This was a fast paced mystery with interesting characters. It had all of the ingredients I enjoy however I was unable to believe in Liz. She was a little naive for someone who has been through all of the unpleasantness she has, including prison! The writing was excellent.

This was an intriguing story about a woman who gets shot at while leaving work with a coworker. The coworker is struck and killed and her husband is arrested but insists he's innocent. When more attempts are made on her life she starts to think maybe she was the target . This novel is part of a trilogy but is able to be read alone although it may be advantageous to read them in order.

There are lots of possible suspects in this mystery, but I think to really enjoy this book to the fullest I definitely should have read the first book in this series. Very well written.

I liked this story and I really like Liz Crawford but it was just a little more violent than I'm used to reading. Liz returns to her hometown and shortly thereafter there are three attempts on her life. A friend is killed on the first attempt. The police thinks her friends husband is responsible and don't think Liz was the target. There is lots of action and several suspects. I think reading book 1 in the series might be advantageous. Most of the story is a carry over from No Place to Rest where Liz's sister is murdered. The violence is very graphic. A good story.
