This was such a nice contemporary romance compilation of a lot of my favorite authors. It was nice to have on hand for my train ride to work. I really enjoy Lori Foster and Jodi Thomas, but I also discovered a couple of new authors that I will be on the look out for in the future too.

The Once Upon a Valentine’s Day Sampler contains works from several of today’s best authors, giving readers snippets of some of their work.
I am very familiar with some of these authors and this Sampler made me want more! It also introduced me to several authors I hadn’t read before. I recommend for those that want an introduction to some great authors.

This was a cute little sampler. Great for Valentine's Day and definitely an easy read.

This is a good compilation of some romance stories. Personally, I've never been a huge fan of romance, so I'm glad that such a "romance sampler" exists. This book contains excerpts of 8 different romance novels. Each excerpt contains about 3 chapters of the novel. They give you a good sense of how each plot might develop without giving away too much information. The selection of stories are diverse. Some stories do seem to fit the "romance" stereotypes, while others provide a different perspective into romantic novels.
For fans of the romance genre, this book will definitely introduce you to these 8 authors and the novels. I'd say that you will probably end up buying all 8 novels because of the hooks that each excerpt ends on.
For people like me, who don't really read romance novels, this book gives you a good sense of how diverse romance novels can be. Like me, you just might find one story, out of the eight, that appeals to you.

The story that stood out the most to me in this collection was Wild Horse Spring by Jodi Thomas. I was charmed by the town sheriff, Dan Brigman, and his encounter with a mysterious and fancy lady's boot left on the highway. It was a fun Western spin on Cinderella as Dan hunts for the owner of the lovely blue boot and finds an intriguing woman. I liked that this was an older couple; it made a nice change of pace. Wild Horse Spring charmed me enough with this sample that I will be purchasing the book.

I gave this a 5 star rating because the authors gave an incredible sampler to read. Their goal is to get the reader hooked enough to purchase their books. They succeeded because I am going to buy a few that I want to finish. First on my list is Carla Neggers' Red Clover Inn. I want to see this story end. Jodi Thomas's Wild Horse Spring is intriguing enough to catch my interest and that's just a few. I found each author to have a strong skill and voice. As a sampler this is great. If you're looking for something else, this isn't the book for you.

This was a great compilation of some of the works of today's leading romance authors. Although romance is not a genre I often peruse, I thought it was was a timely collection with Valentine's Day this month. It was nice to have several chapters for each book to really get a taste for the book to see if it was agreeable or not. There were one or two I might add to my TBR list and save for a rainy day.

I really liked the excerpt. I was curious about it and had read a little bit of the first chapter. She's written some of my favorite books, so I knew it would be good. There's a lot of very good set-up in the first few chapters, and I'd love to read the whole thing.

As samplers go, it was okay. There was no excerpt so I had no idea what I was reading.

Oh my gosh! So many awesome books coming out! Thanks to Harlequin, I requested all three of them! My.only complaint.t is that the sampler was longer and.had more books to explore. I love being exposed to books I wouldn't normally check out. It's so cool that you can read a portion of the book to see how you are going to like the writing before you request it.

I always download these samplers whenever I see them on netgalley because they are always a quick and fun read plus a great way to discover new and upcoming books that you might not have otherwise known about. This had a great selection of romance titles and a few peek my interest and I will check them out when they come out

I love these samplers, I find so many books that I may not have found without it. The only issue I have it that my poor Amazon wishlist is huge.
