This is the first book I read by K.A. Tucker and I LOVED it! It was such a heartwarming, uplifting, sweet book. A modern day Cinderella story, but with a twist.

One thing I especially loved was that Tucker really allowed the reader to get to know Catherine. With flashbacks to the past, you get to be inside 17/18 year old Catherine’s mindset. I did feel this helped me understand why her character made some of the decisions she did, in the past as well as the present. I was definitely rooting for her to succeed, as well as to get her HEA.

Brett. Sigh. I loved his character. He was such a stand up guy. Genuinely nice and thoughtful. I liked that he wasn’t an overtly “alpha male.” In fact, I didn’t actually classify him as one at all. He honestly seemed like a normal guy I’d meet in real life. Other than the fact that he is a famous hockey player and extremely wealthy of course.

There was one particular twist that I didn’t see coming. Tucker did a masterful job at surprising me. I tend to believe I figure things out sooner, or at least see possibilities, but I honestly didn’t with this one.

Catherine’s life is far from perfect. Even though she does get her HEA (hopefully that isn’t a spoiler… I mean, it is a romance book so a HEA is pretty much guaranteed), not everything in her life is picture perfect at the end of the story; and I actually liked that. Not all her relationships were resolved or patched up. That made the story seem more relatable, and I really appreciated that.

Some stand-out characters for me were definitely Lou and Leroy, as well as Brett’s dad Richard, and of course Brenna. I also really liked Catherine’s close relationship with her brother Jack. There were honestly so many wonderful things and characters in this story I could go on and on.

This is the perfect read to enjoy anywhere and anytime. I wanted to start from the first page again, as soon as I had read the last. Highly recommended to everyone, especially those of you who are a sucker for a good romance novel.

I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Catherine had a moment of notoriety in high school and still lives with the scars. She strives to keep her head down, raise her daughter, and work hard. On her way home from yet another lackluster attempt at dating, Catherine finds herself acting the good samaritan, saving a man’s life. She doesn’t know who the man is at the time, and she couldn’t predict the ways her actions will change her life.

Brett Madden, hockey star, was lucky to survive the accident. He struggles with the recovery process and just wants to thank the woman who saved him, if he can track her down. She doesn’t want to be found, but he needs to meet her to continue on his road to health.

I loved Catherine’s whole take on learning Brett’s identity. She was so scarred from her previous media attention that she doesn’t want anything to do with the reporters, cameras, and attention that will swarm if her identity is revealed. As readers learn more about her past experience in the media spotlight, her reticence and standing in the community make more sense.

Brett is an interesting mix of confident, caring athlete and wounded, scared victim. He is used to being in control and getting what he wants. He is also one of those guys who is a genuine caretaker. He struggled with the changes and uncertainty he faced due to the accident and I loved watching him find comfort with Catherine and her daughter.

There were times this story felt a little on the long side. But once the two characters had their fateful meeting and Brett’s recovery began, I was hooked on the story. Even once they met, things didn’t move quickly between them. Catherine is much too set in her individual ways to fall for a man, even one with as many resources as Brett. I loved watching as they learned to lean on one another and even turn to the other in crisis situations.

I both loved and loathed certain of the side characters. Each person in Catherine’s life has their own agendas for the way they interact with her, and I couldn’t help but be surprised by some of the things we learn about the surrounding situations and characters. As the story continues to unfold and past scenes paint a better picture of what happened and why, I found myself fully engrossed in Catherine and Brett’s present.

This was a long, slow burn of a book. It pulled me in and kept me chasing after those missing pieces I knew had to be just out of reach. It felt a bit lighter than some of the author’s other works, but part of that was the additional of Brenna to many of the scenes. This was a great piece about moving beyond the past, facing challenges, and learning to trust.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I'm still fairly new to the KA Tucker train. I read He Will Be My Ruin last year and fell in love with her writing. She immediately became one of those authors who I knew I would read anything and everything she wrote. Until it Fades is only the second of her novels I've read, and while it's a completely different genre than the previous, I loved it just as much.

Brett and Catherine come from different worlds and only come together in the wake of tragedy. Catherine Wright is no stranger to the spotlight and bad press after a scandal during her teen years that rocked her small town. But getting involved with the famous hockey star, Brett Madden, brings a whole lot of publicity that she's not sure she can handle. Not to mention the old scars and possible secrets that could be dug up. But she can't deny the sparks between them for long, especially when Brett is so determined to be a part of her life.

Until it Fades is a sweet modern day cinderella story with a whole lot of heart. It's a story that will give you all the warm fuzzies and leave you just feeling really good inside and believing in fairy tales again. This is a perfect read for the summer and definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a light, heart warming read.

As a long time K.A. Tucker fan, I really felt like I knew what I was getting into when I picked up Until It Fades. Fortunately, my imagination has nothing on the reality of this book.

First of all, I have to say that Until It Fades has a vulnerability to it that you won't find in any of Tucker's other books. It was intriguing and completely captured my heart from the beginning.

Catherine has been run through the wringer, but she's come out smarter and stronger for it. I love how independent she is. When you've had no one to rely on but yourself, it's hard to let others step in and help you. For Catherine, there is also a certain amount of pride as well, but she puts all of that aside to make things better for her little girl.

I think Tucker thoroughly captures the essence of a seventeen-year-old in love during the flashbacks. Emotions run high and everything seems 'life or death' when you are young. and these little bits of the story bring these feelings back in grand fashion. They also slowly reveal what Catherine has been through and let you know little by little why she makes some of the choices she does.

Brett Madden is a great character. He is confident and kind. He is gentle and generous. I love how quickly he accepts Catherine and all the past baggage she comes with. He is the perfect balance to Catherine. He pushes her and stretches her and literally makes her dreams come true.

This book is about romance, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many great relationship stories happening in the background of this book. Brett and Catherine are obviously the focus of the book, but the story also shows how Catherine repairs the relationship between herself and her parents. Catherine has some great co-workers who teach her how friends are supposed to love each other, something that she lost in all of the drama in her past. Because of their kindness, Catherine is able to put away the bitterness that could've consumed her.

I feel a bit like I'm rambling, but I just loved so many different things about this book.

As I said, I've read Tucker's work in the past, but Until It Fades comes with something extra special that has secured it as a Favorite Read.

Until it Fades by K. A. Tucker is an NA, contemporary romance, Cinderella story.

Catherine has had a really bumpy road to walk. Her path changed drastically in high school, and since that time, she's been a truck stop diner waitress, making enough to take care of things as best she could. Brett is a star, literally. A hockey god. Every knows him, well everyone except Catherine. But all of that changes when she saves his life.

Some stories just light you from the inside, making your heart full of hope and joy. This was Until it Fades. I love stories with an underdog. But what was most mesmerizing about this story was that the assumed underdog, Catherine, was one of the strongest female heroines. She did everything she had to do to make an upstanding living for herself and her daughter. She fought ridicule and hatred, even from those closest to her, and emerged as a better person. The night she met Brett changed everything. Brett was such a inwardly strong and outwardly sexy guy. His protection of Catherine was an immediate draw for me. I was definitely the fan sitting in the stands hoping that these two would live out the fairytale that seemed to have touched their lives. All of this was surrounded by the quaint feel of a small town and family and friends, which made for a backdrop that was dreamy.

Until it Fades was a sweet and slow burn romance novel that cast a spell on my heart.

Until It Fades is something a little bit different from one of my favourite authors. I don't really know how to express the ways in which it is different other than to say it is 'lighter'. Although Kathleen tackles some sensitive issues within the narrative the overall feeling is one of optimism, hope and the fairy-tale happily ever after.

Catherine struggles with her relationship with her mother growing up, often rebelling and pushing her boundaries in order to feel in control of her own life. Unfortunately, as a teen, Catherine lacked the maturity to view specific events with a wider viewpoint instead of the narrow perspective resulting from a lack of life experience. Events transpire pushing Catherine's life in a  completely different direction than the one she had been dreaming about.

Until It Fades shows how small towns and public perception can act as judge, jury and executioner; where authority figures manipulation their position to achieve the results they want. Sadly, victims are left with the blame and ostracised by the people who should have offered them the support they deserve.

Catherine is such a strong character; her tenacity and determination propel her forward when others would have crumbled under the weight of the consequences of her actions. Finding support in unlikely places and holding onto her compassion, Catherine is determined to make her own way in life, taking ownership of her mistakes and making the most of the life she has been given.

Catherine's world is upended when she saves the life of a famous hockey player. Bringing her into the spotlight she has been desperate to avoid since the incidents that changed her life six years previously. Dragging up the events of the past, however, due to the positive nature of the current situation, public perception of original circumstances is brought into questions as well as a few surprising revelations.

Sparks fly between Catherine and the NHL superstar, Brett, although they can't help but question whether it is the accident that has heighten their emotions or whether it was destiny that brought them together. While the romance is fast paced, it is believable and very swoon-worthy. It is as if the car accident was the catalyst required to ensure Brett and Catherine were brought together, they quite simply fit perfectly. Although their relationship isn't without it's challenges, it has the feeling of being destined. The characters are the heart of Until It Fades.

Until It Fades just adds to my adoration of Kathleen's writing ♥

I've been missing K.A. Tucker's writing so very much. I was thrilled to find out she was releasing a new romance novel and I was even happier when I got an early copy of it. Of course, I got it so long ago that I didn't even dive right in immediately because I wanted to wait until closer to release before I read it. I managed to hold off until April before my willpower ran out. Haha.

Y'all know I love the famous person and regular person trope. (When done well.) When mashed up with the single parent trope, one that's becoming a new favorite, it worked perfectly for me. I really liked Catherine. I admired her strength and determination. Life isn't easy for her for a number of reasons, but she did what she could to give her daughter the life she deserves. When she saves a man from a burning car, she was fearful of her past being dragged back in the spotlight and, if there's one thing she doesn't want, it's *another* fifteen minutes of fame. Hockey player/son of a movie star, Brett, wasn't going to let the person who saved him go so easily though. Brett? SUPER swoony, sweet and down to earth. I adored him.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was easy to cheer on Catherine, even when her own doubts got to be too much for her, and swoon over Brett. Things might've been complicated between them — and there seemed to be obstacles at every turn — but I loved them together. Even when Catherine feared that Brett was mistaking gratitude for attraction, I knew better. What was building between them was real and I couldn't wait to see Catherine drop her walls and let him in.

Until It Fades was a fun book with a wonderful story and great characters. It was lighter and less-angsty than her other books and I enjoyed the switch up. (Not that I don't love her angsty books, too.) I still got my feels though. :) It was sweet and romantic and sexy. It's definitely going on my "reread in the future" book list.

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

FAVORITE QUOTES

"I don't think you're shallow. I just think you're caught up and the feelings you have for me won't last. And I'll be the one hurt when you finally figure that out."

With Brett... I wouldn't fall in love, I'd plummet.

"Its' good to have dreams. Without dreams, we wouldn't have goals. And without goals... what's the point of living?"

"I have never wanted anyone as much as I want you. Not even a fraction."

Love KA Tucker's books and her newest one does not disappoint. She tells a story that will have you wondering what will happen next and if what you least except in life will become reality. You cheer for Catherine the whole book and hope that she will finally find what she is looking for and not give up on herself. Brett will steal your heart from the first moment you meet him and will have you rooting for him the whole book. If you are a KA Tucker fan this is a must read!!!

Catherine Wright has had a difficult couple of years. She had an affair with her art teacher when she was 17 and he was 30, she became pregnant at 18 with no where to go, no job and no help from the father and now at 24 she is trying to make ends meet by waitressing at Diamonds and taking care of her 5 year old, Brenna. But one fateful night after a disastrous blind date she is thrown into helping a man out of a burning car and thus changing her whole life.

Brett Madden is one of the best hockey players in the league and wouldn't be here today if not for the help of a Good Samaritan who pulled him out of a burning car. When he finally learns that the samaritan was Catherine, he cannot wait to meet her and tell her how much he appreciates what she did.

Catherine has tried to stay under the radar ever since the scandal about her affair with her teacher came out and when she finds out she saved one of the best NHL players, her whole left is about to come into the spotlight once again. And when she finally meets Brett she is instantly attracted to the man she saved, but refuses to let that change anything.

As they spend some time together Brett can't stop his attraction to Catherine and when he tries to broach the subject with her she refuses to give it a chance. She can't believe that a guy like him would like a girl like her, who has had some much happen to her and who also has a child.

Brett continues to show Catherine that they need to give each other a chance a see where it will lead. Hoping she will not only take a chance on him but also a chance on herself.

Will Catherine be able to see past all the reasons why they shouldn't be together or will she continue to live life without taking chances and without stepping outside her comfort zone?

*thank you to the author and publisher for providing an arc*

Catherine thought she was in love with her thirty-year old art teacher when she was seventeen. Her mother dragged her to the police and made her make a statement when she caught them sneaking off together. Her reputation was dragged through the mud and Catherine’s teacher let her take all the blame, crushing her heart in the process. Six months later, Catherine finds herself eighteen, pregnant and with very little job options seeing as most in town shun and whisper against her. My heart went out to Catherine, because her mother threw her under the bus and she was ostracized by the town when it should’ve been her lecherous art teacher who got in trouble! I was outraged for her! At any rate, Catherine let her dreams of going to Art College and now works as a diner waitress to support her and her five-year old daughter.

Catherine’s love life leaves something to be desired which is why she’s driving herself home after a blind date gone wrong on the stretch of highway that Brett Madden, a famous hockey player, has just crashed on. Seeing the wreck, Catherine stops and saves Brett, but won’t let her name be released to the press or Brett in an attempt to stay under the radar. She’s had her brush with fame or infamy and doesn’t want any more attention. It’s only a matter of time before Brett and the press gets a hold of her name. Brett is grateful, of course, but there’s an immediate connection and attraction. Is it just the gratitude drawing him to her or could it be something deeper they both feel? Catherine trusted those swoony feelings before and was burned, so she has a tough time letting her guard down.

I totally understand where Catherine was coming from; she went through so much at such a young age with little support from anyone except Lou, Misty and Keith. I would feel the need to be cautious, too, but it was a just a tiny bit frustrating in a few spots. I was irritated Catherine kept letting her relationship with Brett stagnate to the point he might move on. I so desperately wanted some happiness for Catherine romantically, that I wanted to shake her a few times. But, she really deserved to be swept off her feet after everything she went through. Brett, on the other hand, was an absolute dream come true. He was so steady, honest and humble in spite of being such a big star and a total hunk!

There wasn’t a ton of angst which I’m not real keen on, so good news for me, but Until It Fades wasn’t my favorite K.A. Tucker story. Still, it was a feel good, fairy tale sort of sweet romance that’ll leave you happy in the end.

Call me a softy, but Until It Fades really tugged at my heartstrings. Having read a lot of romantic comedies and erotic books lately, it was refreshing to read a story that has a little more depth to it but still retains the romantic elements that I enjoy.

Catherine is a young single mom who endured a crushing scandal in her small hometown. I appreciate a strong female character, and this independent and determined survivor, who never felt sorry for herself, won me over from the beginning. Her four-year-old daughter Brenna is absolutely adorable and a bit too observant. At times it creates frustration for Catherine and humor for the reader.

When Catherine saves Brett’s life, she has no idea he is a famous athlete and is unprepared for the media frenzy that follows. She prefers to remain an anonymous good Samaritan rather than have her painful past dredged up by greedy reporters. She wants no accolades or monetary support. I can never understand why heroines reject gifts from rich people who can easily afford to give them. Only in books. In real life, if I was driving a beaten up sedan held together with duct tape, I would gladly accept a shiny new car, but maybe that’s just me. In Catherine’s case, her pride gets in the way.

So Brett. Insert huge dreamy sigh here. Let me think of one major flaw. Nope. I’ve got nothing. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” Given all the pressures, pain, and uncertainty, post-accident Brett was fascinating to me. I was anxious to see how he would measure up.

There’s a diverse group of characters that bring even more dimension to this heartwarming story. I enjoyed every single one of them, but my favorite supporting character is Lou. She’s the owner of the diner where Catherine works, and is a wise, no-nonsense, caring surrogate mom to her.

This story is engaging, touching, and sweet. It’s swoony without being too steamy. Some may find it too “fade to black,” but I was satisfied. It reminds me of the romance stories that made me fall in love with the genre, and for that alone it’s a winner in my book.

Catherine is a 24-year-old single mother working in a truck stop and barely getting by financially. She is driving home from a disastrous blind date one night when she comes across an accident. The driver is dead but she is able to pull the passenger out of the car before it explodes into fire. Because the passenger turns out to be a professional hockey player named Brett, there is a lot of media attention. Catherine had been part of a scandal in the town when she was seventeen and doesn't want to draw attention to herself or her daughter.

When Brett meets Catherine to thank her for saving her life, they become friends and then more. But Catherine's life is very different Brett's. She's living paycheque to paycheque with government assistance. Money and media attention has never been an problem for Brett since he is a hockey player whose team is in the playoffs.

I've read a few books by this author. This is a departure of style for her (not as intense) and I liked it. I liked the story and the writing style. It's written in third person perspective with a focus on Catherine. As a head's up, there is swearing and adult activity.

I liked the characters. Catherine has had to endure some hardships ... raising her daughter as a single mother with very little money. She had just gotten back to having a relationship with her family (there was a riff because of the scandal seven years ago). Despite having a privileged childhood (his mother is a famous actress) and now being a star hockey player, Brett wasn't pretentious or annoying. He seemed pretty down to earth and valued honesty.

This was my first K.A. Tucker book so I really didn't know what to expect but after reading the blurb I was really intrigued and I wanted to know more about it. Well, I can tell you that I ended up loving this book and everything about it.

First of all, I loved the characters. The main character, Cath, was such a great girl. She did a few mistakes in her past that ended up putting her in a difficult situation but she grew and she tries to have the best life for her and her daughter Brenna. I love how hard-working Cath is and how much she cares about her daughter and her family, even if her relationship with her family wasn't always the best. Her life is not the easiest since she is a single mom and raises her kid alone but she does the best she can. Brett was also a great guy. Unlike Cath, he always had an easy life. He comes from a rich family and always had everything he needed. He was also an amazing hockey player. But while he had an easy life he struggles a lot with his accident and that might bring to his future and he career. But as I said, he was such an amazing guy. I love how much he helped Cath (and how much she helped him). To be honest, their relationship was the cutest thing ever. I love how they start as friends and only have something else when Cath is sure of it. They also an amazing chemistry and that always helps a lot. Another plus in this book was Brett's relationship with Brenna. They were the cutest thing ever.

Another thing I really enjoyed in this book was that it wasn't all about Cath and Brett. I loved how important their families and friends were in their story. Brett's parents and Cath's boss were awesome and it was impossible not to love them.

Since this was my first K.A. Tucker book I didn't really knew what to expect from the writing but I loved it. Also, while this book is told only from Cath's POV I still enjoyed how the author included some flashbacks so we could understand a little bit better what happened in Cath's past... even if I wasn't expecting some things to happening.

Overall, this was a great book. I loved everything about and I definitely recommend this to everyone else who loves some romance. I can't wait to read more of K.A. Tucker's books and find more awesomeness.

Until It Fades came to me at the right time. I needed something sweet and it hit the spot perfectly.

Just like K.A. Tucker says in her acknowledgments, this romance is different than her prior work. I was a little worried I wasn't going to love it. Sometimes when an author changes her style, it doesn't work for me. I'm glad this wasn't the case. I fell in love with the characters and I couldn't wait for them to be together.

Catherine Wright made some terrible choices. As a teenager, she fell in love with her art teacher who's a lot older than her. When their latest rendezvous is discovered by her mother, she's forced to go to the police to accuse him. She, later on, recants her testimony and she becomes the pariah of Balsam, Pennsylvania. She's not the only one affected by her actions, her parents and younger siblings suffered too. Soon after, Catherine leaves her family home to distance herself from her family and her mother's recriminations. She seeks a new job as a waitress but she has a new complication. She's pregnant. Fast forward seven years and Catherine's still at the same job but her daughter Brenna is a happy kid despite them not having much money. Catherine is talking to her parents again and her mother helps her with babysitting on weekends while she's working. However, fate has plans for Catherine. In the blink of an eye, she's faced with a horrible car accident. One of the victims is still alive. She tries to help him but he's big and heavy. When the car ignites, she knows she's running out of time but leaving him is not something she wants to do.

Brett Madden is a famous hockey player. Some say he might be the best there is. He's also the son of a famous beloved actress and the spotlight loves him. He's not sure how he survived the car accident that took the life of his best friend but he's very grateful to the person who saved him. He wants nothing more than to meet his savior. When he finally learns it is a woman who pulled him out of the Corvette, he wants to see her to thank her in person. When he does, he feels an instant connection to Cath. He wants to get to know her better but she has created huge walls around her heart. Also, the reporters who have descended on the town trying to find more about the good Samaritan, are making Cath's life difficult. Brett will do whatever is necessary to make her life easier even if it means stepping away.

At the beginning of the novel, I wasn't sure I was going to like Cath. She was selfish and rude but with time and life hitting her hard, she matures into a very nice person. She's a hard worker, a good mother who wants the best for Brenna and who wasn't going to let a man hurt or use her again.

Brett was too good to be true. It's true. Still, I couldn't help but fall for him. He was sweet, attentive, and patient.

Overall, Until It Fades made me happy. I enjoyed reading it. Cath deserved happiness and Brett was there to provide it. The only thing missing was a big epilogue.

Catherine until she was sixteen was a passionate and inconsequential teenager who ended up making a mistake that transformed her whole life and her family too. Now seven years later, she just wants to give her daughter a decent life and be invisible to the prejudiced people in the city where she lives. The night she saves a guy involved in a serious car accident, she has her life radically transformed again for good this time . But she does not want to be featured again.

The boy Catherine saves is nothing more than a famous hockey player, Brett, who was going to a party with a colleague and friend who was not as fortunate as him to survive this tragedy. He does not content himself with not being able to thank personally for his life to whom saved him and does everything to find out who his heroine is.

Their reunion is both exciting and the sparkling of passion is almost instantaneous which creates a confusion of feelings in both of them, making them refuse to admit what they feel for each other. Meanwhile the media are crazy speculating who this heroine is and what she does and begins to investigate her life leaving Catherine worried about what can happen to her and her daughter.

The book is very well written with every situation set in the right moment to culminate in a surprising and beautiful ending. It is a typical modern fairy tale with all the elements that characterize this genre, from the enchanted prince, villains, heroin, fairy godmother, the special magic of love , everything is solving the problem with a beautiful lesson and discreet criticism of the initial situation and Suffering of the protagonist in the past.

Speaking in the past, what in the course of reading I have confirmed is that the book is about overcoming and growing Catherine having the romance as background to show everything that happened to her in the past as in the present. It is narrated in the first person only by the girl which gives more strength to my thinking even more when you look at this bright and illuminated cover that shows well that the main focus is girl.

Highlight for me was mainly:
- Catherine's friend, Keith, another passionate prince who I hope to have a book for him too;
- the couple who take good care of Catherine, Lou and Leroy;
- and her daughter Brenna who is such a curious and entertaining figure that puts her mother in embarrassing situations at various points in the book.

Highly recommended

This was such a sweet love story. It had a slow and steady build up. It had a swoony, sexy hockey player and a struggling single mother. The attraction was undeniable. The chemistry could melt your kindle. The story will have you feeling all the feels. This was a true slow burning love story. This author is known for her angsty stories but this was less angsty and more swoony and sweet. You won’t want to put this one down.

I just loved the feel of this book. The writing was smooth and flawless. The story was captivating. The characters were real. Everything just flowed together into this perfect romance book.

My first read from Tucker was He Will Be My Ruin and I absolutely loved it.  I knew from the moment I started reading it that I jut enjoyed her writing style and would read more from her. So when I saw Until It Fades, I gobbled it up. While I haven't read all her books, it's clear that Until It Fades, is different for her and I'm actually glad she did it. It's lighter-hearted and full of love and ultimately happiness. Sure, there are struggles but the resounding picture is the epitome of love.

From the age of seventeen, Catherine's life has been turned upside down. A scandal marks her as the town's outcast. She's now a waitress at a diner and doing everything she can to give her little girl everything that she needs. When a selfless act of bravery lands one of the most coveted NHL players in her life, ultimately everything changes.

Here's what I enjoyed the most about this book. Sure, some might call it cliché and predictable if you look at the overall outline but there's so much more to it. Catherine's struggles are real and her determination and stubbornness is one to be admired. She's just very relatable and easy to like. And while Brett has had a much easier time in his life, he's certainly got a bit of his own scares but ultimately he's just a good guy with good morals and a huge heart. When he's with Brenna, Catherine's daughter, I pretty much swooned.

I enjoyed every character in the book. Even the ones that we love to hate. I think they everyone had their own role and it tied in perfectly with everything. The relationships between friends, family and even townspeople are both saddening and wonderful. There are ups and downs but ultimately, love win.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I read it in almost one sitting and didn't want to put it down. I was just drawn to all of it. If you are looking for a light-hearted (ish) book with a cinderella (ish) feel and love conquers all, then this is the book for you! Just remember there's more to it then that overall theme that you might think you are getting. Well done, Tucker. I can't wait to see what you do next.

This is not the usual type of romance that you expect from this author. It is still as good as you would expect. The romance between Catherine and Rhett is described as a fairy tale. So it is not unique but Catherine and Rhett along with little Brenna make you fall in love with the story and with them. Catherine had a rough life. She went through a rebellious period and had a few self esteem issues. Someone that she trusted and someone that should have helped her, took advantage of that. She was ostracized by her classmates and her town. Pregnant at 18, she finds herself alone and scared. Fast forward 6 years later and we find that she has managed to eke out a quiet, modest living for her and her daughter, Brenna. After her heroic rescue of superstar Rhett, her life changes dramatically. Her privacy is invaded and secrets are exposed. On top of that, Rhett is hot! Is his attraction real or is because she saved her life? Catherine struggles with this question and takes some convincing to face her fears and move on with her life. I loved the story and the characters. They all were well developed and easy to love. Brenna added smiles and laughter with her questions and comments . Gotta love kids. Each side character added definition to the main character and helped define who they were. Great story!

Until It Fades is by far one of the bests stories I've ever read. It's almost like the modern fairy tale story, Cinderella. This 6 star story made me cry, smile and swoon. It left me downright speechless.

Catherine was at the right place at the right time in order to save Brett. Catherine as been through so much. A single mom, waitress on welfare. She really works hard to give her daughter a good home. Brett an NHL hockey player almost lost his life in a car accident, until she pulls him out. When he first meets her, it's love at first sight.

I loved this storyline so much. This original story had me fall in love with the characters that were perfectly created. I can't find anything wrong with this amazingly written story. I was hooked from the blurb to the last page. I read it way past my bedtime. Trust me this is a must read.

Standalone told in Catherine's POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.

K. A. Tucker says in her afterward for this New Adult romance that some people might consider Until It Fades a trope-y book. I am one of those people. If a celebrity romance book and a Harlequin single parent story had a baby, it would be this book ... but I'm not saying that's a bad thing! She also calls Until It Fades "light (for me.)" I agree that this is much less angsty than her prior titles.

Catherine -- a waitress and single mom who has overcome a lot of hate in her small town after a high school affair with a popular teacher that got him arrested --is driving home after a bad blind date when she comes across a car that's smoldering after a recent accident. She calls 911 and drags the surviving victim to safety.

Unbeknowst to her, the man she saved is a hockey star and the son of a movie star (covering all the celebrity bases here...) Catherine, fearful of media attention after being slut-shamed by town gossips years ago, doesn't want to be identified to the press or to the hunky guy she saved, who is not only gorgeous but seems desperate to thank her.

Until It Fades was fun to read. I'm a big fan of most romance novel tropes, but interestingly, I thought this book would have been fine without many of them. The book keeps flashing back to Catherine's past. I didn't think was necessary to do that quite so much, as for me it slowed the action down in the present. It also slowed down the romance - this is definitely the slow-burn kind and more PG-13 than her prior books.

The story puts a bunch of obstacles between these two -- her fear of notoriety, her fear of another heartbreak, her child, his fame, her strict parents, their differences in social class -- but to me the strongest parts of the book were just a few of these obstacles: her fear of being used and discarded by him and his gratitude to her and fear that his accident will end his career. At times I wished the book had spent more time on the emotional connection between them rather than having her obsess about her past quite so much.

Still, this is a great summer read. If you like slow burn, hunky hockey stars, and single parent romances, definitely give this a try!

I love anything by K. A. Tucker that I've ever read. I know that I'll always get a quality story with developed characters and stunning writing when I pick up her books. She's an insta-buy author for me.

Until It Fades is different from her other books, though. While we're still treated to all the good qualities of a classic book from K. A. Tucker, we get something new. Something just as fantastic as what we're used to. This book is a lighter and sweeter side of her.

Until It Fades is a slow-burning romance with absolutely no thought to rushing the main characters together. The slow pace made perfect sense for our heroine, though it drives you wild when you know the couple belong together. Trust me, this isn't a flaw in the story. The pacing did nothing but lend believability of the story.

I've never really read a sports romance before, but it didn't interfere with my enjoyment of the story at all. If anything, I think I'd be more willing to read others now that I've dipped my toes in the water and had a pleasant experience.

Whether you're already a K. A. Tucker fan or if you're new to her work, I think Until It Fades will be a winner for most everyone that enjoys a sweet and slow-burning romance.
