The author, herself, calls this trope-y. I don't happen to agree with her. Sure, this is a little more conventional than she's known for but she still doesn't go fully trope-tastic. In short, I liked it. I found the story and the writing inviting and welcoming--drawing me in. It took me much longer to read this than it should have, life gets in the way sometimes. Like all of her books, I would recommend this.

I have to say when I first picked up this book, I wasn't exactly sure of what I was going to be getting myself into. However, the cover and synopsis grabbed my attention and boy am I so glad I decided to pick this book up.

Until It Fades follows the story of Catherine and Brett. I was captivated from the moment I picked up this book. I was intrigued by Catherine's story and couldn't wait to learn more. Catherine's story is incredibly well written and will take you on one emotional and heartbreaking journey. Catherine's life is anything but easy, and she will have a lot of obstacles to overcome. Her journey is confusing and beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time.

Until It Fades is a unique coming of age story. I believe that Catherine's character grows and matures quite a lot through out her story. Her story is one of young love and its consequences. It's one of making mistakes and learning from them. Her story is one of hope and doing the right thing. It is a story about learning to not be so hard on yourself. But, mostly, it's a story about forgiveness and second chances.

I admired Catherine so much as I read her story. I couldn't fathom all the things that she had to endure all while living in a small town where your life is essentially on display. I admired her strength and the love she had for her daughter. I loved just how good of a person she was and how as an adult, she really thought about the decisions that she made. And Brett...I wasn't expecting him at all, but I have to say, he came into Catherine's life at just the right moment. He was kind and supportive. He took his time getting to know Catherine and never rushed or judged her. He was just the guy she needed in her life.

Until It Fades was a fantastic read. I was captivated from beginning to end. This story broke my heart, frustrated me and made me fall in love. There were twists that surprised me and had me holding my breath. I honestly couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I had to see how Catherine's story was going to end. And in the end, the journey was so worth the ride. I am so glad I decided to check this book out.

This story started off slow for me in the beginning but things really started to grab my attention not long while I'm cruising into the story and my adoration for this book continues to grow and stays until the very end. A few scenes remind me of Cinderella after reading the synopsis phrase that describes this book as a modern retelling of Cinderella.

I love the building character of Cath, how down to earth she is, how strong and brave she is despite everything that she's been through - both good and bad. Brett is such a nice guy who would look out for everyone and that quality of his is makes him more charming. I'm just really glad that he step up to be a man to fight for what he truly wants. Both for the girl he loves and his passion and love for hockey. The fact that he doesn't give up and lose hope too is so great.

I also enjoyed reading about the sideline characters. Keith, I am both sorry and not sorry that Cath didn't end up with him. Its on him for not confessing his true feelings. Brenna and her million questions on her mind. Its to be expected for a child's mind but it can get a bit annoying. Jack who is always there to brighten up the room. I like him for his hilarity and how great of an uncle he is to his niece. Not to forget his fanboy moments toward his idol.

This book was everything I ever hoped for but more. So much more. Everything from the plotline, the buildup of the story until the climax and ending, there was never a dull moment.

❝Life is too short to do what other people think you should do.❞

I love this author's voice. She speaks to the romantic in me. Whether it is a romantic suspense or contemporary romance, K.A. Tucker brings her "A" game every time!

I think what I love so much about her stories is they "feel authentic". With Until It Fades, Tucker brings us a swoon-worthy romance with a sexy, passionate hero and a heroine who has been through hell, yet manages to maintain her dignity while she fights for a better life.

Now, can we take a second and talk about this cover? Don't you love it? Sorry, I just can't stop staring.

Where was I?

Catherine Wright is our heroine. As a teen, she was taken advantage of. She was ridiculed and kicked when she was down. Now an adult, she has more to fight for than herself. She has an absolutely adorable little girl. As she struggles to put the past behind her and away from her child, one night of heroic proportions, threatens to bring it all up again.

"Brett Madden, hockey icon, and media darling" was out celebrating his recent win on the ice when rounding a corner, the driver of his car loses control. Unconscious and trapped in a car that soon becomes engulfed in flames, he is at the mercy of passersby.

Neither expected to find love that tragic night. Yet, neither can resist the chemistry that pulls one to the other.

The secondary characters shined in this book. From the stoic Lou to precious Brenna to the wickedly wild and funny Misty, Tucker created a supporting cast that helped to round out this story.

❝If this is being smart, then you need to be stupid. Be an absolute idiotic moron. Be like me.❞

When reading this book I became frustrated with Catherine's internal dialogue. I wanted to yell at her and tell her she was being stupid. However, after thinking on it for awhile, I realized, Tucker captured the pain and self-doubt anyone would have under those same circumstances.

A second chance at love, "Until It Fades" will capture the hearts of romantics.

I have read most of K.A. Tucker's work and she never disappoints. I have always loved her writing style and this book is no different. It's a standalone novel about a woman who is thrown into the spotlight once again after saving a NHL player's life. Who happens to be one of the most popular hockey player's in the league since he's incredibly good looking and his mom is also a huge movie star.

I loved Catherine Wright and Brett Madden. Their stories had me captivated from the beginning and I couldn't put this book down. This is a sweet, light-hearted read that has a HEA.

I have been anticipating this book (quite highly) since I heard it was going to be released. Everything about it really just screams my name and it had a serious effect on me. How so? I am now an official fan girl of K.A. Tucker based on this book. It may seem weird to some romance readers, but I haven't read a novel by the author before. But now, I am going to go back and read EVERYTHING. This is a beautiful read and exceeded all my expectations and excitement and I highly recommend it.

Please Note: My full review of this amazing book will be published on my blog and all book retailers closer to or on release date. Thank you!

I just finished Until It Fades by KA Tucker this morning. It sucked me in and I finished it within 24 hours. It is a sweet story that is sort of a different type of book for KA Tucker, as she admits in her acknowledgements.

Catherine has had a hard life. She had something happen to her in high school that made her the talk of her small town. She eventually builds a quiet little life for herself and her daughter that she's okay with. Her relationship with her parents is awkward but at least she now has one.

That quiet life changes after she saves the life of a famous hockey player named Brett Madden. There's talk all around town and when it's finally revealed that she's the hero the press is all over her.

When Brett finally shows up on her door the sparks fly. Their connection is immediate - and I'm not talking insta-love just that spark, you know what I mean. Brett is just the perfect guy. He's considerate and caring and makes sure that Catherine and her daughter are protected.

This book is swoon worthy for sure and you'll love it. There's a few surprises in there but if you are looking for a really good story pick this one up. I believe it's out on July 4th.

Until it Fades (3 Stars)

Catherine Wright is a twenty-four year old single mom with a past she’d like to leave in the past. But living in a small town where everyone knows everyone and everything about everyone, that’s easier said than done. All she wants is give her daughter the best childhood she possibly can. On her way home one night from a disaster of a blind date she comes across a horrible accident not knowing that this one heroic act will turn her life upside down and possibly have her talk of the town once again.
Hockey Golden Boy, Brett Madden, can’t thank the angel who saved his life enough; well, he’d like to but the heroic stranger doesn’t want the police to release her name. When he finally gets her name he wastes no time showing on her doorstep.
Catherine and Brett get to know each and develop a friendship. While it’s no secret to the two of them that they are attracted to each other Catherine is extremely hesitant to pursue a relationship for multiple reasons. While years ago she was the talk of the town, people learning who saved the Hot Hockey Star will make her the talk of the country and that’s attention she doesn’t want. Then she has to consider that she is nothing like the women Brett has dated in the past, she feels he’s probably just infatuated with her because she saved his life. Brett is determined to prove to Catherine that what he feels is real and that they have a shot at a real relationship if she’d just give them a chance.
Any storyline with single parents I’m going to snatch up so what drew me to this wasn’t so much the story line but the single parent component; but I enjoyed it… sweet romance story with friends that turn into lovers. The one thing that didn’t work for me was the flashbacks. At times they seemed so long that I forgot the story was taking place in the present and occasionally the flashbacks seemed to pop up randomly. For the most part…a nice rainy day read.

I have never read a KA Tucker book, now I will read them all. Love this author, love this book!

Nicely written story, although I wouldn't necessarily categorize it as a Romance. Sure, it had romance but it wasn't really the focus of the story. It was more about the resilience and struggle of a single mom than the relationship. More so Women's Fiction than Romance. Still very enjoyable.

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

I love K.A. Tucker's writing and even though I thought this book could have been better wrapped up, I really liked it.

I liked the characters, specially the side ones, and the plotline is good. It's fresh and the writing is also good! For me there were a few lose ends, but overall it was a good one!

When I read the description of this book a few things stood out to me. First, a single mom, second, she saves his life, third, he is a famous hockey player and last but not least, she has a past! All that together made me want to devour this book, so that's what I set out to do!

Catherine was a great lead. She was tough yet had a vulnerability to her character that I found very endearing. I loved that we were in her head for the whole book, seeing flashbacks from her past and seeing her future was just amazing.

Brett was harder to connect with because this book was truly about Catherine overcoming her past and moving on with her future. He was sweet and had been though a lot and reevaluated his life which brought Catherine into it. I loved who he was.

This is an opposites arrtact romance with a famous hero and a heroine with a bit so good past. I had a lot of sympathy for Catherine and what her past entailed but I feel that it made the story and the heroine that much more amazing. She suffered different things and it helped her become a well rounded person.

This book is what slow burn romance novels should be. Sweet yet intriguing, sexy but savory. It couldn't have been more beautiful. It was one of those fade to black but you can feel the attraction and love, even if the words weren't uttered between the main characters.

My only complaint is that we weren't in Brett's head. I felt that that made it harder to connect with him. The first half of the book revolved about the past and present and as the story progresses, slowly the romance starts to form.

I loved the underlining story that no matter what happens you can always overcome your past. Catherine is proof of that and I think that this book is an very empowering story with a romance for the ages! I would love to see more of them in the future. 4.5 stars #2OCCJD

Until it fades is an amazing novel by K.A. Tucker. It is a contemporary romance which is a change from her last book. It has a fairy tale feel in a real-life situation and it didn’t disappoint me with the romance factor. It’s has a little bit of hockey mixed in but in a way that you don’t need to know hockey. I love the characters that she created and the way she used them to make an interesting and heart warming story. It has a few twists and turns to keep things interesting. The story also had me laughing at times which I love in light fun romances while showing the value of family, blood and non-blood relation. Until it fades is the perfect mix and I will be recommending it to fellow romance lovers.

Living in a small town means everyone knows all there is to know about the other residents, and no one forgets anything. For Catherine Wright that means she's unable to live a peaceful life with her daughter, and move on from the past wildness of her teenage years. Everyone in her small town loves to remind her of her mistakes so she does her best to hide. Which becomes very difficult when she saves the life of Brett Madden, one of hockey's biggest stars, and every news station wants her story. And when the man himself shows up to thank her, there is definitely no hiding from him. Or the passion he ignites in her.

Until It Fades is a slow moving romance but there is so much going on in this story that it will definitely keep you intrigued. It's told completely by Cath's POV and also goes back in time for some parts to explain her past. I'm not a big fan of a story going back and forth but for this book I actually enjoyed it. I felt like getting her story of how she came to be where she was in life was a really big part of her character so it fit well with the book.

I do wish we had more of Brett in the book and more of him and Cath together, but I liked his character from just what we got to see of him. He wasn't some playboy hotshot athlete, he was very sweet and understanding. I loved that he let Cath control the speed of their relationship and was willing to just be friends with her for as long as she needed. He seemed out of his element at times, especially when it came to being only friends with an attractive woman, but it was endearing to see him find his way with Cath and I loved seeing that.

There were a few twists involved in the story too that kept me on my toes and had me invested in this story from the beginning. And every single time I thought I knew everything there was to know, K.A Tucker would shock me again. It was a never ending roller coaster ride that I thoroughly enjoyed. Bottom line, you need to pick this book up and read it as soon as it's available. It has the romance, the mysteries, the sexiness, and even some funny moments, so what else do you need from a book? Seriously, read it!

K.A. Tucker is an author that I have loved for years. She writes books that emerge you so far into the characters and their lives, that you are sad when you finish the book.

Until It Fades was a sweet (almost drama free book) that had me swooning over Brett and Catherine. Plus I loved the addition of Brenna and the way Brett was with her!
After several suspenseful books by KA Tucker, I am glad she got back to writing romance, because I think it where she really shines!

A story of love and second chances is the main theme of K.A. Tucker's new novel "Until it Fades". Families clash and presecution follows as a woman tries to move on from her past and also care for he little daughter.

Cath wants nothing more than to be in the limelight, especially after saving Brett, a hockey player, from a car accident. But his insistence and the sparks that fly between them makes it hard to ignore. This book focused mostlyin the emotional spectrum of the characters, rather than falling in lust with each other. For once, I wanted to read about the reality of a single mother and how hard she struggles to provide for her girl.

There is some kind of fairy tale-ish in the story with its hardships and struggles but K.A. Tucker knows how to satisfy even the most demanding reader. There's nothing I would read from her and not enjoy it. :)
The romance is sweet, the guy's fasmily for ONCE in New Adult don't shun the heroine and there is of course some humorous moments too. "Until it Fades" is one enjoyable read for any lover of the NA genre.

After reading (and enjoying) a lot of K.A. Tuckers romantic suspense, I can wholeheartedly that she does the sweet romance just as good.
Until It Fades was a sweet burn type of love story that moved along at just the right pace to keep me intrigued and engaged. I found myself reading it over the course of an afternoon because I just didn't want to put it down.
I was captured from the very beginning and I found that it was perfectly balanced with the flashbacks of the past that revealed Cath's past bit by bit. And being honest I was a fan of Brett from the very first time he shows up at Cath's door - a really big fan. He was every bit the book boyfriend I was hoping he'd be, never letting my love for him waver... not even for a sentence.

And in true Tucker fashion Cath and Brett were surrounded by a well developed cast of secondary characters.
Well written and well developed, Until It Fades reminded me of all the reasons I was drawn to K.A. Tucker's writing style many books ago.
I cannot wait to add this one to my shelf with all the other five star gems she has written.
