My first K.A. Tucker book and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. This one had my head all over and I absolutely loved the characters. While this was my first KA it will NOT be my last!

“Touching and complex…Tucker unerringly hits all the high notes of romance—the spark, the emotional depth, the mental and physical struggles—while creating a couple who seem perfectly attuned even when they are in conflict.” —Publishers Weekly (starred review)

Twenty-four-year-old truck stop waitress and single mother Catherine Wright has simple goals: to give her five-year-old daughter a happy life and to never again be the talk of the town in Balsam, Pennsylvania (population three thousand outside of tourist season).

And then one foggy night, on a lonely road back from another failed date, Catherine saves a man’s life. It isn’t until after the police have arrived that Catherine realizes exactly who it is she has rescued: Brett Madden, hockey icon and media darling.

Catherine has already had her fifteen minutes of fame and the last thing she wants is to have her past dragged back into the spotlight, only this time on a national stage. So she hides her identity. It works. For a time.

But when she finds the man she saved standing on her doorstep, desperate to thank her, all that changes. There’s an immediate connection, and it’s more electric than the bond of two people who endured a traumatic event. It’s something neither of them expected. Something that Catherine isn’t sure she can handle; something she is afraid to trust.

Because how long can an extraordinary man like Brett be interested in an ordinary woman like Catherine...before the spark fades?

I had mixed feelings about Until it Fades. I liked the characters but didn't love them. I kept hoping to connect to them on a deeper level, but it just didn't happen. The pacing felt off at times and there was often so much happening all at once. Catherine's daughter Brenna was a highlight for me and the most memorable part of the book.

Ah K.A. Tucker. The genius who writes some amazing romance and thriller books. I can't get enough!

What would you do if a random night of saving someone turns your life around?

This is what Catherine is going through. She saved a player on a professional Hockey team. Now he wants thank her!

So freaking cute till the very end. Tucker can do no wrong.

I absolutely loved Catherine and Brett's story! I couldn't put the book down. I loved the connection between these two characters. I loved Brett and loved how true Catherine stayed to herself throughout it all. Amazing!!

Last week I was poking around on my Currently Reading list to shame myself a bit regarding the amount of reviews I am perpetually behind when I noticed this selection that I marked back in May . . . and then never actually read.

Since it was a Friday (a day I tend to read fluffier selections in order to kickstart the weekend), I figured there was no time better to rectify the situation and cued it up on the ol’ Kindle. I remembered absolutely zero about what this was supposed to be about, but I seriously LOVED everything about The Simple Wild and just assumed I would have an okay time. That’s 100% what happened to, because this was a boy-meets-girl story right up my alley.

You see, Catherine was just a small town girl – living in a lonely world. Wait, while accurate, plagiarism probably isn’t the way to go here. The leading lady this time around was a young single mother who used to be the talk of the town due to a history with her high school art teacher. Thanks to kindness of a bighearted stranger, Catherine has been able to put her past on the backburner for the past few years while working at the local diner. A fateful encounter turns our local waitress into a hero when she pulls a man out of a fiery car wreck. Not just any man either, but sure-to-bring-home-the-Stanley-Cup Philly fave Brett Madden. And just like in Speed relationships that start under intense circumstances eventually leads to smooch facing and a happy ending.

Obviously this isn’t a real lifechanger of a book. But sometimes????? Sometimes I just want the fairytale.

I really enjoy contemporary romances that are about celebrities. I've always been a sucker for pop culture and following along with celebrity gossip so book of this nature are right up my ally. At the same time though, books like this can be a hit or miss. They're either really good or they're pretty cheesy and not worth the read. So I wasn't sure what to expect going into this story.

I honestly really enjoyed this book. It was really easy to figure out, nothing too complicated, not a lot of conflict but sometimes it's nice to read easy going books like that. Overall, I really enjoyed the story and the characters were likeable and relatable. This is one of those books that I think would make a cute little movie.

This is my first time reading a romance book by KA Tucker. The only other book I've read by her was He Will Be My Ruin (which I loved!). So I knew going in that I'd probably enjoy this book as well, and I did. I couldn't put the book down! I had to keep going!!

What immediately caught my attention about this book was a single mom. Now, I'm a sucker for these kinds of books so I was excited to see what this on was about! It's not a heavy book, it's pretty light and fun to read.

Now, this can definitely be classified as slow burn for sure. I just wanted to push Catherine and Brett together and just say "okay, now KISS!".

Now I'm even more pushing myself to read her other books because I know for sure I'll love those too. I absolutely love KA Tucker's writing and I've heard so many rave that her writing is amazing as well in her others.

I adored this book! I'm gonna be thinking about this book for weeks to come because this is one that won't leave my mind for a while.

K.A. Tucker always leaves me absolutely speechless. Until It Fades captures the devastation, uncertainty, and ecstasy of the human condition and reminds readers what it feels like to love hard. K.A. Tucker is quickly becoming a reliable favorite!

Amy Harmon’s claim of Until it Fades being “a modern-day Cinderella story that will make you hope again” is true.

Until it Fades starts off with a riveting scene that has the perfect mix of shock and dread that will seep through your system and enough to make you curious as to what the repercussions of our dear heroine, Catherine Wright’s actions are. It grabs a hold of you from the get go. K.A. Tucker slowly but surely created a delicious build up with having the early chapters of the book consist of a past to present transitions. Through that format, it shed some light towards the root cause of it all and created a perfect avenue to easily showcase the difference and growth that took place in Catherine’s character: Teen Catherine to Mom Catherine.

In the recent years, Catherine (and her daughter) blended in and quietly built their lives in the small town of Balsam, Pennsylvania. But she just didn’t know that one good Samaritan act from her will once again catapult her into the spotlight – the talk of the town and even in the National news.

On the way home from another failed date, Catherine stumbled across a road accident and managed to save one of the passenger’s life before the car blew up. Without knowing that she saved Brett Madden’s life – a known hockey player. She wished to stay out of the spotlight. But certainly only one can wish when it comes to a situation worthy of the people and media’s attention and even more so – with a situation tied to Brett.

For the most part, Until it Fades tend to be on the predictable and cliché side. But it was K.A. Tucker that made me carry on reading it. I want to know and soak up with how she’s going to let those scenes play out through her words.

Catherine’s teenage life is as messy as one could get. Her impulsive and all-heart driven decisions caused for her to experience a lot of difficulties. Like being called names, tainted, judged wrongly and casted unnerving looks by the people around her. But the things that I admire the most about Cath is how she owned up to her mistakes and stood back up after all the criticisms she received. Time and circumstances enabled for Cath to grow. From a wild teenager who just cares about what her heart feels and wants, Cath was subjected to grow and set her priorities in life straight. Not only she thinks and cares about herself but now she has the thought of her daughter at the forefront of her mind.

The character development of Cath is the gem of this book. Though, I kind of hoped that Tucker dwelled more time to let things settle in during that part towards the end wherein Cath dropped that bomb. It felt like my feels were heightened but doused immediately. I understand her reasoning but it just needed more time (like a chapter or two) for it to be believable and yeah, settle inside the reader’s mind.

Brett Madden, the famous hockey player aka the lucky guy who was saved by Cath from the car accident. I honestly love how grounded, sweet, caring and understanding (and more) he is towards Cath. But the two things that stood out about him were: how he let Cath set the pace for their relationship and how he always included Brenna in his plans. I’m a sucker for books with kids in it and so his interactions with Brenna were a joy to read. I certainly have the heart eyes going on.

From gratitude, friendship bloomed and the slow-burn romance that took place between them – I love. You can feel sparks flying the moment Brett and Cath got acquainted. It’s slow-burn and you’re just anticipating when they’ll give in. I’m so happy that despite the instant connection they felt, they really took time in building their relationship from the ground and up. Mostly for Cath’s part because of her hang ups and complications in life.

As I’m typing this down, I got to ponder on more about Brett. Did his character even possess a flaw? If I remember correctly, there isn’t. He boxed out everything and truly made up the perfect modern Prince Charming. I kind of wanted for him to do something out of perfection – for him to show a flaw since Cath’s were out there in the open. It wouldn’t hurt for him to have, as well. It would only make him more like a true human being.

If you’re up for some real swoony guy character, Brett Madden is the answer. Especially Brett’s gestures towards the end. Everything that he did there was straight out of (or even more) fairy tale books.

This book also touched an issue that is very prominent and timely. How people who come from influential families get to walk away from their crimes easily? Privileged? Ring a bell? I don’t want to talk much about this because I don’t want to spoil you. But there’s a part of the story linked to this and it got me so frustrated how time and time again the person involved gets away from all the evil things he’s been doing. Just like what happens in reality, I guess. I was anticipating for a firmer consequence towards the end of the book but all I got was quite an open ending to it. I hope justice will be served to his victims and he’ll be punished accordingly.

I’m going to stop here now to avoid more spoilers to pour out of me.

Until it Fades is clearly a fairy tale and I don’t know what the chances are for this to happen in real life. Could be impossible? Could be 1 to 1,000,000? Could a guy like Brett Madden exist? I don’t know. We don’t know. But whatever the answer to those questions are, I’m just glad to witness that a character like Catherine can go through such a surreal experience, find happiness through it and learn new things along the way. To hope, be at peace with one’s self and freely share the love in us.

Go grab this book and read it!

When I'm about to meet a new or new-to-me author's writing for the first time, it's a HUGE HIGH. The anticipation ... the wonder ... the unknown ... it's all such a RUSH!!! I finally met KA Tucker's words in Until It Fades, and was WOWED by the depth and dominance of her writing. I REVELED in this story's POWER. ALL-CONSUMING and AWE-INSPIRING, Until It Fades is a Cinderella story that casts a spell on the heart and soul.

I DEVOURED Until It Fades in a day. Hours was all it took to breathe in this book, inhaling the words like air, my feels the fumes that floated around me. This romance is a SLOW BURN and oh did I burn for this book!!! I was CAUGHT as the words pulled me in, CLAIMED by both a brave hero and heroine who I loved right away, and CAPTIVATED by this story that struck my soul and held my heart in its hands.

"Consider this your second chance. A way to redeem yourself, if you feel like you need it."

If you had a second chance at love and life, would you take it? If you made mistakes, would you want redemption? A second chance is a gift to be spent on building a better life, and that's what the fierce heroine in Until It Fades set out to do.

I ADORED and ADMIRED one of the strongest heroines I've ever read in Catherine. Like her Greek name, she is a warrior, a goddess of strength. Catherine puts the 'hero' in heroine, a young woman who made mistakes in her past and lives with them daily, but unexpectedly finds redemption one night when a stranger's life collides with hers. Catherine goes from 'Scarlett letter-stamped' to savior in one night to a strange man who, perhaps, was not her accidental meeting but her fate.

Does he feel what I'm feeling, too? Is his heart racing right now? Or is it just me?

Brett, hot and humble hockey captain, is PURE PERFECTION. I LOVED this alpha with a huge heart!!! This man is a knight in shining armor but his hero is no damsel in distress.

With each encounter between Brett and Catherine meet, it's a collision of chemistry.

I'm having a hard time breathing.

"Tell me you believe me."

"I believe ---"

He steals my last word with his mouth.

I could FEEL their MAGIC, this blend of smolder and sweetness, and it was one POTENT MIX. I morphed into lava, the beauty in these words made me FEEL them too. This prince and princess who have battled the odds need to ride off into the sunset together.

"I've never wanted anyone as much as I want you."

Until It Fades is a fierce FAIRY TALE of FEELS that you can't help but LOVE, a story that steals the heart from the start! KA Tucker instantly moved to my list of TOP AUTHORS. This author is a new top writer of mine, and I'm a fan for life. I can't wait for more by KA Tucker!!!

This Cinderella tale with a twist was my happy, my heart, and my hope. Until It Fades is MAGIC in WORDS, words that MELTED ME. I fell in love over and over again while reading this STARS-IN-YOUR-EYES STORY of strength, survival, and second chances at life and love. I can't stop smiling from this slow burn of a book that rendered me HOPELESSLY SPELLBOUND. I'm still FLOATING ON CLOUD NINE!!!

"It's good to have dreams. Without dreams, we wouldn't have goals. And without goals ... what's the point of living?"

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 'stars-in-your-eyes' stars

A MUST-CLICK ROMANCE!!!

Charming romance about a young single mom who works hard to overcome her problems. She refuses to take advantage of her 15 minutes of fame when it appears.

Normally, I love KA Tucker's books. I have read everyone. However, this one, I wasn't able to get into. I tried to read it, but just couldn't get through it. I decided not to review it on my site or any of the major retailers/Goodreads.

K.A. Tucker is one of those authors that I will read no matter what. I don't need to read the back, or know a thing about the book. I am never let down by her books. Until It Fades did not disappoint.
From the moment you open this book (until you sadly put it down because it ended too quickly!) you fall into a world of amazing characters and settings. It's a place you want to live and people you want to know.
Catherine is a young single mother working to support her family. Brett is an amazing hockey player with a great future a head of him. One night their lives unexpectedly collided. He owes her his life, if he could just figure out who she was. She wants nothing to do with the spot light, but a force pulls them together that neither can ignore. But how long can a famous hockey player love a diner waitress. How long will it last Until It Fades?
I absolutely loved this book. As always KA Tucker doesn't disappoint.

This is my second KA Tucker novel, and while she not a go-to for me, I think her writing style is beautifully done. Until it Fades was what I anticipated and I plan to read more of her work.

I have no words. I haven't had a book hit me in the feels like this from KA Tucker since Ten Tiny Breaths. That's not me saying her others weren't good, they were. But this one packed the punch! This was hands down THE BEST slow burn I have read of 2017 thus far. Get that insta love crap out of here because KA has brought it with Until it Fades.

Brett's characteristics really stick out to me. He brought this book full circle for me. His involvement in Catherine and Brenna's life was absolutely incredible to me. Very realistic and mind opening to me as well. Especially that he embraced them both for who they were with no questions asked. He was just an all around great character.

I also want to talk about the dialogue and conversations between the characters. They were all written so diligently and it wasn't just used as "fillers" within the book. They actually had MEANING, can you believe it? The character interaction basically flowed off of the pages right into my face. That's the good stuff right there.

Secondary characters are a huge plus for me in all books that I read and KA absolutely delivers! I can't pick just one, they all brought a smile to my face at some point in the book. Especially Lou. And Jack. And Keith. SEE! I can't pick just one.

I'm recommending this to every one. I can't think of a single person who wouldn't appreciate this story and fall in love with these characters. And if I find that person they should find a new hobby besides reading.

As I have mentioned before I am a big fan of K. A. Tucker. I have been for many years. Her novels have always had the power to pull every emotion from me and leave me happily spent. It's like I cannot get enough of the exquisite emotional roller coaster ride that I am set for every time I get her book in my hands. And UNTIL IT FADES is no exception. I don't think anyone could have prepared me for how much I would adore this book and it's characters. This Cinderella-like story has my heart and I wish that everyone would read it because of the hope it brings for every one.

What I enjoyed most about this story is it's main character Catherine Wright and when you get introduced to her you realize that she is in the middle of a bad situation that is only going to get worse, and unfortunately for her it does. The scandal that she becomes embroiled in effects her and her family for the rest of their lives....even years later on a dark and foggy night when Catherine saves a man from burning to death in a crash. She wants her heroic act to remain a secret, doesn't want her past coming up to haunt her or her loved ones again, but those wishes are mute when the man she saves wants to thank her for saving him.

What ensues is a relationship that neither one expected but oh my is it the stuff that made my heart beat a step faster and made me sigh in breathless anticipation. I could not get enough of Catherine and Brett. They held my complete attention and I did not want to stop seeing their story unfold before my eyes and it made me the happiest human after many tears.

It is this special talent that K.A. Tucker has in spades. She was able to create these characters that I wanted to know, wanted to root for and wanted to see happy. Catherine was a perfect example of a decent person trying to make the best of what her life was. Then this wonderful man comes into her life and everything slowly changes. It's not the Insta-love that can annoy but the deep-resounding love that comes from a true connection. The slow burning pull between her and Brett is the stuff dreams are made of and the supporting cast was the icing on the cake.

I could go on and on but I really cannot do the book justice. Anyone that is looking for a perfect summer read need look no further because UNTIL IT FADES is the book, the only book you will need. A book that gives us all a little more hope in our lives.

Until It Fades is the story of single mother, Catherine Wright, and her broken and damaged heart. Catherine is a truck stop waitress with a 5 year old daughter, Brenna, who keeps her on her toes. Life hasn't been great to Catherine, the rumour mill and nasty whispers have followed her everywhere for the last 7 years but she's worked hard to provide her daughter with the best life she can.

Brett Madden is a Hockey Superstar and from a very different world to Catherine. They meet under extreme circumstances, Brett is involved in a serious car accident and Catherine pulls him from the burning car and saves his life.

Upon the discovery that the man she pulled from a fiery wreck is Brett Madden she does everything she can to avoid the scrutiny and nastiness of being the town gossip again, Catherine hides her identity from Brett, his family and the world causing more of an up roar than she intended.

Catherine was a brave character but also incredibly scared about moving forward with life. She thinks she's the only one who has moved on from her scandalous past but in reality she is still very much stuck back there which hinders her relationship with Brett. Being the town pariah has taken its toll on her confidence and her relationship with her family. So has her stubbornness.

Brett is the opposite to Catherine in almost all ways. He's confident and not scared to take risks.

Until It Fades isn't just a love story. It's the story of Catherine healing her broken heart not only through her relationship with Brett but also her friends and family. The events that Catherine is involved in are heart breaking but its a true testament to her character that she comes out braver than she thought she was and full of love for Brett, Brenna and her friends and family. I loved watching Catherine grow into her own, her character's development within the story was complex but suited the style of writing perfectly. With Brett's character it was more the relationship development that Until It Fades concentrated on rather than his character. One thing that happened in the book that I thought was important and different to most romance stories was that Catherine was not only the Herione but the Hero. I think it shows a movement in our industry that we need more often. The female lead saving the male leads life.

I adored Until It Fades, I love K.A Tuckers writing style. This was different to the type of story i was expecting but I loved it still. It's unique and heart wrenching and I'm always surprised which I love as well! The writing was emotive and passionate and her writing never fails to make me feel. I laughed out loud, I smiled, I cringed and my heart hurt. Until It Fades was a slow burn sweet romance that had so many feel good moments that made my heart swell with love.

I absolutely loved this story and was perfect for what I was looking for.
KA weaves a beautiful and swoon worthy story of Catherine, a single mother and waitress, and Brett, superstar hockey player who crashed into her life and changes it in ways she never dreamed.

This really was an amazing story. I thought the pacing was good and I fell in love with both Catherine and Brett.

I would’ve liked, was some of the story in Brett’s PoV, but it worked just as well solely in Caths.

The only thing I wish was that it didn’t end. I wanted so much more.

Tucker continues to enthrall with her storytelling abilities. Though she has recently flexed her romantic suspense muscles, it was wonderful to find that her contemporary romance capabilities are still as compelling as ever. This story of a woman down on her luck, having a chance moment to save someone's life and in the process saving her own (and her daughter's), was beautifully told. The characters were expertly drawn, and it came with all the delight and satisfaction that a good cinderella story should have. It was a delight from beginning to end.
