When I read the description of this book a few things stood out to me. First, a single mom, second, she saves his life, third, he is a famous hockey player and last but not least, she has a past! All that together made me want to devour this book, so that's what I set out to do!

Catherine was a great lead. She was tough yet had a vulnerability to her character that I found very endearing. I loved that we were in her head for the whole book, seeing flashbacks from her past and seeing her future was just amazing.

Brett was harder to connect with because this book was truly about Catherine overcoming her past and moving on with her future. He was sweet and had been though a lot and reevaluated his life which brought Catherine into it. I loved who he was.

This is an opposites arrtact romance with a famous hero and a heroine with a bit so good past. I had a lot of sympathy for Catherine and what her past entailed but I feel that it made the story and the heroine that much more amazing. She suffered different things and it helped her become a well rounded person.

This book is what slow burn romance novels should be. Sweet yet intriguing, sexy but savory. It couldn't have been more beautiful. It was one of those fade to black but you can feel the attraction and love, even if the words weren't uttered between the main characters.

My only complaint is that we weren't in Brett's head. I felt that that made it harder to connect with him. The first half of the book revolved about the past and present and as the story progresses, slowly the romance starts to form.

I loved the underlining story that no matter what happens you can always overcome your past. Catherine is proof of that and I think that this book is an very empowering story with a romance for the ages! I would love to see more of them in the future. 4.5 stars #2OCCJD

Until it fades is an amazing novel by K.A. Tucker. It is a contemporary romance which is a change from her last book. It has a fairy tale feel in a real-life situation and it didn’t disappoint me with the romance factor. It’s has a little bit of hockey mixed in but in a way that you don’t need to know hockey. I love the characters that she created and the way she used them to make an interesting and heart warming story. It has a few twists and turns to keep things interesting. The story also had me laughing at times which I love in light fun romances while showing the value of family, blood and non-blood relation. Until it fades is the perfect mix and I will be recommending it to fellow romance lovers.

Living in a small town means everyone knows all there is to know about the other residents, and no one forgets anything. For Catherine Wright that means she's unable to live a peaceful life with her daughter, and move on from the past wildness of her teenage years. Everyone in her small town loves to remind her of her mistakes so she does her best to hide. Which becomes very difficult when she saves the life of Brett Madden, one of hockey's biggest stars, and every news station wants her story. And when the man himself shows up to thank her, there is definitely no hiding from him. Or the passion he ignites in her.

Until It Fades is a slow moving romance but there is so much going on in this story that it will definitely keep you intrigued. It's told completely by Cath's POV and also goes back in time for some parts to explain her past. I'm not a big fan of a story going back and forth but for this book I actually enjoyed it. I felt like getting her story of how she came to be where she was in life was a really big part of her character so it fit well with the book.

I do wish we had more of Brett in the book and more of him and Cath together, but I liked his character from just what we got to see of him. He wasn't some playboy hotshot athlete, he was very sweet and understanding. I loved that he let Cath control the speed of their relationship and was willing to just be friends with her for as long as she needed. He seemed out of his element at times, especially when it came to being only friends with an attractive woman, but it was endearing to see him find his way with Cath and I loved seeing that.

There were a few twists involved in the story too that kept me on my toes and had me invested in this story from the beginning. And every single time I thought I knew everything there was to know, K.A Tucker would shock me again. It was a never ending roller coaster ride that I thoroughly enjoyed. Bottom line, you need to pick this book up and read it as soon as it's available. It has the romance, the mysteries, the sexiness, and even some funny moments, so what else do you need from a book? Seriously, read it!

K.A. Tucker is an author that I have loved for years. She writes books that emerge you so far into the characters and their lives, that you are sad when you finish the book.

Until It Fades was a sweet (almost drama free book) that had me swooning over Brett and Catherine. Plus I loved the addition of Brenna and the way Brett was with her!
After several suspenseful books by KA Tucker, I am glad she got back to writing romance, because I think it where she really shines!

A story of love and second chances is the main theme of K.A. Tucker's new novel "Until it Fades". Families clash and presecution follows as a woman tries to move on from her past and also care for he little daughter.

Cath wants nothing more than to be in the limelight, especially after saving Brett, a hockey player, from a car accident. But his insistence and the sparks that fly between them makes it hard to ignore. This book focused mostlyin the emotional spectrum of the characters, rather than falling in lust with each other. For once, I wanted to read about the reality of a single mother and how hard she struggles to provide for her girl.

There is some kind of fairy tale-ish in the story with its hardships and struggles but K.A. Tucker knows how to satisfy even the most demanding reader. There's nothing I would read from her and not enjoy it. :)
The romance is sweet, the guy's fasmily for ONCE in New Adult don't shun the heroine and there is of course some humorous moments too. "Until it Fades" is one enjoyable read for any lover of the NA genre.

After reading (and enjoying) a lot of K.A. Tuckers romantic suspense, I can wholeheartedly that she does the sweet romance just as good.
Until It Fades was a sweet burn type of love story that moved along at just the right pace to keep me intrigued and engaged. I found myself reading it over the course of an afternoon because I just didn't want to put it down.
I was captured from the very beginning and I found that it was perfectly balanced with the flashbacks of the past that revealed Cath's past bit by bit. And being honest I was a fan of Brett from the very first time he shows up at Cath's door - a really big fan. He was every bit the book boyfriend I was hoping he'd be, never letting my love for him waver... not even for a sentence.

And in true Tucker fashion Cath and Brett were surrounded by a well developed cast of secondary characters.
Well written and well developed, Until It Fades reminded me of all the reasons I was drawn to K.A. Tucker's writing style many books ago.
I cannot wait to add this one to my shelf with all the other five star gems she has written.

A new 2017 Cinderella tale because everyone deserves to experience love and be happy.
It's smooth, flawless and swoon worthy. Very swoon worthy *sigh*.
Just enough suspens to keep you on edge and keeping you from putting the book down.

This has to be my favourite KA book, close with HWBMR. I wouldn't say it was as good as reading it the first time but I have had the butterflies from page one to the very end.reading it a second time. And they were tenfold!!
I also picked up things I hadn't while reading it the first time which makes it even better.
I'm looking forward to reading it a 3rd time once I get the paperback because even though I have highlighted half the book, I'm sure I'll find more beautiful quotes to highlight!

I've said it before and I'll say it a gain, Tucker's books are some of the best!

Tucker's return to contemporary romance is brimming with sweetness. This love story is built on a beloved trope and it'll make any fairytale lover swoon.

With a relatable heroine, and a dreamy hero, Until It Fades is the kind of slow-burn, ultimate fantasy romance that'll have even the most skeptical dreaming of this kind of happy ever after. I loved Catherine and Brett's story, though it was at times frustrating and predictable. It moved at a slow pace, but I think that only made the seduction sweeter, because by the time I read the last word I was sure it was me who saved a stranger on a foggy night and then had my world upended and my heart turned around.

I know authors must follow their muse, and that K. A. Tucker is more often led to suspenseful stories lately, but I have my fingers crossed that she'll be inspired to write more sweet love stories soon.

4.5/5 stars

KA Tucker is one of my favorite authors. So Until It Fades was one of my most anticipated reads of 2017. And it did not disappoint me!

Until It Fades is a contemporary romance. I would categorize it as somewhere in between New Adult and Adult, but it also could be considered Woman's Fiction. It is a standalone. The narrator is 24 year old waitress Catherine/Cath. The book is set in the tourist town of Balsam Pennsylvania, which has a population of three thousand people.

The book takes place in the present (2017). But there are some flashbacks to 2010.

I was completely hooked right from the first chapter. I am not usually a big fan of going back and forth in time. But in this case I was so interested in 2010 that I did not mind at all. Also most of the 2010 stuff is in the first couple of chapters.

The premise: Something happened in Cath's life when she was 17. It was a turning point in her life and it greatly affected her relationship with her family. But there was also a backlash from the community and the town turned against her. Now she's an adult trying to live her life.

Now in the present, Catherine is on her way home from a date when she sees something that ends up being key to the story.

The pace of this book is very different from most books in the contemporary romance genre. It's definitely a much slower pace in regards to the romance. But I actually enjoyed the slower pace.

I really could not put this book down.

I do like contemporary romance. But I don't like predictability. There were actually a lot of enjoyable things in this story, including some twists that I did not see coming.

The things I liked:

Hockey plays an important part of the story. I loved how the author made hockey such a key element in this story. Two of the characters in the book play hockey. And a few others are big time hockey fans. It really worked for the story.

The characters were so unique and well-developed. I was so impressed with the characters in this story. I adored Lou, the lady who owns the diner. I loved actress Meryl Price. I enjoyed Cath's friends Misty and Keith, and her brother Jack. I even enjoyed Cath's parents. Brett was such a lovable guy. And little Brenna was fantastic.

I was really fascinated by Catherine's relationship with her family. I liked seeing what it was like in 2010 and what it was like in the present. Not all families get along all of the time. And sometimes people make choices that their family does not agree with. I really love that the author spent so much time on Cath's family dynamics.

I thought that the small town/tourist town setting was very interesting. I really enjoyed that Cath was from a small town. And found that it worked very well with this story.

The slow pace of the romantic aspect of the story was so unusual. There are no romantic scenes at the beginning of this story. The book takes a completely different approach. There is a lot of character development and plot development that takes over the first half of the book. But there is romance. The author just takes her time to get to it.

I found it interesting that we only get Cath's POV. There are so many books these days that give us dual points of view. But I loved that we only get to see what Cath is thinking and feeling. This is her story and it totally works for this book, IMO.

Overall, this book is a different kind of book for this author. The pace of the romance is very slow. There were a couple predictable events. But I could not put this book down. It was sweet and charming and it made me feel good while I was reading it. There were definitely enough interesting plot points to keep me completely invested in the story. I would highly recommend this book!

*I only read the full book blurb after finishing the book. I hate spoilers and find that so many book blurbs give away too much of the story. I was shocked at how much this blurb gave away. Do yourself a favor and don't read the entire book blurb. I really do not think that I would have enjoyed this book as much if I had read the blurb beforehand.

Until if Fades is a heavy on the sweet, and light on the drama. It's a wonderful story about overcoming your past, really learning who your family is, making the best out of what you have, and love.

Catherine our heroine doesn't understand her over bearing mother, because of an issue that happened when Cat was a teen, their family is not well liked in their sleepy little east coast town. The beginning of the book we flip back and forth via past and present. I really enjoyed the back story, and I was able to feel what Cat was feeling when it came to her parents. When we get to the present chapters we learn Cat is a single mother that is making it the best she can. She is on her own and working as hard as she can to take care of her and her daughter Brenna.

After a horrendous blind date Catherine is witness to a horrible accident. This is where we meet Brett our hero. He is a hockey player with a heart of gold. Handsome, sweet and accepting. Catherine saves our hero from his certain death. They are then thrust together in the spotlight, but does Catherine really want all this attention?

I loved Catherine and Breena's relationship. Breena was precocious and charming. I loved that the romance between Brett and Catherine was slow. They got to fall in love gradually, and the payoff was wonderful. It was refreshing to read about a single mother, struggling to make ends meet. It's a departure from most heroines in romance novels.

I just finished and my heart is so very happy. After all the suspense books it feels a bit like coming home. I adored the romance and this was exactly what I needed. The family and friends made me wish I lived in a small town. The crazy thing about this story was that it seemed like so much happened but it wasn't rushed. Very well paced. I was instantly sucked in and I honestly had no clue what was going to happen. The love was prefect and not just from Catherine and Brett. Families don't always get along but I gotta believe that they would behave like this and come together when calmer heads prevail.
