Bridget easily manages to annoy a very powerful leader of a cult which then puts her life and livelihood in danger unless she can help to bring him down for all the illegal magic he has been using.
As quite a short book, it is action packed and full of excitement. I liked Bridget and can see her turning into an extremely powerful witch, possibly discovering more powers as the books go on.

The premise is interesting, a world where supernatural beings are present and public in the world but the execution and writing style left much to be desired. While reading I came across sentences like: "I felt extremely salty about the whole thing" that read like someone that just doesn't know how to use slang, which pulled me out of the narrative. I also ran across sentences that didn't make sense like: "We were like cats. Wet cats. Wet cats trying to get into Ivy League schools. We didn't get along with each other and we were always in fierce competition."
This book had so much potential, with the plot line but ultimately, I was left feeling quite disappointed. The events that happen should be exciting and draw you in but somehow it just doesn’t.
I didn’t connect to the main character or the side characters, but I feel that that is because it feels like you are being thrown into the middle of her story without any real knowledge about who she is, why she is shunned by her family.

This has been a very interesting story, the storyline was well written and the characters are great, I’m not a lover of vampire, demons, werewolf and such books, but this one was most entertaining. Bridget had a crude way about her and she was quite loud with it, but she had a good heart and a temper and woe unto those who pushed that button as Riley soon learned. But sad to say she sacrificed so much for a demon's assistance but I guess being a witch it didn’t matter. I must say that the storyline is what captivated me, it held my interest though I’m not a fan, I find this book well written and entertaining.

Bridgett was a witch who wasn’t very tall or weigh all that much buy she still had no problem getting her point across. Bridget. Bridget owned a bar with David. Samantha was Bridget’s friend and told the recent visitors they were not interested in the John Anker’s memorial. Samantha mentioned she worked at the Bureau of Supernatural Beings (BSB) and Anklers followers and the BSB weren’t on very good terms with each other. BSB had nothing to do with Ankers idea of legalizing demon magic and necromancy. A few months ago they were the victims of vampire violence and when one of the vampires ended up the BSB and Samantha and Bridget became popular. They were never more united as when hating on each other Ankers followers and the non Ankers followers. Samantha was popular because it was her blood that did the vampire in and Bridget because she had cooked up the potion that poisoned the vampire. Anker’s followers gave witches a bad name. Besides nicotine and occasionally a joint tv was Bridget’s drug. Demon magic and necromancy was dangerous and unpredictable especially demon magic. There were five legal necromancers in Chicago and they all worked for the BSB. They reanimated murder victims in order to find their killers and sent wayward spirits back to the veil. In addition there were ten legal demon summoners who were employed by the BSB as well. The thought of these people sent shivers down Bridget’s spine. All supernaturals had suffered annoyances over the past five years but they lived in peace together. Bridget’s mother -Margaret never called Bridget unless something big was about to happen. She wanted Bridget to go get her cousin Georgia and bring her back to Margaret as Georgia was in trouble. She was at an office signing up to join Ankers little pro demon group. Bridget needed a ride to get to Georgia.
I don’t feel this story reached its full potential. It started out good but then I just couldn’t seem to stay connected to the story. I tried to finish this story and just couldn’t stay interested in it. I am sure someone else will really enjoy this story it just wasn’t for me.

Rage and Ruinby Katie Roman.
Bridget O'Malley's temper has always been trouble. It's made her the black sheep of the family, cost her customers at her bar, and ruined relationships, but it has never put her life in danger. That is until she tries to rescue her cousin from a demon summoning cult. In picking a fight with one of Chicago's most powerful witches, Bridget finds her bar being picketed, her witch's license suspended, and demons on her trail. Annoyed and afraid Bridget uses the only weapon at her disposal to get her life back to normal: her temper.
This was a good read with good characters. I liked the story and the characters. 4*. Netgalley and Katie Roman books.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I actually really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more about Bridget. Bridget is a very powerful witch who just wants to run her business in peace and has mommy issues. In this story, Bridget is called in by her mother to save her cousin from joining a cult-like group that is very dangerous. This group believes that everyone should be able to practice any magic they want, anytime which has resulted in quite a few deaths.

Bridget soon finds herself in deep water, battling powerful forces with limited magic, do to her past transgressions. Now Bridget must do everything she can to survive and fight back. Even if it kills her.

I really wanted to like this book and after reading the blurb I had high hopes. But, as much as I tried, I couldn’t connect to the characters and this made it difficult to get through the story.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thank you, NetGalley and Katie Roman Books!

I wish I enjoyed it more than I did because you can see that the author has put a lot of work into it.
