierce fight scenes. I was drawn in from the very beginning and it was hard to put the book down. Even though some things were predictable, there were still some pleasant surprises. I look forward to see what happens when the next pack member finds “The One.”

WOLF HUNT is a nail-biting, steamy, sexy, fun read. There are so many paths that author Paige Tyler leads us down that it's a wonder we don't get lost. But, never fear we get brought right back to the important things -- love and, of course, werewolves.

Remy doesn't want to fall in love, his first love died the same day he was almost killed and turned into a shifter. He didn't want to go through that again, especially since he partly blames himself for her death. But fate has other ideas and Triana is the "One" for him. I enjoy the raids that we get to join Remy and the team on as they help the NOLA department try to take down a high profile drug dealer.

If you are looking for SWAT hunks, strong, capable women, danger, intrigue, sweet and steamy then WOLF HUNT will bring you all that and more.

Review: WOLF HUNT (SWAT Book 6) by Paige Tyler

Fun, fast paced cat-and-mouse story. The SWAT team once again comes to the rescue in all their glory. Remy had some hang-ups, but he got his head on straight. I loved that it was set in New Orleans and delved a toe into the mystical possibilities of the city. It added a fun edge to it all. Triana was fun, and her reaction to learning about werewolves was realistic. I thought she pushed one investigative scene past her personality, but it worked out and I easily forgave her. I loved it, and can’t wait for the next one.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is not the type of story that I am typically drawn to. I don't really watch cop shows on t.v. either. I just don't really find them appealing. I honestly figured I was going to get rejected for this book, in fact, because I have an abysmal feedback percentage on Netgalley. The folks over at Sourcebooks are clearly very kind souls willing to give people a chance though (and then I go and let them down by posting this nearly a week after release.)

So anyway, this is not the type of story I'm typically drawn to, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The paranormal elements probably contributed to that a great deal because I'm a fan of books that really get my imagination working.

Since I'm not typically drawn to books like this, this is the first book in the series that I've read, and at no point did I feel like I was really missing any pertinent information, well, expect for one small kind of major detail, but it was covered before the book ended. I imagine it would be possible to read this series in any order you may want, although that will likely expose you to some spoilers if you start with later books in the series first, but they'd be things you'd probably already expect from the previous books anyway.

The story is told in first person with a dual POV, and I liked how I got to experience both sides of the relationship personally. It made things a little frustrating for me because I got a double dose of what a dumbass Remy was being, but his perspective was particularly engaging for me to read.

I think my favorite character was probably Triana's mom though. She doesn't play a particularly big role in the story, but I have a deep fondness for voodoo priestesses. And she just had some of the best lines in the book.

Now, the copy of the book I read had several spelling and grammar errors, but it was an advanced readers copy, so most or all of those errors should have been corrected by now. As I have not seen the finished manuscript, I can't say for sure that they were. But since my copy was an advance reader copy, I'm not holding those errors against the book for the rating.

So overall I give Wolf Hunt 4 out of 5 stars.

Wolf Hunt
SWAT # 2
Paige Tyler
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is Remy and Triana's suspense love story. This book has it all, hot sexy alpha males, murder and suspense, shifting werewolves, and a bunch of sexy scenes. This was my first Paige Tyler book and she rocked it. I will definitely looking for more of her books in the future. This is book 6 in this series but can be read as a standalone with no problems. This was great book from start to finish.

A STORM IS BREWING...
Remy Boudreaux is back in his hometown, New Orleans. He's there with three of his fellow Dallas SWAT officers for a week of training with the NOLA PD. On the eve of a tropical storm, Remy and his buddies prowl the French Quarter. One tantalizing scent captures Remy's senses, forcing him to follow until he is face to face with Triana Bellamy—his beautiful high school crush.

After reconnecting, Remy and Triana are close—very. Remy struggles to keep things casual. Ever since his partner—and first love—was killed on the job, he's kept women at a distance.

But when a mysterious wolf pendant ropes them both into danger, Remy's protective instincts kick in. He may have to reveal his true self...and hope Triana accepts him.

Thanks NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

Wolf Hunt takes a few of the Dallas SWAT members to New Orleans to help the NOLA P.D. with training. For Remy Boudreaux though it’s a homecoming, especially when he picks up on an irresistible scent that leads him straight to his old friend and high school crush Triana Bellamy. Even though things between them quickly heat up, Remy is determined to keep things casual but when Triana’s life is put in danger because of a mysterious pendant, Remy sticks closer to keep her safe.

Paige Tyler has fast become THE author I go to when I want a bit of the paranormal to go with a steamy romance, she’s got a team of hunky alpha werewolves that not only work together as a pack but they bring out the funny in each other. It’s like a testosterone filled comedy sometimes and I always look forward to those scenes as much as I do the romance.

Remy just might give Xander a run for his money as my favorite SWAT male (Khaki will forever hold the title as my favorite female cause she’s female, awesome and an alpha!). Remy’s a smooth talking charmer with a healthy dose of wariness when it comes to love because his first love was killed on the job. There was just something so effortlessly seductive about him. I’m telling you, Xander had better watch out!

Triana on the other hand had no idea that Remy was a werewolf. She was just happy to see him again and a little surprised at the intense attraction between them. I enjoyed Triana because she wasn’t some silly girl with mush for brains. She loved her hometown but she also knew that she had to know how to defend herself in any way she could. She was a smart, sassy, fun, and had her own kind of charm that came from being confident in her own abilities.

Wolf Hunt had a lot of the same wit and brisk pace that I’ve come to love about the SWAT series but it was also a little different too. For starters, with everything going on in Wolf Hunt Remy and Triana’s romance kind of takes a back seat which normally would bother me except there is so much excitement and new developments going on that it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment of the story. Then there’s the fact that the story takes place in New Orleans instead of Dallas which exposes the Remy and the three team members that go with him to a new environment. And finally there was more than just the typical drug runners and thieves that Remy and his fellow SWAT members had to deal with: A group of people who know of the existence of werewolves and are hunting them down. As tough as the SWAT guys are, they don’t seem too prepared for a group that may know more about them than they do. It will be interesting to see in what direction Tyler takes the series with this new threat. I know I’m excited to see what will happen, so long as there’s always a member of the SWAT team around I know it will be good. I just love the idea of an all alpha group of werewolves who can work together and live like a family.

Remy was home in New Orleans with three other SWAT officers - Max, Jaden, and Zane. They were all werewolves. Gage was their boss and pack Alpha. He had sent the men to cross train with the local tactical unit- New Orleans term for their SWAT unit. When in a bar with the guys Remy smells a tantalizing scent he can’t resist and started to follow it. His friends followed as he left the bar and started walking down the street . All the other guys denying the had smelt anything special. Then five blocks in and still going Remy realizes the scent is from a female. It was a spicy flowery scent finally Remy found the bar it was coming from. Then he saw her on the dance floor with three other women. Then Remy realized he knew her from HS when she had been skinny and awkward and always looked down on the floor. But they had still been friends but now she was grown up and a beautiful woman. that was Trina but Remy didn’t know if she would recognize him . Remy hadn’t talked to Trina since HS graduation and he had changed a lot when he became a werewolf. He’d never felt anything like he did when smelling Trina’s scent the animalistic urge he had to track her down. Trina thought Remy was the sexiest man she had ever seen. Trina lived and worked in Houston and was home for the week to visit her mom. Remy was drawn to Trina in a way he didn’t understand.
I loved this story . It was great . It had a great plot and great pace. The book kept my attention from the first page until the last and I didn’t want to put it down. I loved how it was more than just a romance but had action and suspense in it. Including all that went with Trina trying to find her father’s killer and New Orleans cops trying to bring down a drug king and all else in this book.I loved the ending and everything about this book and I highly recommend.

As I started reading Wolf Hunt, I realized that I missed the last book of the series, Wolf Unleashed. I have enjoyed this series so I think I missed just because I forgot to put it on my calendar. But if you have read the first book and know the story behind the Special Wolf Alpha Team (SWAT), then I think the other books can be read out of order w/o too much heartburn. The long and short of it is that we have a huge and hunky SWAT team full of alpha werewolves out to protect, serve, and steam up your kindle. Our alphas continue to find The One (their fated mate) at a rate unheard of for their species/race previously. Is this a coincidence, or is something more going on?

Remy Boudreaux has returned to his hometown of New Orleans with teammates in tow to help train the NOPD. They work hard during the day, and party hard at night. But Remy caught a smell his first night back home that he could not ignore, and his nose leads him right to our heroine, Triana Bellamy. Triana is back in town from Houston to visit her mom and girlfriends, but there is a whole lot of lust at first sight happening when Remy Boudreaux walks into the bar. These two have a sweet history involving a doubly unrequited crush from high school so, as a second chance romance, they were able to get hot and heavy really fast without an unbelievable feel of instalove. As a couple they had good chemistry, even though Remy's past made moving the relationship forward difficult.

Unfortunately I had an occupational hazard with this story involving one of the SWAT assignments early on - and it threw me out of the story and made me ranty. I found it difficult to get back into the story after that. I think that if some of the law enforcement aspects were more accurate, then I would not have had the problem. I really tried to ignore it given that we are dealing with werewolves, but it stuck in my head for some reason. I hate when that happens.

I was excited to see that the characters were coming to spend some time in New Orleans. I love a good story set in my city... but I can also be a little picky if its not done right. To do New Orleans right in my mind, it almost needs to become another character in the story. Tyler did an okay job directionally and dropping names for some of the touristy things, but I didn't feel the city come to life. I think if some of the voodoo aspects were more fully developed, that may have helped. Or if our SWAT guys weren't so keen to hang out on Bourbon Street. Most locals won't touch Bourbon with a ten foot pole and, as Remy and Triana both grew up in New Orleans, you would expect him to steer their friends more toward Frenchmen Street or other venues outside of the Quarter.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher, Sourcebooks Casablanca.

This is the 6th book in the series.

The book mostly is about fear in loving again. Remy has a total hang up when it comes to love and it pisses me off. As you read the book, the chemistry between the two was really explosive.

However, there were times that I wanted Remy to stop being an A**. I felt his pain upon losing his lover/partner.But it does not mean that he should shut his window when it comes to love. Triana, I love her. She has this realistic view in life and when she felt Remy slipping away, she had this outlook. Yeah, it hurts, but at least she was not in a denial mode.

What I really enjoy is the mother of Triana. Who would have thought?!

Overall, it was nice, but I feel that there should be more. It was really satisfying when some secrets were revealed. Also, the way each thoughts was said was really good.

"He knew Remy was hiding something for sure. Some of the more mature werewolves in the Pack, like Brooks and Gage, were walking lie detectors."

I rate this 4 stars...well, I do like them!

Wolf Hunt is an captivating paranormal suspense romance by Paige Tyler, and a part of the enjoyable SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team book series.

Due to a devastating incident on the job, Remy Boudreaux almost died, yet he became an alpha werewolf instead. Now, he's temporarily back in his hometown of New Orleans to focus on training with his fellow SWAT officers.

While exploring the town, Remy rediscovers his high school crush, Triana Bellamy. Even though they both act on their immediate attraction, Remy is hesitant about a long-term relationship due to his tragic past and current werewolf lifestyle. As the story unfolds, Remy and Triana are forced to deal with his issues from the past affecting their future, her family secrets and complications, and an important wolf necklace that leads to serious danger.

Since it's the sixth book in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series, it's recommended to start with the first book, yet it's not necessary to read the books in order. I was introduced to this series with the Wolf Hunt, which encouraged me to read the entire SWAT series.

Wolf Hunt is recommended and geared towards those who enjoy reading paranormal suspense romances, particularly stories involving military alpha werewolves.

Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Laissez les bon temps roulez for Remy and a few others of the SWAT team when training brings them to the Big Easy. A high school crush, a voodoo shop, a crime boss, and Remy must bring out the wolf to get the job done.
Review

Wolf Hunt is the sixth installment of the action-packed SWAT series featuring a secret Alpha werewolf pack dedicated to each other and their work as DPD SWAT. If I had one hang up about the last few books, as much as I liked them, they were starting to feel a little same ol’ thing. Well that certainly got addressed with a fresh setting and some filling in and expansion of the werewolf lore in this one.

Remy, unlike the others, has no desire to find his The One after loving and losing, but now that is being confused with a high school crush returned to his life and a second chance for both of them since Triana crushed on him, too. I enjoyed the dynamics of their romance even as I looked for a cool glass of refreshment after reading their smoldering encounters.

The action side of the story was a two-pronged current drug investigation and an older cold case. It was great getting some good SWAT werewolf action.

In summary, I loved how this latest story, Wolf Hunt, breathed new life into the series and look forward to what is to come as the confrontation with the werewolf hunters edges ever closer for the SWAT wolves. If you love a combo of paranormal and romantic suspense, this is a great series to pick up.
