This is a good introduction to the idea of positive discipline. While I feel like the book doesn't really cover anything I didn't learn in education classes in college, I feel as if it's a great introduction to the idea for any teachers out there who didn't have the chance to learn about positive discipline while they were still students.

Found some tools and ideas that I will put to use in my classroom next school year.

I thought this was a very stimulating read. I enjoyed the research based data and suggestions as well as the real world implementation examples that were given. This approach works well with the PBIS model my school has developed for behavior, and since I've started implementing things little by little I've found myself to be more clam as well as opposed to reacting in the moment with my emotions. It has been helpful to consider the kids' emotions instead and to connect with them first and foremost, no matter the situation.

Those familiar with Positive Discipline will see a lot of repeated content in this book. I think it is still a great resource though, especially for new teachers. I liked the way it was organized and easy to grasp.
